I'm not positive about Abbot though because I am only on season 5, but I have watched numerous scenes with him on here. His record is the only reason he's allowed to approach and solve cases the way he does. If he didn't close every case, he mosy certainly would have been fired back when he bugged Boscoe's office.

To me, *_The Mentalist_* is one of the top five most underappreciated crime dramas of all time. The last season did lack a few elements, but when you look back at the evolution of the plot there had to be a change heading to the end.
A favorite for sure, except for the forced love story - no chemistry except sibling. The reveal of Big John was also a letdown. Here he was almost superhuman in his abilities for so many seasons, and was supposed to have magical charm and charisma and then be such a dud in person. How would this guy have had obedient followers?
I liked the later seasons. The middle season were the lows because they dragged the red John storyline top long. By season 4 it was literally weighing down the procedural aspect of the show.

They always focus about how resourcefull, womanizer and rich he is, but not in how smart he is. And in this kind of lists they never mention Tony Stark that's why I decided including him, because it would be a really interesting conversation among all of them. Michael Scofield is a genius from the series Prison Break. They focus more in the drama with his brother and to escape the prison, than focusing on his skills, but we can see some scenes where thew give us a hint at it and his thinking process.
