I loved the fact that BTS didn't just do one style of dance. They went from contemporary, pop, and there were even some ballet moves there as well.
I think the best way to fully see the scope of their choreography is to start from the beginning from debut to current. The fact that they go from cheeky to deep and somewhat dark but portraying different thoughts and views of being idol. If you go to choreo videos of their dance practices, you'll get exhausted by just watching these guys.
Members, oldest to youngest: Jin (Worldwide Handsome), Suga (aka< Yoongyi or Agust D), RM (aka< Rap Monster, God of Destruction), J-Hope ( Hoesok, Hobi), V (Taehyung, Tae Tae), Jimin, ( Baby Mochi, ) and last but not least, Jungkook ( Kooki, JK,

Can we just take in to consideration that they were barefoot while dancing also!!!
Idol is on the easier side but very energy consuming, they even said it themselves it's even more energy consuming than DNA, imagine have to dance and singing that song in concert where you perform 10-20 songs prior.

They are the champions at transitions and leaving windows that I’ve ever seen. Their levels and formation control is impeccable.
contemporary is jimin's colour T 3T that's why he mostly takes the spotlight in black swan! ofc the others shine too, but we all agree this was his vibe and specialty. it totally was intended to have some contemporary influences, as they have a separate music video (besides the one u watched) for black swan which featured a classical version of the track, along with a highly esteemed group of contemporary dancers ! bts aren't in it obviously, but you can tell it is the concept they went for

Jin, he is the oldest born Dec. '92, Idol video he was wearing the white long sleeve shirt he was center at 3:30 Black Swan he was center at 6:06 jacket with white on top portion
You gotta understand that kpop idol groups usually have huge amount of practice even before their debut then practice harder afterwards too to perfect their crafts, especially BTS, they used to practice 12-16 hrs a day. They are exceptional good at what they do.

3 rappers: RM, Suga, Jhope. The also write lyrics, compose, and produce. Jhope was part of street dance cre× when he was younger and only began to rap after joining BTS, he also has vocal skills. Suga and RM use to be a part of the underground rap scene.
4 Vocalists
Jin, Jimin, V, and JK (Jungkook). They also have writers lyrics, and composed. JK produces a little and for fun he makes videos and edits them(G.C.F. aka Golden Closet Films they are on YT). Jin was about 20 when he joined and had zero background in singing and dancing. Jimin had a background in martial arts, street dancing and went to arts school for modern contemporary dancing and was head of his class but no background in singing. V had went with a friend to an audition to support that friend and instead was asked to audition by the staff and ended being chosen.
THEY ALL HAD TO TRAIN HARD TO GET WHERE THEY ARE.
They were telling a story with the Black Swan choreography... it's so beautiful to watch💜I find it really amazing that when they're still, they don't move a muscle. They're literally like statues
The VERY first video of them I saw was Blood Sweat and Tears dance practice 2 years ago, and it's what started me on my BTS journey. Highly recommend that one! Card carrying ARMY now.
I think other two great coreos are 'Fire' and 'Danger', 'Fake love' too. But the best for me is the MMA 2019 practice. I'm in love with Jimin and J-Hope's solo performances. 💜

The members said that idols is one of their hardest choreos. Idol is physically exhausting and the members weren't even sure if they can do it live.
I think something to keep in mind when thinking about the difficultly of the performance is not just the complexity or difficulty of the moves themselves but also the lengths of the performance and the high energy required or that needs to be maintained throughout. It's impressive to me that the members keep pushing themselves to perform more and more complex and high energy choreography. Actually BTS said it themselves that IDOL was very challenging for them. It was a super hard dance that requires more stamina than usual
It's super draining for sure, but not as technically challenging as many of their other choreos
Sofia Colegio one choreo that is both technically and physically demanding is ON for sure. I believe that was the hardest dance of theirs so far

6:30 The way members left is imitating the movement of birds which are usually leaving one by one. And bc members leave in pair so maybe it also refers to the pair of swans. You can think of their dance and MV in deeper way, this is the reason ppl loves them much more, they always have extra stuff for you to dig out according to your profession and what you passion for. This song is related to the move-Black Swan which is a story about a dancer's passion for pursuing superb skill. And this concept is also mentioned in the first Black Swan MV at beginning.

U can check many vid on yt an intro for each member. U need to know a little bit of their char to know them coz they tend to change their hair color alot if u just wanna know them visually. Their choreographers did a fantastic job creating many masterpieces.

Now at 5:03 the guy in the unzipped red, black, and white jacket is Jungkook. He's the youngest member in the group, known as the golden maknae. Born September 1, 1997. He is part of the vocal and official dance line. He used to rap on the older albums as well.
At 5:07 in the white shirt and black hat is Suga aka Yoongi. He is a rapper, producer, lyricist and so much more. He is the second oldest in the group. Born March 9, 1993. He is one of the 3 rappers of the group but has a vocal track and it's amazing. He started as an underground rapper before joining the group.
At 5:19 the trio from left to right are Jimin - blonde hair and white shirt, center is RM- white shirt and hat and right is V aka Taehyung - white shirt and bandana.
Jimin is part of the vocal and dance lines. He's also part of the maknae (younger memebers) line. Born October 13, 1995. He studied martial arts, popping/hip hop before going to school for contemporary and modern dance. He was ranked 1st at his high school before joining, he also had the shortest training period of the members. He had no background in singing before joining the group.
RM aka Namjoon is the leader of the group. He is a rapper, producer, lyricist etc. He is the youngest of the 3 rappers. He was the first member of BTS. Born September 12, 1994. He also started out as and underground rapper prior to joining the group.
V aka Taehyung is the second youngest of the group. He is part of tbe vocal and official dance line as of 2018. Born December 30, 1995. He has the deepest voice of the group and is one of the quickest to learn and remember the dance moves. He is also an actor and started in a drama a few years ago.
At 6:24 the guy in the center with the hat is J-Hope aka Hoseok. He is the last member of the rap line and the 3rd oldest of the grouo. Born February 18, 1994. He was a street dancer prior to BTS. He was part of a dance group and has been dancing since he was a kid. He used to post videos of him dancing called Hope on the Street. He is the dance leader of the group also part of the official dance line. He mostly raps but can sing. He had no background in rapping before BTS and had to learn prior to them debuting.
Finally at 6:58 the man in the center with the zipped up red, black and white jacket is Jin. He is the oldest member of BTS. Born December 4, 1992. He is part of the vocal line and main visual of the group. He waa scouted by the company coming off of a bus. He had no singing background before BTS and has trained very hard on his voice and dancing.

Well, BTS themselves said in 2018 Vlive, that Idol is one of the hardest performance for them. Maybe, because of how much energy they need to put in to it, not quite sure 🤷♀️ You need to check out some Jhopes and Jimins dance compilations 😁

I think its too hard to tell the members apart with both videos so zoomed out. Since you're new and it takes time to learn each of the members, you don't have to force yourself to quickly learn their names. I think every ARMY can relate to the feeling of not knowing when they first started. For me, personally, I like profiling. So it was easy for me from the beginning because I focus on body structure, facial features, and personalities. Trying to recognize them by hair is.... yeah, no. Too difficult. 🤣

The guy in the middle at the beginning is iungkook... I know you have only made videos about certain members but wondering if you’re gonna do something about them all? Or just those 3 or 4 members out of the 7? I know you know those members names but you still don’t know jungkook Or jin. Maybe bc you did videos on everybody else but left them out... didn’t think you’d be like that.. but I duno ... kinda messed up . Can you do the MMA 2019... and it’s one of the craziest detailed stages I’ve seen in my life. They all do mini dance solos , there’s a thing where the whole place looks like it’s the sky at night w planets and stuf.. jk dances in water, jimin does like a contemporary/martial arts dance , j hope does dbstep , it’s just insane.
After you’ve watched the Dionysus dance practice you might want to watch them do it live while singing at an awards show...30 minutes into a 40 min performance. th-cam.com/video/k-0v1fNVdas/w-d-xo.html I hope you watch and enjoy the whole thing but dancing is at 4.30 for 2 songs with choreo, individual short dances at 19.20 for V, 22.00 for Jimin, 24.36 for Jungkook, and 25.49 for JHope (they’re the main dancers in the group)...and then they start Dionysus at 30.08.
I mean.. its kinda easy to learn IDOL, but IDOL had so much detail in the coreography. If you didnt do this or that, it will look strange

Red black and white track suit is jungkook, v is in green baggy pants and jin is in the track suit that is white on the top... you know the rest of their names and hopefully since you’ve been reacting to them for like 2 years that you’d learn the others names purely out of respect for them... doesn’t really look great that you still don’t.
