  • In this video you see two types of flashers that are incredibly useful for attracting and retaining fish attention. This is the "base" level of flashers and although there are only two, with the roll of bird flasher tape you can get incredibly creative with using plexiglass, various pvc sizes, lanyards, the possibilities are endless.
    The throw flasher is great with the tuna clip for quick hanging flasher setups and without the tuna clip they sink at a slow enough speed!

    Your local hardware store, remember the way It sinks is horizontally so a slightly larger hole compared to a 1/2" one would sink at a slightly slower speed but need a little more flasher tape.

      Glad to hear it worked. I made one now a bit different from the original video. I’ll put that out later on, but I like the simplicity of making those to take on a trip! The wobble on the way down I find is the right speed

    So underrated information. Barracuda is easy with throwable flasher.

      I’m going to try and use them in Rhode Island if it’s not too murky for striped bass to swing by. Barracuda go crazy for it. Someone said adding a black dot for eyes would help, but it works well as is, still would be cool to try!

      When she runs away from you in fear, just throw a flasher behind her and she will turn in your direction)

      Chris Horn I’ll do more developed flashers with flexible mirrors later on. Continuously prototyping and testing while we dive

    If you want to noticeably improve the effectiveness of almost any Saltwater or Freshwater lure, put eyes on it. Even if it's just drawing two black circles on either side at one end with a Sharpie marker or gluing stick-on doll eyes if you want to get fancy about it.

    great ideas. I made these for fishing also so wasn't hard to figure this out for spearing them under the water. I wouldn't waste a drill bit, any piece of wire will work. if its too small just work it around little. also they make pliers for those split rings. I made a little teaser for the end of my guns as well , fish come right up to check it out. thanks for the video. cheers. CL

      100% it’s always fun seeing what gets attracted to them, and occasionally a fish strikes at it. Heated wire I’m assuming to melt a hole through?

      Let me know how one this size works. I don’t like to go too large, I keep them in a pocket I have in my wetsuit pants. Usually two, incase if I throw one and need another.

      It’s been a while since I’ve made them - moved for the next few years. If I recall it was always 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch

    Will this work for freshwater fish ?

    • @SBSpears
      @SBSpears  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many fish go towards shiny bits, especially when light hits the flashers in certain ways. It would depend on the murk of your freshwater along with the species. Some fish may pay more attention versus others.
