Interesting that the whiskey that ‘brings up the rear’ is the one with the least amount left in the bottle! At the start it was the one I predicted to be your favorite! I love the flight fights :)

So my buddy has 2 old elks and both the corks are horrible but one of them is so lose it’s basically just sits in the bottle making sure nothing gets in it. Has anyone else’s old elk cork been super crappy?
Have you had the Wheat N' Rye or the Cigar Cut? Since the publication of this video I picked up those 2 as well. I think they fit nicely into the line up.

Great review Peter! I have a Single Barrel store pick Wheated Bourbon which is fantastic. I just picked up the Old Elk Cigar Cut ($133). First taste was not pleasing, but after I let it open up, it was very enjoyable. (Nothing comparable to the Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend batch 93 I have) 🥃
I’ve got the Double Wheat and Four Grain, and thoroughly enjoy both, with the Double Wheat on top. Haven’t tried any of the others. Il have to keep an eye out for a store pick bourbon.
Very nice Presentation Peter. I had a feeling that single barrel would outdo the rest. 🥃 I just noticed another two OLD ELK releases at Total Wine... A Straight Rye store pick @ 60.4 % ABV and a Cigar Cut - Blend of Oloroso, Port, Cognac and Armagnac finished bourbons @ 55.3% ABV (similar to but less expensive than the Infinity blend).
The cigar cut sounds interesting. Oh by the way we had the wine today. I had a few sips and liked it. My sister and friend finished the bottle! Good suggestion!

I agree with the others. I have had local store picks of both an Old Elk straight bourbon and wheated bourbon. Really great stuff and waaaaaaaay better than the standard offerings. The higher proofs of the store picks really makes a difference. Cheers.

Has anybody had a state exclusive single barrel of Old Elk? I passed on it today at a Meijer in Indiana, but it was only $55 so I’m gonna go back and get it tomorrow after seeing this, just wondering if any other state has had it and what others think of it

Old Elk is amazing, every single one of their offerings. My favorite is the wheated bourbon

2 of my corks just rest in the bottle. I tried to get them wet, but they just fall out.

Only one I've tried is the store pick 5 year 114.1 proof. Bought two around three years ago, have one left. I thought it was great bottle for $70

My store pick of Old Elk is amazing. I've been very hesitant to try some of the others because they are the lower proof.

They released a Wheat N Rye that is also good. I think I'm slightly overloaded with how many releases they have.
I just picked up a bottle of the Old Elk Double Wheat. Absolutely fantastic. Now I've got to keep a lookout for a store pick of it as well!
