If you put some filler in the gouge thats left and sand down the ridges with some 400 grit then repaint colormatch with letherique you could probably make the repair disappear, but your underlying fix was excellent very enlightening technique.........

This is very helpful but I think the seat in my sled is beyond this.😃

lol! Yeah, sometimes that happens, too. New covers are pretty pricey, unfortunately.

Thanks for posting this. I have a very similar tear in my 2021 seat and am curious how yours is holding up and if you would change your approach with 3 years of hindsight. TIA!!

I wish I could say but I sold that sled after that winter. However, it held up just fine the whole time I had it. As far as the process, I don't think I'd change it. It was easy and held beautifully for the time I had it. The VLP seems like a legit product that does what it says, so I have no complaints about it. Thanks for watching & good luck with your repair! :)

Put a sticker over it if that helps.

I suppose you could. It might roll off from moving around on the seat though.

Please post a link to the video you did on how to do it correctly so we can all learn from you. Maybe I can do a better job next time using your technique instead.

Electrical tape would of been a better choice so you can stretch it where it needs to go.

Possibly, but I really wanted that "tab" to stay put & not move. I wanted the vinyl piece to stretch over to where it needed to go, not the tape. When I was thinking about what to use, I considered electrical tape but in my mind, I thought it'd be much stretchier than the vinyl and the force of the vinyl trying to pull back would stretch the electrical tape out of position. Duct tape's rigidity seemed like the better choice. Of course, I can't say for certain because I didn't try electrical, so you never know.
Thanks for watching and the brainstorming! :)
