I'm all in on analog bikes, but I can appreciate the approach of using the ebike as a learning tool. On days when I lap a trail 2-3 times, I can really start to push the envelope of trying new techniques and expand my comfort level. I can only imagine how much exponential benefit would come from even more laps in a less fatigued state! Also appreciate your trail etiquette, if all ebikers were as gracious and grateful as you are when passing, the world would be a better place!
Thank you so much for the feedback and kind words Seth. I'll try and put out a more complete review on my experience with this bike a little later. Dan and I had an amazing time and will def be covering it on our Ride and Laugh MTB podcast too. Sage www.youtube.com/@RideLaughPodcast
This is how I feel riding mine. It is incredible just how good this bike is, even when you are going downhill. I love mine for exploring new trail centers and when riding solo it just allows so much extra freedom. I sure wish it was lighter sometimes but I pick the Turbo now almost every time I'm going out to explore or go for a solo ride.
I can totally relate to this. Previously rode TNP on muscle bike twice. Friday was my first ride there on my new ebike (Transition Repeater PT) ... My God was it insanely fun. I had the same reaction, and said the same thing to my buddy. TNP is a bike park without an uplift essentially. Not any more. We lapped half pipe 8 times. Great videos. Cheers!
OMG right?!?! I wish I could keep this bike. I'm totally sold on the lap concept and TNP is the perfect spot. Thank you for the feedback and comment. Sage
I just purchased a 24 Levi Turbo. I just adjusted the sag and converted to tubeless so not even one ride in yet. I've done Trexler 3 times and As much as I love park i hate climbs as a 300 lb guy . 5 miles there is my max. Can't wait to return
Where I notice the etxra weight on an e-bike the most is in the braking... It "tracks" through the braking zone a lot better... When I had the Turbo Levo out for some rides I managed around 75km and over1000m climbing on a charge... Having said that though... I also managed to burn through the batteries in about 35 to 40km when I went "full Braaaaap" and just jammed it in turbo mode. So needing to manage the batteries is a real thing!
Super interesting Phil. I'm struggling with the tech, especially the slow speed tech, because break modulation is impossible on this thing, lol. As for the battery life, I can see range anxiety being a real thing. Thanks for the comment and feedback. Sage
Great video sage, I've always wondered how you would find an e-bike. Now you have tested the Levo Turbo, an absolutely great bike. I found your reaction and feedback very interesting. I love my e-bike, but I wouldn't want to do without my normal bike, it always depends on the purpose for which the bike is used. Thanks for the video and your experience with it mate. As always, you rode great. Ride on and have a great sunday🤙
I'm not the biggest fan of e-bikes (and yes, I've tried them). Don't get me wrong, e-bikes are a lot of fun and great for those who want to enjoy MTB trails to the fullest. But my main objective has always been my physical evolution and that's where I get the most pleasure: improving my PR on climbs, analyzing power output data, improving my Functional Power Threshold, creating and following training plans, and strange as it may seem, It is in the suffering of this daily training/work in search of marginal gains that I derive the most pleasure. I know, I'm a weird guy... As always, great video. It's awesome watching you having fun. Stay safe buddy.
I agree Luis. I would never get an ebike for fitness purposes. I would use it to improve my downhill skills, specifically jumping. I will always be an analog bike first type of guy, well until I get to old ;) Thanks for the feedback brotha!
Broken Arrow on an E-bike. Multiple runs that seems brilliant! I rode one once on a demo day at Birdsboro. It definitely is a bit unsettling. I imagine it would take a few rides to get used to.
I have yet to ride modern ebike and I’m afraid to… because I’m a POSITIVE I will want to buy one. We have tons of “pedal bike park” style trails in this region where an e-bike would be amazing
OMG VA would be perfect for an ebike. Zipping up those road and double track climbs would be amazing. And yes, now that I tried one I totally want an ebike, lol. Thanks for commenting Forrest. Sage
It was clearly noticeable that you enjoyed riding that bike Sage 😁 I'm currently also weighing if I should pull the trigger on an e-Bike. However I am more inclined towards a light e-MTB ... I don't think I want to ride a 25kg full power MTB. There's been a lot of news presented ath the Eurobike lately ... the new DJI bike and motor system look very tempting. And I notice that I also begin the change my view of e-MTBs . For many years I associated an e-MTB with a lack of fitness and an unwillingness to suffer and simply saw it as a sign of age. However in the last two years I noticed that a lot of the very fit young guns that regularely bury me in our little fun enduro races take in many training laps on e-MTBs. It's an advantage that'S hard to overcome if you have to earn every downhill with blood, sweat and tears. It's not a big deal if you have a bikepark with lifts nearby but I have to ride several hours to have that ... btw ... I can see a topic for the ride & laugh podcast there . I agree with you, I think I will always prefer my analogue bike, but having just that one more bike in my quiver will for sure solve all my confidence issues ... I just need to find a way for my wife to understand that 🤣😂
Its a game changer Christian. I'm working on a video for my channel and podcast that will sum up my final thoughts on the ebike, but you hit all the points. As for your wife, well, you are on your own on that one, lol. Thanks for the comment and support brotha!
You on an e-bike??? I think I’m gonna have to get some supplies and build a bunker cause the apocalypse may be coming soon lol I’m glad you like it. It’s definitely life changing and can unlock so much more. I just bought one three weeks ago and it’s just been a blast. Haven’t jumped it yet, but the weight definitely has me a bit worried, but other wise it feels super planted and not too different.
lol right?!?! I can't believe it either but it was so much fun. We took it to Mt Penn yesterday and today and it jumped awesome. I put a little video of it on my Insta if you want to check it out. instagram.com/trailsage/ Awesome to hear you got one. I'm bummed I have to give this one back... wamp wamp.
I know me, a pedal assist e-bike wouldn’t be a good idea, if I had one I’d use it all the time and my fitness would wane. I’m 56 so I can imagine needing one…but not yet.
This is likely not entirely true. A few things; if you use eco, it still requires effort. Yes, not as much, but you’ll be getting a workout. Even if you used Turbo all day, the added weight requires more strength to move around. You will get more of an upper body workout. In addition, because you can ride potentially 1.5-2x as much, even though the climbs are easier, you’ll be feeling it. More Zone 2-3 instead of 4-5. Which is great for fat burning as well.
I hear ya Pat, but you get quite the workout on the downhills. For me, I love the idea of being able to do multiple laps without getting tired. We progressed so much in the last 3 days.
Good points John. I wasn't looking for the workout aspect, but I could see that. For me, this was all about sessioning. Thanks for the feedback and comment. Sage
@@TrailSage sessioning is exactly why i got one. 2 kids later and i dont have as much time as i used to. If i get more riding in, in the same amount of time, im in.
Everyone hates on ebikes until they ride one, welcome to the dark side. Stick it in turbo and leave it there, life's too short to ride in trail and eco, the ups become more fun than the downs.
Dude--- there is nothing like listening to someone have a genuine awesome time. You deserve the smiles, man! Great vid!
Right on Yos, thank you so much! I have so much gratitude in my heart. We got this!!!

We rode ebikes there for the first time on Friday and it was an absolute blast ... so much fun!! Awsome video.
It might be the perfect spot for an ebike. Thanks for the kind words Dale. Sage
Unbelievable!! Man I want one!! Safe your excitement was ❤❤❤an e-bike would definitely help me with my Parkinson’s!! Thx for the video my brother ❤🇨🇦
Thanks for the kind words Uzi. If you get one please let me know how it goes. Sage
Great video Sage! What an awesome experience!! Ebikes unlock so many laps and downhill practice runs. Game changer!!!
Yes!!!! Thank you so much for securing these bikes for us. #grateful
That's crazy that they handle so well! I would be worried about them on jumps... I always figured they were for streets only. Very cool!
Jo it was amazing!!! We progressed so much in the few days we had the bikes.

"Less suck and more stoke!" I love that Johnnie, lol.
I ran across this video trying to make sure it was okay to bring an ebike to Trexler I guess this answered my question!
Right on Chris. You should be good to go. Thanks for watching. Sage

nice fellas!!!
Thanks Bryan!
Nice video Sage. Yes I imagine going back to Trex without a motor is gonna be tough lol 😂😂
I don't even want to think about it Sam, lol.
HERE WE GO SAGE GOING ROGUE! Haha they're pretty fun aren't they? I'd get one if our riding group got one to be honest.
Lol right?!?! We were saying the same thing. If one of us got one the rest of us would have to get one too.
