    Looks like a handy upgrade. I have a soft spot for old manuals and diagrams too haha.

      I won't lie to you, I was super excited when he pulled that folder out and handed it to me. What a cool piece of history to go with the compressor!

    Been looking to add something similar to this to my compressor as I live in a very humid environment and don't remember to drain my tank often enough. However, it seems silly to me to use an electric valve when pneumatic ones exist. The electric ones seem way more common though. I'll have to get one soon and do my own video about it, then we can see which one works better. :D

      I’d love to pneumatic one. Would be way simpler, however what controls the timer? Certainly it would need some sort of power?

      @@EverythingElliott From what I understand, they sense the pressure differential when the compressor motor shuts off and open for a second. I think they are plumbed into the pressure switch. No timer. It's all mechanical.

    Love the video. I'm a bit worried about that 75 yr old tank with 5 gallons of water in it! Need to do a Hydro test and make sure it safe.

      Yeah seems the previous owner didn’t do PMCS

    Has it lasted ok? I wonder about putting a wall timer in line so that it’s only on at certain times of the day. Every 45 mins seems like overkill and would probably get old to listen to and maybe make your compressor cycle more often?

      It’s still kickin just fine. It froze a couple times over winter which I thought would have killed it, couple min with the heat gun and we were back in business

    Elliott Air Driers protect air-tools not the compressor tank. The drain valve is the proper precaution.

      Im hoping to protect the holding tank. And keep everything original as it came back in 1947. I hope this auto drain will do that!

      @@EverythingElliott that always protect the tank i just fixed a semi old champion cf12 compressor fixed the regulator and startup switch and found the tank to have a pinhole leak trying to find another tank as the compressor and motor are running flawlessly atm

      @@996stoky a tank should be fairly simple to find, just look for a compressor that has a blown motor. I see them on FB marketplace all the time!

    U actually let your tank to accumulate a couple of gallons of water? How much maintenance do u do on it

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s nothing for the compressor to get a gallon of water in it in 1 or 2 days when I’m using it during busy season.
