      Also don’t go out on public road too, you are being very deadly and reckless, it’s easy to get killed on a motorcycle remember this. I drive a motorcycle myself , I learned turning , stopping , controlling throttle for 7 days on a nonbusy road. Be safe, don’t want you on a tombstone on your first riding

      25 years into riding I just went down on the road for my first time😂😂😂 I finally got my stitches out next Wednesday sitting here with road rash from head to toe..... Well I should say shins to shoulders.... I literally just went to meet up with my friends a mile from my house the day before my birthday to show them my new bike on the way home a box of freaking nails fell off one of those ghetto ass Mexican work trucks this is what police assumed anyways my bike slipped out and I went for the slide of my life in shorts and a t-shirt. I can't even say how far the bike when I can't believe it it had extremely expensive sliders. And it saves the bike completely... Yes I have to replace a few minor things and I do not like not having a windshield higher speeds sell windshield Plus whatever else I can find to make this bike my own is a cafe racer with the mt09 motor full exhaust and power Commander..... Xsr 900 if anybody knows but then when you put a full exhaust and a whole bunch of other s***on these things they are freaking sleepers.. it looks kind of slow and then it's faster than almost everything

      It's definitely smarter to learn and get everything situated before buying a bike and riding off the lot, I wouldn't want to be the reason you're dead because you THOUGHT you could handle a bike but fell off and slid infront of my truck. make sure you at least understand how a bike works and the other fundamentals before you get the idea to go buy a bike and ride it from the dealership 💀

    Reminds me of getting my GSX-R 600 over 20 years ago. No license. No experience whatsoever. Never even sat in the pilot's seat before. Looked up the controls online, took it around the block once to make sure I didn't need to trailer it home, then hopped on the freeway for the hour ride back to base.
    For the people wishing pain and injury on the rider for not having gear, I still don't wear gear unless I'm either planning on going extra hard on the back roads or am headed to the track. And I'm still alive. We all have different experiences. We're not all built the same. But I do hope everybody stays safe out there regardless.

    Well done mate. I started on a 125 so I can't imagine how scared you are. You are clearly being very careful in this video. I dropped my trainers 125 once, almost crashed, and then dropped the training 600 twice. Since passing, I've never had any incident on any bike.
    Glad you went so far into the deep end and actually didn't mega bail. Well done. Just keep that carefulness of the first time forever. Don't listen to the squid demon unless you know 100% the conditions are fully controlled (almost never).

    Beautiful bike congratulations! I'll say I enjoyed watching your video although I was probably just as nervous as you were, the entire time. You are a quick learner it seems, which is good. Remember, proper gear always. I read that you'll 'get a jacket soon', even until that point please don't leave any skin exposed - wear something: double layers and full denim shirt, jeans without holes etc.
    And the MSF course is recommended, the $50 versions offered thru local schools will teach you a lot, so book now before the seats run out. They are as good (often better) as the private shop courses offered by say Harley etc. which typically charge $350, and you'll learn a lot. Remember to look up, but the video was understandable as you're taking time to look down and learn the controls of your new bike too - perfectly ok. And lots of backroads/parking lot time as you learn the bike.
    All the best, ride safe;

    Why not just take the $50 MSF course? They prepare you for at least a safe and efficient ride off the lot. Figuring it out on the road isn’t really the greatest idea when you can burn through gears and over rev your motor.

      The only MSF course within 100 miles of me is $350, but I am still going to take that over having to take a driving test with no practice to get a motorcycle endorsement. • @FlawlessFailer
      @FlawlessFailer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +28

      Hey man, rider of 25 years here. Let me tell you some of the shit I've seen because people thought riding without gear is fine.
      A friend of mine turned into a literal flesh crayon. No Jacket, no proper pants, no gloves. He fell at like 45mph because of an oily patch on the street, so no big crash by any means but he slid quite a long distance on the tarmac.
      He left almost all the skin of his hands and his right arm on the street. Also his right hip and right knee. Needless to say his tattoo on the arm was gone. Wasn't able to wipe his own ass for 5 weeks. The skin graft from his butt to his right arm went well, but he now has ass hair growing on his arm and I wish I was kidding. With proper gear he maybe would've had some minor burns because of the heat transfer.
      Another rider I know had his chain rip at high speed. A piece went straight through his sneaker into the back of his foot. Almost completely tore his achilles tendon. Had multiple surgeries and couldn't walk right for almost 2 years. He stopped riding because of that even tho it was avoidable with proper boots.
      Yes, some people are negative and some want to see people without gear crash. But so far the majority of the commenters were concerned about your well being. You only have one body and you don't want to mess that up. Having a crash isn't always your fault, but riding without gear is.
      Please know that I don't want to discourage you from riding a bike. To me it's one of the best hobbies out there and I wish more people could experience it. I want you to have fun with your bike for as long as possible. Please be reasonable.

    • @mephistovonfaust
      @mephistovonfaust 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Listen, I want to add something to what @FlawlessFailer said.
      I don't always wear the full kit. It was very hot today, I was late for work and my motorcycle jeans were in the wash so I opted for a normal pair of jeans.
      It felt nice, not being cooked for once.
      The thing is, I know how to ride a bike.
      I had to get taught and then do a written and practical exam to prove I know how to ride a bike.
      I went on multi thousand km motorcycle tours.
      And yet... I usually always wear full gear.
      You want to know how fast shit happens?
      I'm not even talking about big injuries or crashes... About 1.5 or 2 months ago I went to a friends birthday party on his property, about 2 km from where I live.
      It was really freaking hot that day, so I decided to go in shorts.
      Nothing will happen, I thought...
      So I arrive at the party and one of my best friends walks towards me.
      I scootch over a bit on my seat to get the bike balanced to on uneven terrain and secure it with the side stand so it can't fall over.
      While doing that my right calve just for a few milliseconds touched the exhaust pipe...
      2nd degree burns, leaked to no end for weeks and is still a bit crusty.
      Long story short. If you want to ride without gear, that's on you, but we were irresponsible not telling you to at the very least get some training in with a coach before you end up killing yourself. I am a risky driver, lane split at 150 km and shit like that. Other bikers hate people like me, because we ruining the name of bikers apparently but even I am convinced you'll end up killing yourself or at the very least hurt yourself really bad.

    If I got any advice for the new people thinking of getting into motorcycles and have never rode a bike get a dirt bike you can learn the basic mechanics and fundamentals on something that’s way cheaper in price and maintenance then full sending a 6-8k+ bike worth a lot in price and more in maintenance get a 125cc manual bike 4 stroke cause most you would destroy the bike just letting the clutch out and run that for a few months learn the basics and then sell it and get a street bike and you’ll understand everything way better how the clutch feels and works how to shift and how to maintain the bike it will 100% save you and don’t get a big ego thinking you can handle a 1000cc cause you won’t i promise you I did it once and ended up with a broken ankle (luckily) and a totaled bike riding a dirtbike 100% helped me with everything I needed to know so when I did get a 400 i understand all of it just had to get pass the nerves being on road with other people but that last a few days and your good

    Even at 10mph, you will get road rash that you'll never forget.
    Congratulations on getting a bike, but get proper gear.

    I will give you this, you have a big set. I guess you had a reason for doing this but seriously, I would have found someone to bring the bike to your house and practiced near your home. If I had been the salesman at the dealer I would have tried to talk you into let the dealer deliver your bike.. I hope you made it home okay. Take the MSF course it will help and make getting your license a lot easier. Take care.

    Don't take the gear comments personally. Manage your own risks. Get the best gear you can comfortably afford as you go. That's what my instructor told me, and that's what I will tell you. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend a motorcycle safety course. Even as someone who was very experienced with dirt bikes at a young age I still learned some things. Ride at your own skill level. You need to learn how to lean. Go to a parking lot and practice leaning. If you can't turn your bike around within two parking spots comfortably without putting your foot down, you aren't ready for the road. At least you're wearing a helmet. I was riding today in blue jeans and a t shirt (always a helmet) today because I'm a rebel. I am fully aware that if I screw up and hit the pavement, that's on me. I know better, but life isn't meant to be lived in fear either. I only fear God. Have fun and be safe.

    Ok, so I never took the motorcycle safety course. First bike was a gen 2 mt-07, HOWEVER, I already had years of riding experience on p it bikes and dirt bikes, before I got my mt-07. I didn’t stall it once, and it allowed me to focus solely on learning how to position myself in traffic, how to build judgment on how close to be to cars in diffrwnt situations, when it’s ok to filter, all that. You should already know how to cojntersteer, use clutch, throttle, footbrake, and front brake, before you even consider getting motorcycle.

    If you truly have zero experience, and your bike is a 500, that's not good. I understand that you don't want to be stuck with a 300, and have a bike that is boring, but there is multiple really good reasons to start out on a 300 or less. I really wish you the best, and hope that you learn, without "learning." I highly suggest you watch this video many times. I watched it countless times, and watch it occasionally. I found this video by scouring motorcycle channels, and some of the channels recommended it. It's really good, with cheesy acting.
