Boston - Brad Delp - More Than A Feeling - cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
It took Boston guitarist Tom Scholz more than 5 years to complete the song “More Than A Feeling” but it definitely ended up being worth the wait.
The tune was one of a number of songs that Scholz worked on in his basement before Boston ever got a record contract.
It ended up being released as the lead single off of their debut album and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now a classic rock staple, the song was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

What a great way to usher in a Friday! Great rendition and I liked the little changes you made. This along with your Soldiers Under Command Stryper cover may be my favorites you've done. Just goes to show all the poser vocal coaches online how it's done by a true professional. Funny, that same "coach" running a ton of ads on my site was the very vocal coach who stole my Fallon video and redirected it to his own site. I had to threaten his service provider with a law suite for him "ghosting" my web site to get it redirected back to my site. Early on he impersonated me. Now he claims to be the most popular vocal coach on the internet (with 500K subs which he probably bought because he uses these 3rd party sites that play videos over and over to get view counts up) however, thankfully KTVA will be coming up on almost 2 times as many subs 1 million... Crazy world we live in... Glad I can put out content people enjoy and can genuinely benefit from.

Not only was that last note held for 23 seconds, but he showed no signs of strain in his neck AND he did vibrato at the end when he should have been GASSED

Ken, I love you...love your voice...love your coaching...Boston's first album was one of the first I ever bought. Brad is easily within the top 3 rock vocalists for me. I mean, Brad Delp singing Boston would be better. But Ken nailed it, so pretty darn good too. I particularly liked Ken's tone on the verses. On a good day I can do this song justice, but I tend to do it more in the Michael Sweet style, avoiding the super high falsetto moment. I'm just always worried that I won't nail the note and end up looking silly. Ken did it pretty well, but even he was not spot on with his pitch for that note. I mean, it happens to the best of us, so I'm not criticizing. More like, sympathizing.
One the best( if not the best) cover in my opinion, thanks for bringing Delps voice back.

Back when the album was released I bought the 8 track tape. Listened to it over and over on a trip from Independence, MO to Erie, PA. My parents were sick of “My music” by the time we got there but i was not told to turn it off. If that had been KISS or Blacksabath I would have been dropped off before making it out of town. 🤪
They weren’t crazy about it but appreciated the mellowness and harmonizing vocals.
The 8 track tape only lasted for about 4 years. It was replaced by cassette and later the CD. Now I purchased the license to play it on my iPhone. It never gets old.
Thanks to Brad for bringing the world such memorable music that its radio waves will bounce around the galaxy forever.

So many memories of this song when I was a young man. Good times. Brad was a great singer who sadly passed too soon and In a very sad way. Great job as always ken. When I was a kid in the 70s I recall a friends older brother telling us it wasn’t humanly possible to sing these high level super extended vocals. He said the Boston vocals were manipulated digitally. I partially believed that based on my complete inability to come close to singing this song. Now I know the truth. Thanks Ken.
