I love how you both try to dissect the meaning, ARMY went crazy with theories and ideas when this first came out. It blew up world wide because it was no only music, but literally ART. There are tons of ideas that people have about the meaning, but let me just go over a few things that many might have touched base in these comments.
1. The painting behind SUGA is called "The Fall of Icarus" A greek god who refused to listen to his fathers advice, of not flying too close to the sun or the wings will melt and you'll fall to your doom.
2. They are in a museum with statues from old myths, each god and goddess having something to do with good and evil.
3. Each OLDER (matured) member is paired with a YOUNGER (innocent) member. RM with JK, JHope with V and SUGA with Jimin.
4. The picture Jin is looking at is called
"The Fall of the Rebel Angels" by Bruegel. The evil angels God cast out of heaven and the torment between the fallen angels (demons, evil, temptation) and the humans on earth trying to fight the temptation but failing (biting the apple like Adam and Eve.)
5. Please pay attention to the flowers at the last scene with Jin...each flower has a meaning to the members since the first BU music video.
6. Just because, notice JKs shirt is a wheel. It symbolises the Wheel of Justice. ..and he's upside down with a lollipop in his mouth...it's like he turned justice upside down and refuses to face the consequences of remaining in a child like mind, refuses to grow up, refuses to look at the reality his world is, which is, a grown and mature young man, he wants to stay childlike.
I can go on but if you take in these reasons for the symbolism, you can go back to older videos in the BU and come up with even more ideas LOL

The entire album Wings is inspired by Hermann Hesse's Demian. And all songs are connected one to another. The MVs are just pure ART. Every little thing has a meaning.

For the MV, Jin is the main character of the story. He can change it from this to that and from that to this (It's a clue 😏).
When Jin look at a picture, it is a picture of angels, fallen angels and human. Jin is a really good actor in his eyes he mix sympathy and he seem forced to do something. It's either both. You can see there's black and white doors and in the between is the picture.

Pretty Lilo he is because he was the first to give into temptation and sin by killing his father after that he basically leads the other boys to follow him (so after that all the boys give into their own temptations and sins in the storyline)

Jungkook represents Icarus. RM represents Daedelus. Daedelus is the father of Icarus. It's a Greek myth. The story goes that, once, Icarus asked his father for a pair of wings because he wanted to fly. But Daedelus refused. But Icarus was a very strongwilled boy so he eventually ended up getting what he wanted. Daedelus gives him a pair of wings made out of wax. He warns him not to go near the Sun. But Icarus was very curious, so he went near the sun and the heat melted the wax, and he falls. His father made sure he doesn't get hurt so he makes a sea below him so that he'll fall into water, and won't be harmed.
In the scene where V falls down from the balcony, you can see a painting on the wall in the background, and if you look carefully, you'll notice a hand coming out of the sea, which is Icarus. V resembles the Fallen Angel. That's why he falls from the balcony

Blood Sweat & Tears, the difference between wanting to sin and resisting against sinning is shown (=> a fight between good and bad angels).
But the thing is, this entire mv takes place in a world in between life and death. (this is also mentioned in Demian). It’s a world where you have to decide. And this all happens after Jin fully realised that he is dead, which concluded into his dream world falling apart. So after realising, he’s in the world in between life and death where he has to decide between good and evil. The difference between Jin, V, Jungkook and Rap Monster, Jhope, Jimin, Suga is that one group comes from the realm of death, while the other one comes from the realm of life, and they meet in the world between those two realms. Of course, this all indirectly happens in their mind and in reality, they’re not together.

this video has a lot of christian symbols for example at 6:50 and 15:56 that statue resembles Mary (and later the same statue breaks). it's part of the theme "growing up and losing innocence". which is the main theme in the book "Demian" by Hermann Hesse, which was the inspiration behind this.
another example at 9:00 the scene likely depicts the Last Supper
the apple is a symbol for sin (like w adam and eve)
essentially, when they sing about kissing and dancing, it symbolizes flirting w the devil and succumbing to sin
13:07 are the raven wings of the god Abraxas from the book "Demian". that god symbolizes something like a bird fighting it's way out of an egg. so, to be born (= to experience the world) u have to fight the set boundaries that u already know, and this is also a form of sinning (becoming an adult etc)

I'm just going to give you a tiny hint - The painting
im really late but im just going to sum it up a bit
The theme/concept for this song is based on a book called Demian; here is a short plot description of the book:
“Emil Sinclair is a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words that means “world of light” as well as “world of illusion.” Emil’s entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between both worlds: the show world of illusion (related to the Hindu concept of maya) and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate ‘Max Demian’, he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into realization of self.”
There are many themes dealing with the juxtaposition of dark and light, good and evil, ignorant reality and spiritual awakening or enlightenment. In the book Demian is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes which is why Taehyung in the video has blonde hair and blue eyes; he is Demian. Jin is Emil Simclair. Him kissing the statue represents him giving Demian/is the fallen angel, the Lucifer, his ‘spiritual awakening’ that is why Taehyung has the scars of wings being ripped out of his back and why chaos breaks out after Jin kisses the statue; as you notice Marys face explodes, the colorful tears, the more lustful shots of them and Jins face starting to crack representing what he has done to himself spiritually.
And there’s a lot more symbolism:
1)Jhope shooting a bow and arrow that splatters multicolored ‘paint’ representing blood over Taehyung or Demians face.
2)Jimin being blindfolded and tied up struggling to break free
3)Taehyung jumping off of the balcony representing suicide, something that in many religions is considered a ‘sin’
4)The absinthe that’s used (the green alcohol that Namjoon was dropping into the water):
“Absinthe is traditionally bottled at a high level of alcohol by volume, but it is normally diluted with water prior to being consumed. Absinthe has often been portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug and hallucinogen. The chemical compound thujone, although present in the spirit in only trace amounts, was blamed for its alleged harmful effects. By 1915, absinthe had been banned in the United States and in much of Europe, including France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria-Hungary.”
There’s still more if you pay attention to the other 5 members there’s things going on with all of them.
I recommend you watch the Japanese MV for this also. But don't post/copyright. It's very trippy and has MAJOR clues for the storyline. Just mention you watched it in another video.
When jin kissed the mannequin it represents him taking in the evil and sacrificing himself for the others to be safe. V had the evil powers now jin is replacing him. Dont know if this makes sense

The colours represent emotions. Green can mean new life, growth and harmony but it can also mean greed and jealousy and in this video it represents just that, greed, which is one of the 7 sins. And RM drinks that green liquid (=poison) which is what greed and jealousy is, poison. :D Baby ARMY fighting~ you can decypher this! ^_^

I Need You MV and Blood Sweet Tears MV created the biggest ARG storyline for BTS and army was formed during it, BitHit never came out to disclaimed or explained anything, which added a little more fun for encouraging fans' digital writing. At the end, great fan-generated content made into part of BTS message and culture.
This video fully packed with religion, art pieces and novels references, even if people don't get every meaning behind it, they can still see the shapes and colour coordinated references, i.e. the green thing RM drink is exactly how you take Absinthe...
It expanded the storyline of I Need You and BTS short films, everyone is someone who needs to be rescued or rescuing the others.
fun fact: all songs of bts is like a connected story for example one of their song which is called NO and after years they released recently ON, so it will great if you time guys to watch their videos from the beginning because that will be a kick off to completely understand every songs they've released since then

You know what this song means something deep ... The paintings the piano , that's statue, the drink, the Apple, the green smoke, and many more things symbolise something.

them sitting together and dining with apples, in a garden/forest reminds me of the forest painting in the hospital in jimin and j-hope's wings short films. the apple, the garden, jimin's short film lie, j-hope's short film with 'Eva' reminds me of the story Garden of Eden about temptation. Once they fall into it, their eyes open and they see evils of the world.

I read the book and once you do all the symbols of the story line and the short films and the music video really make sense. Apart from one reactor I saw years ago, I haven't seen anyone ever comment on video that the mirror reflection in the final scene with Jin isn't a true reflection (look at the flowers)
I won't say what this means, but if you really want to look into it I suggest rewatching Jin's Wings short film Awake in your own time which will help.
