Sir, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Not only is your repair quite ingenious with your five wraps of tape replacing the grommet, but you clear long shown photo shots of each critical step made you easy to follow! I regret I can only give one like for your video. I’ll share and ask family and friends to also like but don’t know how many will. Regardless, I thank you Sir, and shall be your most recent subscriber. ❤

Hi. I was hoping you could answer a question for me. I have a 2004 Sport Corolla that had a broken transmission shifter cable that needed to be replaced. Is this a piece that can be vandalized by someone if they want to wreck your car. Is it easily accessible? I'm sorry to ask such a random question, but I'm hoping someone can let me know exactly where the cable is and how easy it is to break? Someone recently vandalized my car and I am worried they may have come back and broken the shifter cable. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help me with this information.

No, the shift cable isn’t easily accessible. Around 40 seconds into the video a diagram shows how the cable fits into the car. Only the last 4-6” is exposed. After watching the video you can find your cable to examine it. I suspect your problem is something other than from sabotage.

Wrong the cable broke by transmission it's not the bushing and it's a big job to replace sifter cable !

I just replaced that part on a Corolla. Purchased it at the dealer for less than $4. The part costs less than all those zip ties you just used.
