@@FinnegansGarageCannot remember whether ARE made a Lo Pro fiberglass tonneau for these. Used to install them on many Dakota RTs back in the day. Or fcuk it, let the next man decide.
Gm really put out an amazing truck when the obs came out, from the start the styling lent itself to become the canvas of many automotive artists, this example would definitely get a thumbs up from Boyd. Nice truck dude.
I love those cable pliers. Best invention ever.. the only tip I have for spring clamps is to make sure you get the clamp in the original indentation otherwise they leak 100% of the time sometimes lots sometimes a wee bit, always make sure they line up perfectly or there will be a leak. Something I have learned over 30 plus years as a licensed tech
I know it's a matter of opinion, but if it were me, I would have retained the original WT front end and black rear bumper. But, as a GMT-400 fanatic, I have been in awe of this build since the start..... There's something about an OBS GM that is simply perfect. LOVE this build!
I absolutely love when someone's truck build has everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. This is shop truck perfection. Those wheels , that stance, those awesome graphics, power plus on demand. Those wheels!!! Epic Mike. Super clean, kind of a dream really. Michael in Toronto. PS SEMA, eat your heart out.... 20 gazillion wheels and chassis? This is what folks really need in their lives. Well thought out and exceptionally well executed. Super clean..... I want one!
Turned out sick. Love when a stock truck gets turned into a street machine with just some simple tasteful old school mods. Some styles just never get old or die 👏🤙😎.
I had a super cab in that color and it was by far the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and never had a single issue with it. It was even procharged with a bunch of aftermarket upgrades under the hood and a pretty big high SQ JL Audio/Rockford Fosgate/Audio Control sound system in it.
I liked the W/T front end since you just don’t see them as much. But since you changed it that front fascia always looked best with a billet grille insert, it just suites the generation.
The GMC front end was just a better all around look to play with vs the Chevy . Still a stylish front end . But that mouth opening was always my fav of the OBS trucks
@@user-neo71665I meant you don’t see them as much in a custom build. OBS trucks in general are a dime a dozen. Those remote hose clamp pliers are one of the best tools i ever bought. On any fwd v6 pos, they are required. In some cases there is no way to get a radiator in and out without them.
Pdr guy says "don't try this at home" Lesson is actually " don't try this on something you actually care about until you have tried on a hundred or so scrapyard parts. Proper tools are also a big deal
Quick tip: When reusing a hose that has had a spring clamp on it, like the upper hose on the truck, put the clamp back in the same position on the hose. If you don't, it may leak. Actually, it will leak more often than not. Ask me how I know😅
@@luketeverino6085 your boss was literally an idiot, if the hose is that impregnated with a clamp it should be changed, speaks to the hardness of said hose, if any hose has lost its ability to flex it should be changed immediately, your clamp doesn’t matter

I need to get a pair of those hose clamp pliers. Those clamps are a real pita with regular pliers. Paint is definitely in great shape for the age. Great color too. Same color as my ZR2 Blazer but it doesnt look nearly as good. 😁Wow! Nice van! 👍Love the updated, upgraded front end. Nice thing about that era of Chevys, GMCs are the front ends all pop off, have the same mounting. So its easy to make a Chevy look like a GMC or in your case, a newer year. Blazers are the same. I could make mine look like a Jimmy. 😁Man that thing sounds damn good. Looks awesome too. That fender tool is just wild!
Very nice Mike and Joe. Excellent build. Congrats! My pinstripeing guy, with the 283 and 700R4 in the Skooby mystery van. Come to think about it, he did resemble Shaggy a bit. In late 1955, you could order a 11:1 compression, Duntov solid lifter cam in the 265CI. Same for 1956, but earlier in the year, you could get a 11:1 compression, Duntov solid lifter cam, in the 283, for both cars and trucks. I know, low power stuff today, but back then?, it was smiles per miles. Pretty sure all of those have been found in the junkyard, but you never know. One might be waiting. Good luck at Sema!.
I prefer the Bex closer that gap looks over 1 1/4" when I prefer 1" it makes a big difference and if you look at the wheel placement is you'll see it needs to go farther towards the cab.
Nice! I don't usually like dropped trucks, but this was well done. Probably (in keeping with the theme) I'd have gone with 18" wheels and a little more sidewall, but those wheels are awesome.

Stealth for the win. Everyone knows the guys that drive around with super-loud exhaust (bike, car, or truck) are compensating and it's not necessary for any amount of street power.
For your list of future upgrades: The GMT-800 brake master cylinder swap is easy and is worth the effort. Those OBS masters always get squishy and make the truck annoying to drive.
I had a red low mileage 94 Sierra that looked like new inside and out that I was going to build but ended up having to trade it for a car for the family but this truck reminds me about that truck never going to find another on in that condition awesome build!!!!
Just needs something done with the back bumper. Either delete and roll pan. Or something closer looking to the front bumper. And a nice hard bed cover.
