    This is so relaxing. This is the first Titanic model I ever built back a few years ago. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for the beginner modeler, but this is definitely one of if not the best, most accurate R.M.S. Titanic model to date.

    When i look at Revell kits i feel they are like book with beautiful cover. You open it and face bitter reality. I think these are suitible in most cases (due to fitting issues and sometimes crappy instructions) for highly advanced modellers or folks with angel's patience. Which doesn't mean there are no good Revell kits out there. They are just demanding.

    Beautiful build on that titanic model. I love how you stretched the plastic to make rigging for the stacks and poles. I’m just going to use black thread on mine but I’m not doing the smokestacks either but would look nice.

  • @danielranderson9115
    @danielranderson9115 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great work. However I used copper winding wire from a phone charger for rigging. Excellent to work with. There should have been red piping on exhaust stacks. I also installed a 4 watt auto bulbs (4)in the interior hull and ran fibre optic stands (from a nite light of all things)through out the deck and stacks and masts by drilling tiny holes. By drilling numerous other thru the hull it gave lighting along the sides. I must say I started the model in 1987. Finished it in 2018 after it was in storage for 17 years. I’m good. Just sidetracked out of Canada teaching in Hawaii. O well. Still an excellent build by this video. Revell. The best but now all made in germany 🇩🇪

      Daniel Randerson Germans are world renowned for their experience in making literally everything close to perfect and good quality.
      The Tiger 1 tank for example was extremely hard to take down

    • @danielranderson9115
      @danielranderson9115 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      F.B.I. Yeah I’m aware of this fact. However during my continued finish, I requested new replacements of decals, flags that deteriorated, from germany, after now 15 months, no reply. So I made them myself from flags found on packaging on different product labels. I’m not saying the company ignores me, just never received. In the olden day the company replied or sent within weeks.

    OUTSTANDING. Impressive. I am not particularly into ships (which often seem to me way more complex than aircraft), but this view on the most famous (and probably most beautiful too) ship ever built has certainly caught my attention in more than one detail, namely all that detailing on the deck. Magnificent work.

    • @neiljosephbennett9119
      @neiljosephbennett9119 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is an RC conversion possible at this scale? It's been done on the Trumpeter 1/200 version, but at 1/400 there surely isn't much room for all the mechanics.

    • @prestonparker2951
      @prestonparker2951 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neiljosephbennett9119 i think there would be for micro brushed mechanics, but to be quite honest, I wouldn’t go for it cause of all the work put into scale detail. Plus, you’d have to make it water tight.

    Really interesting. I think if you like building more than painting, you'll stick to big plastic models like from Revell.
    If you like painting more than building, you'll stick to Miniatures like e.g. Warhammer 40.000
    I'll definitely stick to minis, but this was a nice journey to a different side of plastic models.

    Once again you take a regular model kit and get a museum quality display piece out of it. And I love the tutorial quality of your vids, Just great!

    You did a nice job on this. I have this model I bought in the 90s. Thinking of restoring it and using the photo etch.

    Could acrylic artists paints be used on plastic styrene models or wouldn't it stick on the surface very well?

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a good question... 1st they can and you get great and fast results... however tge styrene surface must be primed first or even washed on warm water and soap eith a bit of vinagre... if you do both sequances its even better (prime last of corse)... then you have these new acrilic paints that are great and Tamyia wich they clame to be acrilic but they are more laqueur than acrilic... i sometimes use tamyia paints directly on plastic surface they are so so good that grab the plastica and gi e great results... but i would advise to prime always first..

      Tamiya paints are acrylic, not Lacquer. Their spray cans are a blend of acrylic and synthetic lacquer

    This is awesome! I built the Academy version of the 1/400 Titanic model, and I can say, yours is much more detailed! I just wish I had an airbrush so I could make mine look that good.
