Why does this thing have to be so expensive it's a toy for crying out loud it should be affordable for everyone I guess I could just buy a bunch of plain lego bricks and build my own titanic for cheaper some guy did that on you tube and his version had more pieces than this one it had 11,000 pieces but wasn't as clean looking as this one
What an absolutely masterful set. I don't own it, but I saw it on display at my nearest Lego Store, and my God, what a beauty it is to behold. It's almost DOUBLE as big as I expected it to be, and just glimmers a majestic aura that I can barely attempt to describe. To those who own this set, I envy you so much, as this set is something we may never see again. I hope that someday I can get this set and set it up on display, because DEAR GOD!!! this is something special.
After scrambling and calling all over town to get this set, as it seems people are buying these and reselling for 40% mark-up on the internet which ends up screwing the parents trying to get one for their kid. He's not a spoiled kid by any means, he's worked hard in school and is truly a good kid. Anyway, I finally did find one, not easy by any means. Got it for my son's 15th Birthday and he was so excited because he's a huge Titanic fan and has been for many years, so I was determined to get it for him since he gets good grades. I normally don't spend this kind of money on Lego's for my son but he earned it. Lucky I could find one at regular retail price. I was somewhat worried he would have a hard time finishing it. Its a huge build with over 9,000 pieces and the box weighed 32LBS. My son finished it in 3 days and it looks wonderful. He was definitely on a mission to get this kit built. He's over the moon. He added some interior light effects and looks amazing. If your in the market to get one, goodluck on your search without being by gouged by internet resellers. Be patient and call around the different lego stores and get there early, they will not hold them for you.
@@BreadBreeder42 You can find used ones that people sell for a decent price just make sure you wash them in soap & water. But its always better to get a new one if yiu can. Perhaps you can ask your parents for an allowance in exchange for chores., then save up. Goodluck young man.
I just watched the Cobi RMS Titanic build before this video. Some of the commenters were comparing it to this set being as good. Are you kidding? My son and I have been building lego sets for over thirty years and nothing compares to Lego. We built the New hope Star Destroyer and was the biggest and funnest set we ever built. We’ll probably buy this set for ourselves this Christmas. If people want to waste their money on that other crap have at it.
My biggest build so far has been UCS Millennium Falcon but after seeing this video I can seriously say my saving will commence and I shall own this kit by Easter 2023
That whole “The IceBerg did it.” Is nothing more than conspiracy theory! Rumor has it Iceberg wasn’t even in the vicinity at the time of the sinking! So Iceberg refused to sit and have his likeness scanned for this set. I don’t blame him. He’s just a patsy.
i couldn't believe how true to scale this set's design was - after building i tried floating it in a bathtube and sure enough it sank in exactly the same time as the real ship (when factored for scale). my set now resides in a few pieces at the bottom of a 200 gallon fish tank.
@@idiotthatsstupid The hull is like a real ship hull and not like an axe head. The Lego model has two bends at the side and not a smooth shape. And the bow is too steep. Overall, the Lego model is too clunky. Not to mention the price value ratio.

The moc version is kinda weird the bricks stick out on the hull in the front and back where on this version the hull is smooth all away around this one has more of a rounded bottom where the moc version is totally flat
@@biged680 I'm pretty sure it's actually a design thing. Some older set boxes lose shape as the bags push the cardboard out. These extra boxes are designed to hold the weight of the bags. You will find it in a lot more sets than just the ones you named, especially 1500 piece plus sets from the last 3 years

I'm confused by your edit - when you're building the first section of the stern for some reason it's actually footage of the bow (as there are boilers where the gaps for the engines should be) Watch it back to see what I mean
Yes, i also notice the middle section (which is done in two parts) is actually just part 1 repeated twice (Boiler room bulk head) until it gets to the top visible section.. In the actual build Part 1 is the boiler bulk head and part 2 is space for the engines from the stern.
Because that section of the ship housed Boiler Room 6, which had four boilers and was at the front of the ship. It was one of the compartments to be damaged and started flooding when the ship struck the berg
The real titanic was already damaged before it hit the iceberg there was a fire in one of the cole bunkers that was allowed to burn which damaged the hull in that location which is why in some old photos you can see a big black mark on the side of the hull that was the damage from the fire
Building the mid-section may not be as much fun as the rest of the ship, but overall, building the Titanic is by FAR the best time I've had building any Lego set.
Just thought I would point out that somehow your footage from bag 5 at the bow(4:46), ended up as bag 29 at the stern section but reversed(24:19). I noticed that we were seeing a rear boiler room where the engines go, but then they were there several steps later. Plus the pool made a comeback on the opposite side. 😉
Hypothetically, if an infinite number of monkeys were given infinite Lego pieces to put together, and given an infinite amount of time, one of them would build this haphazardly.
This is not really a speed build he just speeds up the video to make it look like he's going fast plus he edits out most of the parts where he's reading the directions

It was no small task and the connectors are tiny, but the end result is absolutely stunning. The lights make this thing come alive.

It has a bit fewer pieces than the MOC version of the Titanic you built about 3 years ago, but I'm surprised you actually managed to build it.
