The rarest CD I have is also Blonde, I got it earlier this year from a reseller at $13. I lucked out. Part of me was worried it was a bootleg, but thankfully it isn’t.
@@landen3306 Yeah there was! I actually bought one just to see what it was and the Blonde CD was a pretty decent bootleg while the CD for channel orange appears to be real
80's-90's promo cds with unique mixes, Japanese presses, and classic music recorded before 1985 reissued on third party licenses to labels like Wounded Bird, Hipo-select, Kent, etc. Cd reissues by BBR and Cherry Red from the UK pressed within the last 15 years fetch a decent amount because they have bonus tracks and weren't pressed in huge numbers. I have the Madonna Japanese singles box and I found it clean from a US seller from a grand so I took the plunge. It was $300 new in 1996 and it includes 3" singles of all of her 7" mixes which are not available on cd. I just paid $750 for Lee Moore's "Your wish is my command" which is some early 90's sounding indie soul. Someone else paid over $600 so that price stuck and when I saw it I dropped the bucks. I also paid $550 for a Keith Sweat single called, "Your love" Parts 1 and 2 which featured Teddy Riley. I'm a serious collector and pay up for the few I need.
Oh jeez those sounds like quite the find... Its cool to know so much about why certain Cds are rare too. Since im mostly into newer music (i have nothing against older music I'm just fairly young) most of the CDs I get havent had quite as much time to have those odd variants. But when I go to discogs and see that the used CD i just got isnt the one that everyone has, i get excited and try to find out where it came from.
@@senku1396 I didnt realize this but damn, yeah. To be fair, I dont have anything thats insanely rare or like actually impossible to find, just some stuff that has gone up in value. I guess the ofwgkta ppl have just done their merch well and only made just enough CDs each time (and made some albums that aged well)
