Getting to Cony Pass is miserably loose scree but still class 2. The final gully up to the flat tundra walk (I show it at 4:39) is class 3 and not too bad. I accidentally came down a different gully (immediately to the first gully's west) and that was a bowling alley of loose scree (honestly one of the sketchiest things I've done in the mountains) so I recommend sticking with the first. That said there are probably easier gullies one can take coming from Bluebird, so that might be the better way to go.
I didn't know there was such a reasonable way up Ogalalla via Pear (I did it via Ouzel peak and Bluebird lake) but I have always liked the Pear lake route to get Elk Tooth.
Awesome summit and congrats on finishing all RMNP 13ers
Liked it! Thanks for sharing!
That’s a long ways.
congrats, quite a feat. great shots, use more audio about what we are seeing
Wow looking at the map, that one is way out there, 21 mile round trip with 6200' elevation gain. I don't think I've seen any other video of Ogalalla.
Congrats. I dont see too many reports from Pear Lake. Most of them from Bluebird. Was it class 3 or higher up on the ridge?
