    There have been more studies, some showing far worse 12:1 and even 21:1 conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A. The conversion also varies drastically based on genetics (certain European genes heavily reduce it). Essentially, a decent portion of the population is incapable of ever converting enough. Without consumption of animal products, many will be deficient.
    Also, my own personal anecdote I eat primarily beef and eggs with butter, and I recently added cod liver to my diet for the omega-3(didn't trust rancid capsules). I didn't even realize it had SOO much vitamin A. Anyways, I noticed a week or so later that my morning and nighttime vision was significantly better. I guess dozens of eggs a week were still not enough for my needs. I'm curious why my diet wasn't enough.

    I'm watching this, just after I just cooked and ate liver for the first time a few hours ago. I avoided liver so long because of the fear of vitamin A toxicity. But after months of research, I found out it is safe to consume (I hope). If you just do it in very minimal amounts of just an ounce.
    I mean I've heard of the people who eat liver everyday and the people who eat a full pack of liver. I'm only looking to probably eat an ounce like 2-3 times a week and keep the rest in the freezer.
    But due to my damaged gut from sibo and autoimmune disorders. I know I'm lacking so much in vital nutrients and minerals. And all those symptoms I've been suffering with for a while, like the night vision, skin issues, peeling skin and more. Especially how my old diet was for many years prior, where I mainly ate garbage all day. Where I barely got any neccasary nutrients in my daily before.

    Vitamin A toxicity => calcium deficiency; if you don't absorb enough calcium and magnesium your bone will be (over)used.
    Not synthetic but artifical form is problematic I mean retinil-acetate it is a liver poision because of water solubality liver can't store too much because it will precipitates out.
    Intracranial pressure => calcium deficiency problem you can find as side effect of calcium channel blockers medicine (Japanese study).
    Polar bear story was cadmium poisoning in fact (liver of polar bear accumulates cadmium; water contains cadmium on that land)
    For every 30000 IU retinol you will need 1200mg calcium, 600mg magnesium (you won't beleive but dolomite is the best; or corall calcium is even more better) and min 3000 IU vitamin D

    I took Accutane back in 2003 in high doses without the supervision of a doctor for six months aka. Black market. I remember that I bleed out of my nose everyday and permanently lost my sense of most of my smell. I developed as well a permanent bloat. No mater what i eat i will alwayshave have bloating and indigestion. I've been depressed for all those years as well. No one told me as a kid that sugar and dairy can cause acne. It was a simple fix.

If it is possible to have vitamin a toxicity due to accutane, can I consume foods rich in vitamin a such as eggs, meat, liver, cod liver oil? or maybe creams or serums with retinoid will affect me and the toxicity will be more serious?

Which is "better" I have no idea, some are diluted with other oils, I don't let perfect be the enemy of good variety.

    How does one tell the difference between natural and synthetic vitamins?

    • @gentleoldmoviefan5680
      @gentleoldmoviefan5680 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Excellent question. This video (Dr. Berg's presentation) would have been significantly better if he had taken the time to explain that distinction. Also, perhaps why that distinction was important in the first place. These important details would have improved the video immensely.
      (Rather than just going with the assumption that "natural" is better than "synthetic". It is my understanding that that can actually vary, according to the vitamin under consideration. Though I do prefer food-based, when it's possible /do-able.)
      BTW, I take Innovix Labs' "3-in-1 Formula" softgels, which have: Vitamin K2 (both the MK-4 and MK-7, with amounts specified for each), Vitamin D3 (5,000 IU), and a reasonable amount of Vit. A in each pill (900 mcg, or 3,000 IU , from "Cod Liver Oil and Vitamin A Palmitate"). They're a high quality company, and I trust their supplements.
      I know it's very important to not over-take Vitamin A.

    • @solomani5959
      @solomani5959 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Helenegardener I hope no one. Just an example of how bad it can get so you probably shouldn’t supplement it.
      But A accumulates in your fat, not water soluble, so you can get to high levels by eating too much liver over a long period of time (or via supplements). Body can’t easily get rid of it.

    • @solomani5959
      @solomani5959 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Helenegardener yep yep. Each to their own. I use to have liver or just a liver supplements and had side effects so avoid it for now. Narrowed it down to copper or A1 overload.
