Carl Lentz was known as the rockstar pastor of the global megachurch, Hillsong. He was cool, hip, and in with celebrities and Hollywood elite. He even became best friends with Justin Bieber and had the young popstar living with him. Carl Lentz built a congregation of 10,000 a week that drew celebrities like Kevin Durant, Chris Pratt, Selan Gomez, Kendall and Kylie, and more… Every Sunday there was a line that went around the block as if people were waiting for access to a nightclub. Carl Lentz was one of the most prominent pastors in the United States… Until he wasn’t. This is the story of his scandalous downfall and betrayal that involves much more than just a mistress (or three).

Hi hi! 👋🏾 Video chapters below. Who should I cover next? Apologies for getting this out so damn late... I tried something new in my research/editing process and it backfired, lol. I also had to rewrite Chapter 5 about 3x due to all the scandals that kept breaking. Hope all is well! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. 🍿

Like Jesus himself is absolutely punk rock. The idea of loving so hard that you go out of your way to love absolutely everybody regardless of status-- even deliberately loving those that society tells you to ignore-- doing all that so hard that it pisses people off. Run to Jesus!
      Trust in Him alone!
      +
If you have defected from God then read these Scriptures: (Lost Sheep, Luke 15:1-7 - Lost Coin, 15:8-10 - Lost Son, 15:11-32 - Rich Man and Lazarus, 16:19-31) Jesus is calling you back home, read His word, believe and repent. Saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone!
      +
The world is racing toward "AMAGEDDON" !!! And people need to get right with the Lord!
If you have not read the books of (Daniel chapters 7-12), (Ezekiel chapters 37-39) (Matthew chapters 24:1-51 + 25:1-30), (1 Thessalonians chapters 1-5), (2 Thessalonians chapters1-3) and (Revelation chapters 6-19), now would be a good time. They will explain a lot about what is going on right now!
These books will cover the "Wars" about to come, the catching up / the blessed hope, World judgement, hence the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation! These books will also be the most ominous and scary for the unbelievers and the most exciting and uplifting for those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!...
It is my hope and prayer that people would repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before all these things take place, because it is going to be very, very scary if you do not and you decide to wait and see what happens.
      +
May the Lord encourage you to seek the truth, in Jesus' name. Amen and Amen.

I'm Australian where Hillsong originated from. This is NOT a church, it's a cult. The difference to this so-called church is the people who attend go there for blessings. A true Christian must not seek blessings they must be the blessing. How? By feeding the hungry, cloth the naked, give shelter to those in need and generally helping those who need help, this is Gods will.
Also a Christian must understand what 'Church' means. Church isn't a building or a religion, it means "all those who believe and have Faith in Jesus the Christ". You can offer nothing to God but filthy rags, you can only please God through Faith and do what he says, be the blessing expecting nothing in return, it's a real honour to carry out Gods will, the fact that you are doing his word, you are the blessing. Amen😁

One of the best documentaries I’ve watched anywhere! Back in 2008, I remarried and was introduced to a Pentecostal church who was all about Hillsong music. I noticed some strange things, but just figured I didn’t grow up Pentecostal, I grew up non denominational. 3 years into my marriage, I got breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy. Right after I lost my breasts, my husband filled for divorce. Turns out, he had been cheating with another church member. I was in a bad place health wise. Once he left, the church left me too. It gave me church PTSD. I just worship Jesus on my own. I’m still single. I’m healthy now, reconstructed and my heart finally healed.

In a way I would like serving a position in a church, but not any of these heretical mega churches. And certainly not as a pastor. God gave me the gift of teaching. But since I never went to Bible school, I use my gift in helping people to stop trusting in the man-made doctrines and traditions of men, and using the scriptures alone. However, I know that I am more accountable to God in what I teach as opposed to just some dude attending church services. The more a person knows, the more accountable they will be on the Day of Judgement when God will judge every believer for what they did on earth as well as how they made use of the talents (spiritual gifts) that they were given.

You need to be, obviously, in a close relationship with God to be in a Christian leadership position. This will allow you to remain humble. Without humility you're bound to fail.
I think these people probably started off with good intentions, but the more their church grew, the more it became about just becoming bigger.
The pride and ego comes in, they take their eyes off God, it becomes all about them, even deluding themselves that they're doing great things for God - while not seeing how far away they've strayed from anything that even resembles true Christianity .

This "woman" actually said that she got involved with a married man because she didn't "want to judge him". Then, she said that "people have forgotten the concept of religion". I'm convinced that people don't understand what "don't judge" means. Those 2 words are badly overused today. While we can't judge an individual, we have a direct mandate to judge the situation. If someone is married, you don't get involved. It's very simple.

@@lysandracaspez578 And, here's another thing that bothers me. You hear people say, "I don't go to church because they're judgmental." I have a problem with that and here's why. Yes, there are judgmental people in the church. There are also judgmental people in every day life. If you go to church just looking for judgmental people, you'll find them. But if you go truly seeking the Holy Spirit, you'll find Him. People see what they want to see. Besides, we're not there to worship the other people. There's one more thing that bothers me. I have never heard anyone who was doing right say, "Don't judge me." When people are doing right, they're not worried about it. Every time I have ever heard anyone say that, they were doing wrong. They knew in their heart that they were doing wrong and didn't want to be judged. I'm sick to death of the "don't judge me" thing. Personally, I won't judge them anyway. But, people use it as an excuse to do wrong and don't want anyone to say anything about it. It's just another one of Satan's tricks. He knows the Word of God better than we do.

@@MeCanik79 People see what they want to see... right, you hit it right on the nail but you don't apply it to yourself. Ive been involved in many open conversations about faith with very religious people and even the kindest of them end up judging others for their actions, thinking its oke to say you burn in hell forever and ever just because you didn't let Jesus take the wheel. What you want to see is a non judgmental group that love and supports others and so you block you the possibility that many people are just super judgy in nature, they think it's oke to think you burn forever and get blocked out of eternal bliss, just because you don't believe there is a big person in the sky behind the circle of life. If you say you don't believe in god people say people will tell you you're being rude but it's oke for religious people to tell everyone about their convictions, which are build upon a time we don't even live in, build on morals that are deeply flawed and build in a system where religion was used to control the mass, not to lift them up. Is interesting how that conversation always goes one way, even when you try to be open to it. The problem is that you need to KNOW that he is there as a true believer, which leaves out the possibility to accept that you might be wrong, which closes off the whole conversation/acceptance of others that don't. I've looked for faith, i really needed it and i tried, but in the end i could not find it and you should be oke with that and accept the chance that what you believe might not be true, we just don't know, there is just belief. If you can't accept that you instantly judge me as being wrong, which debunks your whole argument about being so accepting and non judgemental. It just doesn't add up man.

My comment was directly referring to my knee-jerk reaction of the joke told about "church-stalking," rather than a critique of the whole movement. It made me extremely uncomfortable to think that anyone anywhere would use behaviors like that in Church to try to get closer to a person they wanted to be in a relationship with. I personally would be very uncomfortable if someone came up to me unprompted and did something like that, knowing that they may have been "church stalking" me. I hope that helps to explain.

I’ve seen every deception and abuse play out. Though today I’m beyond grateful and blessed for the experience. Going to that church taught me about people and how they move. It prepared me for life. It didn’t shake my faith in God. Just church folks 🧐♥️

I think part of the worst thing about our ex pentecostal church was the 5 hour long services indoctrinating us. Plus don't forget our been forced to go on a trip once a year for some American scammer to take more money from us. We are not well off due to ill health but we felt we had no choice but to go and got into more debt each time plus having to tithe. Lastly the judgement of everyone in that place judging appearances and private lives about everyone there so you knew they were doing it about you. You attending and finding God wasn't enough you had to have nice clothes and expensive hats. Never again for us because my God didn't come for the rich he came for the poor and sinners. Put me off church forever. So whilst we don't have such massive churches they work together to get as much tax free money from us as they can get and don't care about us generally.

As a former “insider” of a mega-church myself, this Hillsong pastor is more the norm than the exception. The only difference is he got outed. That’s it. The staggering hypocrisy and secret double life of these “people of faith” would stun outsiders. Greed, sex, and outright lying is rampant in the evangelical world- especially among the household names and leaders. It’s a phenomenal business with a very slick product that has believers forking over their checkbooks at every opportunity. Look past the Hollywood stagecraft, private jets, designer suits, teams of image consultants, movie and music production, concerts, publishing arms, real estate holdings, political action groups and one sees a profit machine raking in billions TAX FREE. Plus immense political power and community influence all over the US and the world. They are only getting bigger, more powerful, and more influential with every passing day. The ONLY way to slow it down- but not stop it- is to take away the tax exempt status of all religious organizations, which will never happen in the US. I have no issue with a business making billions selling a product- but the tax exempt status allows unfair competition that other categories of business cannot claim. The loosely interpreted “prosperity gospel” has become a license to print money. Doubtful Jesus would approve since he clearly stated “easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man into heaven” or “give away all your possessions and follow me” or “blessed are the poor” and on and on…

    • @christalone253

@sdarling6518 the Word of God teaches the true gospel. Many false gospel and false teaching warnings in the new testament. Colossians 2: 16-19. Plenty of references in Galatians and Timothy as well. Jesus said to enter through the narrow gate, few will be able to enter, broad is the way that leads to destruction and many go that way.
Hard part is the broad road is labeled heaven and is full of false gospels and false teachings. You have to know the narrow truth to be able to discern the lies. You don't hear the biblical gospel preached much nowadays because it's offensive to a sinner...what u see today is people making false professions of faith and hoping Jesus will give them what they want. You could dig into Scripture and study the depravity of sin, the fallen nature of every man, and how extensive that is...only God can redeem someone from that extent of depravity. The problem is people measure themselves by their own standards and think they are good people. Only a contrite and repentant heart can be regenerated.

    • @christalone253
      @christalone253 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@sdarling6518 I replied to this yesterday and that comment has been hidden. Scripture determines the true gospel, every word in the Bible is God breathed. Plenty warnings for true believers to not be deceived by false gospels and false teachings in the new testament. Colossians, Galatians, Timothy, and Philipians. Christ himself warned of sheep in wolves clothing, the narrow gate of truth and broad road of destruction in the synoptic gospels of Mark, Luke, and John. Our creator has the authority to determine His gospel because He is the one who lived it, wrote it, and sacrificed of Himself that made it the power for salvation. False gospels that do not start with the bad news of sin and the fallen nature of man will never allow a sinner to understand what the good news of the gospel is. Hence, why my comment was probably hidden...the truth of the gospel is initially offensive to a self protective sinner. Anyone who has truly been born again knows what they have been saved from...its not merely just an attitude adjustment or behavior change.

The bible is very clear about the sin homosexuality. It doesnt mean that lgbt people should not be loved, respected, & treated as equals. But to affirm their sin is not what a loving christian would do. It is not love to affirm a sin when the result could mean eternal damnation of the soul. Love the sinner, not the sin. This applies to all sin. Adultery, greed, blasphemy, ect. If you repent to the Lord & make a real effort to stop sinning you can begin to have a real relationship with Christ. There is no sin too great & terrible that Jesus will not forgive so long as you genuinely repent & love him.

I feel slightly bad for her, bc she didn’t deserve that treatment from her husband. But, at the same time, I don’t feel bad for her….she was right there, front and center, enjoying the spotlight and fame and attention, buying Gucci and mansions and flashy cars off the backs of all the people who attend their “church”, whether rich celebrity or just one of the nameless, faceless people who have been convinced that they can buy their way into heaven for 10% of their money.
That wasn’t enough for them though, so instead of hiring assistants, drivers etc, they used people in their church as if they were indentured servants, and apparently treated them like crap, while not paying them for services rendered. How did they do that? By abusing their position of power, by acting like they were “god’s” special messengers, by pretending to be morally superior and by believing they shouldn’t have to go and earn money at an actual job bc that is below them.
They BOTH got caught up in greed and the “celebrity lifestyle” to the point they felt entitled and special.
At the first signs of infidelity, she could have left him, but that would expose his lies and put their lavish lifestyle at risk. I’m sure he lied to her, but she lied to herself too, not wanting her house of cards to fall down around her.
She wasn’t fired bc her husband cheated on her, they didn’t kick an innocent woman while she was down. They both got fired as a result of being greedy liars. Then they got rewarded with severance packages and a free mansion for half a year, paid for by Tyler perry!
I’m sure they will continue the grift for years to come.
No, if I feel sorry for anybody, I feel bad for their kids, seeing their hypocritical dad cheat on their mom, while preaching purity at everyone, and showing their kids they don’t have to earn a living, just steal/tithe from lots of other people with jobs. They will be lucky if they don’t turn into spoiled, entitled adults like their parents.

The goal of the adversary is to make us weary of the term "Christian". Any word that has Christ in it is power. I understand when "people" let us down, we get so turned off by "Christianity". We have to remember, that we don't allow people the represent the perfect Christ. We are all fallible. Let's base our faith in Christ, not in the people who falsely claim they represent him. His ways are higher than our ways, but the adversary comes to steal, kill and destroy.

I used to frequent Hillsong in Sydney 17 years ago. A friend of mine passed away suddenly, and my friend suggested I see a counsellor from the church. I did, but I ended up making me feel worse. She was trying to investigate if things were happening in the church as she saw people speaking in tongues sometimes and wanted me to find out things. It really messed me up because I was grieving. Many people who I thought were my friends weren't they were only interested if you kept going there. They were always 'high from the spirit of god', so that clip of JB, etc. They could have been sober because people often acted that way. 💕

My parents are (still) both pastors and they are worse sinners than the people in their churches. My father multiple wives, affairs and kids all over the place. My mother is a covert alcoholic and likes to drive out of town on Friday nights to get her freak on in nightclubs with very young men. We’re talking 18-20 year olds. She’s in her 60s. Both are divorced (from each other and others) and are current pastors of different churches. Their churches are aware of what they are like and cover it all up. My father got caught touching womens bodies inappropriately in the prayer line. He still preaches. My mother had a full mental breakdown and left the country for a month ditching her car at the airport then writing everyone suicidal letters. Came back acted like nothing happened her church covered it all up.
