This type of in-depth analysis from both of you is definitely what is needed more in the relationship space in general. I loved How last episode Laura gave Carl the episode for him and now it’s her turn more, because only in that way can we truly understand what happened, how and how it can possibly be prevented from happening to others
I have really enjoyed watching these last two episodes. My feelings are all over the place, I am excited for them but i also hurt for them as they have dealt not only with their own struggles but also the lack of relationship from others who should have been there for them, or at least said something to them.... As a youth pastor for the last 20 years this has caused me to ask the question, "Am i responding to other peoples hurts and issues with God in mind or am i not responding because I am being selfish"? People don't need any other reasons to hate the church and church leaders, there is already too much to find in that. I need to model what it looks like to love others well, operate in grace for them and be an advocate of the grace of God. I cant avoid operating in grace because its hard or it might have a different impact on me! Thats not the Gospel!
Honestly, I watched his interview that came out a while back and I didn’t feel he was taking full responsibility. In this interview, I was hoping to see more of that which I did see some but in my opinion, there was still too much focus on Hillsong and the people they felt mishandled them during the situation. Full accountability is just taking full accountability and moving on. I wish there was more focus on what they are doing now moving forward to heal, and to glorify God. Time will tell and I do pray you stay on the narrow path. I understand it is a difficult one. In the end, I am rooting for all my Christian brothers and sisters.
I just wanted to thank you for this. Thank you for being so real. I went through this over 20 years ago as part of the worship team and it was with the worship leader. I was hauled into the ‘elders’ office (three men) and did bring my husband along with me after informing him of what transpired. No one spoke about this back then and no one from church reached out to me. I was abandoned. After trying to recover over ten years after the event, we separated and divorced. During the ten year period my life had transformed miraculously. However my husband was still haunted and wounded. The church remained silent during our pain. I left the church and God (so I thought). Fast forward 15 years later, I am walking with the Lord. I’m at church, but focused on God and not people. My husband and I remarried. Happy, humbled, and healed. God be with you both and your family.
There is a quote that "Christians are the only army that shoots their wounded." This was unbelievably brave and I am so thankful for your vulnerability. You will look back in awe at how much beauty, transformation and healing that God will continue to bring in your life and the lives of others through your honesty. Especially in this day and age the church needs to be broken down and rebuilt, transformed into being like Christ, so that once again we can start to be beacons of light to this dark world. Thank you!
There is some truth to what you said. We as Christians will kick each other when we are down and shame them like we are so much better because we didn’t sin like they did.
There are standards to be in leadership. God has forgiven him .But holding a leadership position is not possible. He can still share the gospel but not as a pastor. Serve God in a different way.
I completely disagree. Carl was living a life pleasing his flesh, it was not 1 or 2 mistakes. He was full blown living a sinful life. He only confessed AFTER getting caught. It’s not like he decided to confess out of the blue.
Most men can’t even admit the hurt they’ve caused another person. Carl takes accountability every step of the way, and what a great example of being redeemed. God is so good.
@@anthonylomonte3437We have all fallen short of the glorious standard. Be it most of us not in the position where Carl was. God knows the true condition of his heart then and now. Blessings to you.
Ya'll's story mirrors mine and my wife's story - was a worship pastor 7 years ago, betrayed myself, my marriage and my church, and my calling. been on the long road of repentance, becoming a truth-ful person. I've seen your moves on insta over the last few years and I could tell you were letting yourself die so that you could be re-born in truth and continued to learn how to stay in truth. keep allowing your body to stay tuned to honesty and truth. God bless brother.
There’s still a calling on your life brother! Don’t let anyone speak against what God has spoken to you! Your failures don’t disqualify the work that God is doing through you, keep pushing 🙏🏼
Oh you brutally betrayed your wife on a global stage? Happy for him with his healing, but truth is this guy drove people AWAY from Christ. Thousands of people
@@EASH1 ya he did and I drove people away too. Not thousands but some. I celebrate healing, and repentance. And their marriage and family reconciliation. He will never be able to change his past, none of us can, we can only rebuild trust over time, by action of honesty and truthfulness.
@EASH1 Accusation and condemnation are not the responsibilities of Christians because that is Satan's ministry. We should not seek to condemn those who have repented and turned away from their sins. Instead, we should follow the example of Jesus Christ and show compassion and understanding. As Christians, we should focus on helping others to grow in their faith and to overcome their challenges, rather than dwelling on their past mistakes.
In my opinion, the transparency of this discussion encourages self-aware individuals who are committed to personal growth to recognize that accountability and honesty are essential, not optional, qualities. To genuinely love God, one's spouse, and one's family requires a level of honesty that, over time, eliminates feelings of vulnerability.
I’m a long time Christian that has struggled with sin and ongoing sin. This was so real. And really refreshing. No sugar coating. This must have been so difficult to do. God bless you both for staying true, through the valley of the shadow of death, and out now to the other side
I started watching this out of curiosity but also from a place of judgment. And almost immediately I was blown away by Carl’s honesty and humility. He has truly done the work and I’m convinced he will continue to do the work. And Laura is a rockstar. What a beautiful person she is!
I am married with 2 boys and we are pastors, we love our jobs. But our journey to become pastors was through starting a ministry called celebrate recovery. I was a drug addict for a long time. I got so much healing and through the process of 5 years my wife and I became pastors. God has been good and has used our story in a powerful way. Carl…..you have encouraged me, I need to do some deeper work. I’m a campus pastor at a great church (kings church Canada)and I’m thankful tonight for your story. Bro…..congratulations on your sober time!!! Thank you !!!
My wife, daughter and son all went to the Meadow’s in Wickenburg Az. I went to all the family weeks . I studied what they were learning and it changed all of our lives! I’m really happy for you both! Great podcast! God Bless you both!
You can literally see the hard work Carl has put in, to fight for his marriage and family. When ministry becomes fame, it becomes dangerous. I recall being younger and listening to Carl. He was such a fireeeee preacher. Rooting for you guys ❤
When you are asked a question about sin you are responsible to God to tell the truth not beat around the bush to please men rather than God.If he has repented. God has forgiven him but he cannot hold a leadership position in the Church.Even If your children are not believers you can not hold a leadership position either.
@@anthonylomonte3437dude, you’re missing the hope point.they’re not trying to get another leadership position. Stop with the misconceptions and see this for what it is. Have some grace and love for them huh?
Gosh, this is sobering! Your realness & vulnerability when it feels like all guns are pointing right at you is amazing Carl! I just see the Lord looking at you and saying “this is my son with whom I am well pleased.” Laura you just are amazing! Thank you for not cutting any corners and being so real. The genuineness is just bursting through the screens. Thank you for not sugar coating anything! Declaring blessings over your family! The best is yet to come!
Both of these episodes have been raw, real, & refreshing to hear. I wondered when we would finally get your point of view. Thank you for not clouding it with excuses / blame or fluff.. people live their whole lives not knowing how to ever experiencing how to dig deep and look inward when life crumbles around you. Be Proud of how far your family has come.
I am grateful that the Lentz's are exemplifying what Jesus did with Peter when he denied Him three times - for each time Peter denied the Savior, Jesus restored him. No one is perfect and without sin, so grateful that the Lentz's are walking in the way Jesus set through Peter!
I can definitely relate to this in my current relationship. God spoke to me tonight and said I have to be completely open and honest with my wife that’s the only way we can move forward. For the thing that still bothers her I’m going home tonight to tell her the truth. Idk why I’ve lied so much over the years or involved myself with infidelity. She’s the strongest , most beautiful and kind person that I know. I owe it to her and my family.
I am a betrayed spouse, and I am praying for you and your wife. She will need all your patience and understanding right now. Get help from people you trust.
This is currently me. I pushed the truth and now we are on journey to recovery but it would have been “easier”- her words- if I told her and her not finding out.
Profound… “there’s no comeback, because the person I was is no longer here. That version of me has died. What is developed is a new person, a new life.” We are watching the beauty of true repentance and grace unfold. 😭
@@anthonylomonte3437 Yup! Though he ain't sharing his faith....and that's for damn sure! I'm pretty sure they never knew God in the first place👌 One things for sure....they got a Masters Degree in "CHURCH" 😬 All they did was talk about themselves! I was waiting for it but Jesus Christ never entered "THEIR" conversation! I guess not having the limelight and being a nobody could only last for so long.....👍
I really wanted to dislike Carl and continue to be disappointed in him, but this was extremely healing for me as well. Thanks for sharing your story & taking the time to work through your pain.
Thank you Lentz family for opening your wounds to us. So many people in ministry don't know how to stop to deal with their issues, and they're sadly living in self-deception. It takes guts to allow God to cut us open. I am so glad to see that God loves you guys so much to allow you to go through this healing. Proud of you and grateful for your vulnerability. Easier said than done. May the Lord hold your hands every step of the way of your restoration process.
Tim, Carl and Laura… can not thank you enough for sharing your growth & healing! This has blessed me on so many levels and I have sent it to friends in hopes of saving marriages. God is SO GOOD! May God continue to bless you all!
Yeah I'm impressed by the forgiveness of Laura and how it seems like she likes Carl even after what happened. I also give mad props to Carl for taking it on the chin and moving forward. His openness is going to help a lot of people in different ways. I also see a much stronger man, the righteous fall 7 times but get back up!
listening to this story has really just opened my eyes to the mercy and grace of God! The unconditional love of God that im seeing demonstrated through this couple gives me hope even as i deal with my own weaknesses.😭😭
And yet, they never talked about the mercy and grace of the Lord. He briefly mentioned falling into grace in the first episode in response to a headline. Other than that, there is no mention of God's work in them, mercy, redemption by grace, nothing. They fully attribute their healing and progress to therapy and their own work, which they are entitled to do. However, it is interesting from the Christian point of view, that person who spent years preaching the gospel, doesn't say I sinned and I turned to the Lord. Not saying that they took the wrong path. I believe that God uses therapy and all that to restore us. But do we give the glory to God or to the therapy/ourselves? Just a thought
Thank you carl and Laura.. I have been a part of church for a large portion of my life and had no idea that this is something i really needed to hear. Talking about ministry break down, your perspective on church culture inside and outside of it is healing to my heart. I dont ever listen to the TH-cam people who talk negatively about this church or that preacher etc. It always feels like they have a self appointed mission and motive. But you guys speak so soundly on some of the pitfalls that exist, and you do it from a place of love and understanding. I really appreciate that aspect. I feel like i have had years of therapy handed to me on a platter. Its a blessing to me and will be a blessing to so many. Keep doing what you're doing and im ao grateful that God is using you guys in such a profound way to bind up the wounds of some of his people / sheep.
Absolutely wonderfully and beautifully spoken. Your story depicts the gospel, which is the good news! We fall, we get back up with Christ, no looking back, no turning back. No, none go with me, still I will follow, no turning back. The story of truth, brokeness, loneliness, and betrayal to finding hope, joy, forgiveness, new love, and redemption. From a sister in Christ and her family - Carl, Laura, and kids - We rejoice to see you standing and loving one another. What a beautiful story, and we cheer you on to the next chapter. God bless.❤
"I miss preaching because I like what we're able to do. I know also what i'm created to do. I know what i'm good at. I'm a good preacher. God gifted me to be able to communicate things in a way a lot of people resonate" I run when I hear people say this, especially when the focus is on what they can do and not on what Jesus can.
Did God NOT give him a gift? Is it wrong to be human and miss what you destroyed? Y'all are some straight up Pharisees and hypocrites. Never mind that he's being open and transparent and owning his mess ups. God LOVES when we repent. We are supposed to welcome our repentant brothers and sisters back with open arms--that's biblical. Casting stones is for the world, not for us. Knock it off.
We all make mistakes. Who are we to judge another person if we also make mistakes? Let's pray for each other instead. The world will be a better place. God bless you all.
Well the Bible says we are to judge righteously and adultery is not a mistake … it’s a choice. It’s a horrible choice with long lasting consequences. Trust me I know.
I am thankful you are both telling your story. I am a betrayed partner who unfortunately had to walk away from the addicted love one because they refuse to get help. You are very blessed Laura, but it is not easy even though you both commit to the work. Please pray for me - it is so hard when help and healing is available but the loved one chooses their flesh and sin.
I'm really happy you both came out with this podcast. My cousin is trying again with her marriage. Fortunately she let go of her toxic friends and has decided to start couples and individual therapy. We're watching this podcast together (it's nice to have our friendship back). God bless you both 💖
This is probably the healthiest, honest, raw, very difficult to hear, heartbreaking, and beautiful story of redemption & restoration I’ve heard in a long time. I want to be a better Christian to people who go through hardship. My heart goes out to your family and children. I will be praying for your children as well. I pray the church as a whole can learn, reflect inwardly on our own lives, and be a healthy body of Believers. I found myself introspecting as I listened and thought I should call my Christian therapist for another session. 😊
Pastor lentz ive watched you for many years god bless you and your family please start preaching agian ive never felt closer to god as a recovering addict after the military you helped me reconnect and i have not found it like that since i used to watch 2 sermons a day and my connection thur how i understood with you was diffrent god used me to help a women ...alot deeper than that but first time i actually heard him speak in real life ....only the one time but you helped my spirit get there...never been there since ... i dont care what happend the lord was and still is using you...i wish there was a way to get in touch but i know thats not possible but please continue to lead.
I was rooting for you and your family the whole time. My heart breaks for what happened, but I’m so thankful you’re healing and you’re willing to be so vulnerable and opening up about the process. This is so valuable in the body of Christ. Praying for you all 🙏🏼❤️
Man, as someone who has been through everything you talk about it's so beautiful listening to the whole story. God does redeem and He does restore. Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing your story. We need this so much today. I prayed hard for my husband to go through "the work" as well but he just wasn't willing to really do it. I was willing to forgive and do whatever it took but it didn't happen for me as it doesn't for a lot of marriages. I hope and pray this will help marriages survive. Bless you both and your beautiful new journey!
I dont follow church tabloids and had no idea about what this was all about when I listened to episode 1. I just want to say thank you for sharing this, being so vulnerable. I have no doubt you'll get plenty of haters. Me, I love seeing a story of redemption. I am sure your family has suffered a lot and I appreciate that you share with us more about your journey from what seemed like something someone can't come back from, to something that has strengthened your family. Thanks Laura and Carl. I pray that this helps many who are going through similar things and are too scared to share with their brothers and sisters in Christ.
This is just WOW!!😢. I see the humble new change in your relationship and Pastor Carl n Laura. This is unbelievable. Healing starts within. It is so refreshing to see you being so raw and authentic because we all as Christians will fail. No matter the title and this is such a blessing to watch and learn from your examples of restoration, true healing and honesty! Wow so honest it hurts. But this reminds me that even I who has struggled with addiction being in ministry and feeling like I’m the only one dealing with the constant cycles of recovery and no one ever understanding me or no one knows my secret. Yet this is so refreshing to know we are not alone. This can happen to anyone. Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom to get to the top. Wow this is beautiful makes me cry. Im so happy to see your marriage restored and Laura your a great example of a woman of noble character Prob 31 all day! Continue to pray, fight for your love n marriage n family. This is unbelievably hard to talk bout these topics but oh so healing and Necessary. No secrets! I love this! This is going to bless millions of people. Don’t ever give up! God loves you guys so much. Love you guys. Glad your out of NYC. You guys are Awesome! Praying for y’all! Xoxo love u my family in Christ! Thanks for sharing and being sooo vulnerable. I needed this. This touches me personally. Love you dearly! Thankyou 🎉 I’m celebrating with y’all! From NJ I’m sending u all love!
Thank you so much for posting this and sharing your story transparently and gracefully. There has been so much noise, but I always value hearing directly from the source. Praying blessings on you and your family as you continue healing & moving forward!
Carl, you can even see it in your demeanor and in your eyes. You have peace and I am so happy to see. Laura, just wow. You are so kind and humble and charming. You are amazing. Love this podcast.
I see Freedom in these two people! It’s amazing how God can Glory through travesty even when it feels like life is over. It’s never over until God says it’s over… and I can see how God just used their past experiences to establish them into their next level and assignment! This is amazing to witness!💯
Thank you for being so vulnerable!! Your story is such a beautiful redemption story! I cried throughout the whole video! What a testimony! Thank you Jesus 🥹🙌🏻🙌🏻
Their relationship will flourish and grow even more than most despite Carl's past. It's so nice to hear them and I can see God has used this for His good. Praying for you both ❤
Fear the Lord. Best thing an addict can do. It will remove all idols and be the leading force in blazing a new path of freedom. Fearing God will keep you away from evil. It's not the fear of God, it's a fear of not being with Him. You desiring Him so much you cant even focus on evil. SO many scriptures on fearing the Lord. I pray Carl continues to walk in the fear of the Lord. 💯🙏🏾
If you haven't had SA as a kid it is very hard to make sense of what it does to you. From 4yrs old up, of course I struggled with drugs/alcohol. I'm now in recovery, counseling and 4yrs sober. Closer than ever to Jesus!💕😘💕
As someone who use to serve in the church, I appreciate the authenticity of your guys’s story. I too struggled with addiction while serving on the worship team at my church. I always felt like I couldn’t get help, because in my mind if people knew what I was going through, I thought I would lose the very thing that at that time in my life got me out of bed every day. People have to realize the church is made up of humans just trying to do the best they can, and the people who serve mess up and deal with the same demons everyone else deals with. Big and small. Unfortunately culture pushes this narrative that when someone in leadership messes up, we throw them out like trash. Ministry has a way of chewing people up and spitting them out and moving on to the next person.
As a PK, I relate to your feelings. Ministry is a lonely place. You are treated and judged differently. It's hard to be vulnerable and seek help in times of need in fear that our weaknesses as human beings will be portrayed as a weakness of the church
I “stumbled” onto this (yeah right…) just before my first appointment with a new therapist. I believe in my soul that God used this to bring multiple puzzle pieces together for sexual trauma in childhood that I’ve avoided addressing. I’ve told myself all the other work I’ve done, centered around Codependency, forgiveness, self-awareness, emotional regulation, was enough to sort of cover anything from that childhood season. I was so wrong. I was scared, ashamed, and was listening to lies I’d been telling myself since grade school. Thank you both for this gift of openness and bravery. Carl… you’re among greats still. King David, Moses, The Apostle Paul.. they didn’t sin in one off fashion either. God restored and did what He’s always been faithful to do because they handled their hearts through true repentance. My husband and I cherish your raw honesty, and healing looks damn good on you both. Laura, badassery has a new face for its billboard… You’re so inspiring and down to earth. So so relatable, and I want to thank you for going against the flow and protecting your family while fighting for yourself. Your story helped me this morning. Trauma changes the brain…So does healing🌿
Yes!!! I loved episode 1 and felt so proud of you both, this is clearly not easy for you and I get it having participated in both infidelity and addiction. In August it will be 4 years of sobriety for me and I've got a long way to go but I'm so happy you're speaking out about the struggles of that addiction coming back. Beyond excited and proud of you. Praying for you and your family and especially for you Carl 🙏 may addiction and temptation leave your side and keep building back the pieces that were broken down. I have CONTINUED to watch your previous sermons (or atleast the ones I can find) and I still appreciate your messages. Keep holding on ❤
As the Church, we go through valleys with each other and celebrate with each other. We must always be Godward. This life isn't about us. We partner with God. You guys went through hell and I'm so proud of you guys.
Carl and Laura: THANK YOU. Your courage to hang tough together is inspiring and fills me with greater Hope. Your story and your experience speaks to the deep deep toxicity that Christianity faces globally. All of us are human; but if we profess Christ as a savior and redeemer, we must get better and do better at loving and healing one another. Blessings to you and your precious family. ❤
1:02:08 I appreciate the point about "taking on someone else's offense." It's ironic because many people who were angry at Laura were upset specifically because she chose to forgive and stay with her husband. They were angry because she didn't respond the way they wanted her to. In doing so, they made something that directly affected her about themselves and their feelings.
Every single person goes through difficult stuff. I greatly respect how open and transparent they are being. When all of this happened with Carl Lentz years ago it really shook my trust in pastors and leaders. It amazes me how people can put a facade on and hide what is going on in secret. I truly hope that Carl Lentz will continue to share his journey and that he has truly changed. God can totally use all of this to help many.
Wowza, this podcast has been truly inspirational. Carl, your humility. Laura, your strength. May God continue healing and guiding you and your beautiful family ❤
Absolutely love these podcasts. Minus a few elements, this episode could have been a summary of my life as well. Keep talking so that others can find the courage to be healed as well!
Wow.. thanks for such an honest open conversation. More Christians need to be having these kinds of brutally honest conversations! Everything needs to be brought to the light and exposed if the church is ever going to heal from all the decades of abuse. I commend you both for being so real and raw. Rooting for y’all! You don’t have to be a pastor or be in ministry to have a good impact on peoples lives. ❤ Y’all are doing it the right way, and it’s honestly so refreshing to see and gives me hope! 🫶🏼
I’ve been listening to the podcasts when I’m out walking around Belfast. The honesty is refreshing and inspiring. Everyone makes mistakes, I’ve made a few bad ones. I’m learning a lot from these podcasts on how to heal myself and rebuild relationships
How do these people in Christian ministry never talk about biblical solutions to their problems? Using psychological labels rather than biblical ones. Does the bible not have answers for these things. What about words such as SIN, REPENTANCE, SORROW, PUTTING ON AND PUTTING OFF etc. Carl Letz is NOT a victim of his so-called "psychological disorder". The Bible does not talk about "addiction", it calls it "Bondage". Carl is/was in bondage to drugs etc. When you call your afflictions by bible words, you can then find biblical solutions to your afflictions. If you use psychological labels, you have to use unbiblical means to "heal". I would never want someone like Carl Letz to be my pastor. It does not sound like he believes that the Bible has answers for trials and afflictions. Everyone is using King David's affair to compare what Carl has done. The major difference is that David acknowledged whom he sinned against, and it was a Holy God. Carl responds "I failed my wife, I failed my church, I failed myself". Wow!!! No! You sinned against your wife, sinned against your church, but most importantly, you sinned against a Holy God. That was your biggest offense, Carl.
It is more the actions that matter rather than words. He has done the work. He has done the repentance through showing up every day, not according to him, but his wife who has suffered the most through all this. She attested to it. And what do you know about what they have gone through just from one video? He knows more than anyone the damage he has caused not only his wife and his kids and ofcourse his God. No matter what he says, it is the actions that matter. “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” Romans 3:10-12
@tomsicuan5704 Doing the work/sitting in therapy is secular jargon. He took a job at Mike Todd's Transformation Church. Same schtick: tax free money making machine, showmanship, celebrity, literally heretical/perverted sermons (have uou watched his m@stur b sermon?). Nothing's changed. James 4 1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Drawing Near to God 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Thank you!! I kept thinking, Is it me or have the interviews felt very secular? Other than a bit of name dropping God but God's barely sprinkled in. I kept waiting to hear what credit he gives God in all this, how their faith journey has taken lead, but not one, literally not one quote from scripture. The way he speaks about everything does not reflect any wrestling with God or how Jesus has done anything (HE is the reason anyone can forgive/be forgiven). Sorry but if I didn't know he was previously a pastor I'd have no clue they were even Christian from these interviews. A huge tell was when he said, "you've got to convince 4 people that you're changing" ...um, as a Christian, I'd say you've got to convince ONE person that you're changing...only then is everything else gravy. Otherwise any progress, growth, healing etc feels like it's all been of their own striving, but they're missing a greater opportunity here to give credit to WHOM credit is due! If therapy, talking, programs etc are the foundation then it's a foundation of sand and bound to crumble again. Their pain is genuine but if you're not giving God an ounce of glory, nor sharing if He had any part in your healing nor that being grounded in their faith is permanent solution going forward, then it's been in all in vain. I've seen more credit given to God on a football field than this nonsense!
Thanks for your honest talk, talk to each other, let both of you ask and answer, that’s a very equal/emancipated format and shows your growth, trust and appreciation for each other. I love and understand you being different now, changed, still sad about relationships, but also accepting the past and leaving it behind without saying all was wrong, but it was your life, your understanding, your passion, your faith at that time. I really like some of your phrases and they deeply relate, I wish people are touched or activated by your reflection and your changed life
Carl Lentz, you will absolutely preach the Word of God again and God’s people will hear, listen, and heal from those messages! Go back the Apostle Paul on his way on the road to Damascus and was knocked off of his horse and was blinded by the light to meet Jesus. He was absolutely transformed and brought the message of Jesus to many. In my infidelity earlier in my marriage, I was knocked off my high horse and blinded by the light to meet Jesus. I stand hear today 18 years later sober and enjoying my “2nd marriage” with the woman I married from my 1st marriage. The messages I preach today comes from a passionate place from a God of second and a thousand chances. I have many miles to go and have challenges to still face. You were built to last my brother and God is going to use you mightily and even better than before. You got this because God got you! 🙏🏽✝️❤️
I love this my situation is different but you have given me so much to think about and to pray about. I downloaded the B-Side app but I haven’t joined yet but that changes today. Thank you I know it’s hard telling your story because your reliving it over again but I don’t know your story and as I listen man I know I would have been that person to clap back because I do now Gods working on me but I see how hard it is to find friends in and out the Church sometimes I just rather hang out with some of my old friends because at least I know where they stand, they might not go to Church but there not bad people and we do talk about the Lord because He’s a big part of my life. Thank again ❤
I love hearing you two again. Thank you for sharing your story and everything that has worked for you. I was a host at Hillsong NYC. I got pregnant and I wasn’t married, we have now been married for nearly 11 years. I lost all of my friends. I stopped getting invited out. The texts stopped. Even had a host leader to tell me to leave the baby’s father so the baby and I could essentially stay saved lol. So interesting how the culture is. I’m never going to be part of a church again. They’re not with you through thick and thin.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Your next is even more powerful than your yesterday. You are helping those who are struggling and hiding to come out. Your transparency is powerful. Much love and blessings to you and your family ❤
God restores. I experienced the same failures yet God's grace are remarkable. So never condemned those who failed, we are all under an extra grace that the Lord bestows mostly to those who are repenting and restoring.. God is so good.
It was refreshing to hear all the areas that this affected including the children and how they were in the healing process as well, it was not hidden from them and all of you are the better for it. So many marriages in trouble this will help lots of them. A true story of redemption. Ive commented a lot because i am so proud of you guys and my prayers go out to you as you have come out by the grace of God and showing where sin abounded grace has much more abounded.❤❤😊😊
Ladies and gentlemen, I urge you to place your trust in the power of prayer. God has assured us that if we ask through prayer, He will answer. My own journey is a testament to this truth-transforming from financial struggle to earning $$$ every two weeks. If you're questioning whether God answers prayers, let my experience be a reminder that He does. Dedicate time to prayer, establish that sacred space, and be prepared for the change that is coming. Amen.
I gotta say it,…I’m so glad to see you and your family back !! But I also understand first hand healing and it being a Grave experience. Where hope isn’t present ….except within. But I’ll say one thing is still the same, I used to listen to you before and God spoke. But, even today …the healing you went through is ever present in you and your families story. 🙏🏾God is definitely being glorified.
You and your family are so brave!! To make yourselves so transparent on a public platform for the world to see in a step by step emotionally charged way is heroic, to say the least. So many will be encouraged to be brave, too, because of your courage. What can be said about this, but that you allowed God to be strong in your weakness. It's a beautiful thing!!
Happy for you both, your deeper love and appreciation for each other is evident. You don't owe critcs (like me) anything, you owe everything to your family (and God of course). I was reluctant to watch, but was glad I did, I've seen stories similar yours played out for over four decades, yours just happened to be on a grand scale. I think this might put the lid on some embers still smoldering.
I'm praying for you guys... it would make me so happy to see Carl who I felt so let down by, redeemed, restored and with a new found purpose and awareness and appreciation that it is God that all things work to the glory of, and with that understanding, after this season of humility and having to rebuild your life and marriage and family - that one day he can step out and fulfil his calling to preach the gospel and never again take for granted the blessing that God has put on his life.
I am thrilled to see you, your wife, your family, and faith.. healing! It's wonderful to see you on the mend. I pray you all encounter deep deliverance and freedom through this journey, and that your souls are completely and beautifully healed.. God bless you!
This was SO good. I've been rooting for Carl since it all went down. Why? Because he tackled it head first and THAT is commendable and admirable. Thank the Lord for you both and praying the Lord fully heals y'all and continue to use you both in this part of the body: that part that sometimes is "shameful" but necessary
Wow! I am so moved by your journey. You two are an example of the power of “Love” (God) and forgiveness. You are showing what’s possible when BOTH parties do the work to heal. Inner healing is NOT easy but it’s the greatest journey one can take with themselves. I loved what you said about the “comeback”… there is no comeback because the old me is gone. What a profound statement. Everybody’s always trying to have a comeback when what we really need is a come up. Thank you both for sharing your wisdom. I’ve been rooting for you since day one. I know firsthand how much a church can wound its wounded.
Beautiful. I didn't know who you were before all the news broke, but when it did, I started praying for you. God is so good. I loved this podcast more than you will ever know.
thank you for this pastor carl. i love you and support you. i remember you came to my church in chicago one day and spoke to the volunteer team. impacted me a lot that day. we’re all broken. God bless your healing journey
I am very impressed with this podcast and both of your authenticity. I think this was such a great idea and I, myself had a very different idea of you after all the media so you've taught me not to be so quick to judge for one. This has all become a part of both of your testimony not only to commitment to healing but to the strength of your devotion (Laura) to your marriage, the strength of both of your bond to each other, communication and the power of trauma that requires healing. Thanks for putting this out!
How have these last 2 episodes spoke to you? What feelings come up? We'd love to be in tune with YOU! Let's turn on the lights together.

The transparency is severe and we love that!
What an amazing journey, thank you for being so brave and sharing it with us! I'm so glad thing's turned around for both of you💕
Praise God for healing relationships !! With Him, with the church, and with your husband !!
Happy to read theres hope for me and my exspouse 😢🙌🏼also exworship leader here. Cant wait to see what God will do🙌🏼🙏
@@stephaniearana21 sending prayers your way💞
Glory to God for your journey and marriage 🙌🏽
…. What? All people shoot wounded… cancel culture, cultural wars over the course of history, betrayal is everywhere it’s not just Christians.
As he should.
@@atxjake ♥️
Truly rooting for this family! This will be their greatest work in ministry!
Folks, if you disagree with Carl about this interview on Instagram, He will block you! Need I say more? Seek the Messiah while there is still time.
I’m humbled. I’m so grateful Laura is vocalizing her journey. I thought Carl was going to dominate this series. ❤
I've learnt a thing or two, even with his kids, he just let them process while he listened.
really happy for you both!
@@Thomohawk21apparently he did accept another leadership position.
Gosh, this is sobering! Your realness & vulnerability when it feels like all guns are pointing right at you is amazing Carl! I just see the Lord looking at you and saying “this is my son with whom I am well pleased.”
Laura you just are amazing!
Amen the family are truly overcomers
I am grateful that the Lentz's are exemplifying what Jesus did with Peter when he denied Him three times - for each time Peter denied the Savior, Jesus restored him. No one is perfect and without sin, so grateful that the Lentz's are walking in the way Jesus set through Peter!
Authenticity is the new currency.
Great episode. 💛💯
It won't be easy, but the Lord is able to heal, He's healing our marriage as well.
Prayers to you. God’s got your back and I know God’s got your wife’s back even more.
This is currently me. I pushed the truth and now we are on journey to recovery but it would have been “easier”- her words- if I told her and her not finding out.
Profound… “there’s no comeback, because the person I was is no longer here. That version of me has died. What is developed is a new person, a new life.”
We are watching the beauty of true repentance and grace unfold. 😭
Maybe you are not me!
True Grace & Mercy! 🙌🏼
Good God does forgive but he is disqualified from holding a leadership position. He can witness and share this faith but not be in leadership.
@@anthonylomonte3437 Yup! Though he ain't sharing his faith....and that's for damn sure! I'm pretty sure they never knew God in the first place👌 One things for sure....they got a Masters Degree in "CHURCH" 😬
All they did was talk about themselves! I was waiting for it but Jesus Christ never entered "THEIR" conversation! I guess not having the limelight and being a nobody could only last for so long.....👍
@@constantineandreu9377can't dislike this comment enough.
I really wanted to dislike Carl and continue to be disappointed in him, but this was extremely healing for me as well. Thanks for sharing your story & taking the time to work through your pain.
Same! Definitely worth watching!
Same.
Your greatest sermon ever told. Truth faith love and restoration. Thank you both.
listening to this story has really just opened my eyes to the mercy and grace of God! The unconditional love of God that im seeing demonstrated through this couple gives me hope even as i deal with my own weaknesses.😭😭
Amen!
@@SariTrout I'm agreeing with that.
This challenges me to have greater grace for people! Thanks Lentz Fam
Same!
Yes, amen, same here!
Most of us are super glad Carl fam is okay! We love to see it
Absolutely wonderfully and beautifully spoken.
God gifted me to be able to communicate things in a way a lot of people resonate"
I run when I hear people say this, especially when the focus is on what they can do and not on what Jesus can.
Keep on running bro👀
@@RCGWho May God have mercy on you
From everything said this is what got your attention, may God have mercy on you, please rejoice when you see others progress
The transparency that is taking place is a blessing. I pray that we all get to experience this! It’s so freeing. God bless them.
Yes beautifully stated , let’s be to those that have fallen a helping hand up to restoration
Man these convos are so powerful. Thank you guys for sharing your hearts and hurts to help us.
It is such a blessing to hear these two podcasts. You sound different and very authentic. God is so merciful. Whoever is forgiven much loves much

“I’m looking forward to never being in that position again.” My favorite line in this interview.
This was so good. I was in tears the entire time, and I am just so happy for you guys and love you. It is so good to hear from Carl again.
What a joy to welcome back a brother who’d fallen away. Well done and thanks for the conversation.
Yes, true!
Definitely enjoyed this one better. Carl feels more relaxed which results in a deeper, less tense conversation. Loved it.
If you haven't had SA as a kid it is very hard to make sense of what it does to you. From 4yrs old up, of course I struggled with drugs/alcohol. I'm now in recovery, counseling and 4yrs sober. Closer than ever to Jesus!💕😘💕

I absolutely love the bravery and vulnerability here.. The world needs to see this from Christians! Thank you Carl and Laura❤
This is the reason why we need deliverance thats why people of God do deliverance..i hope you guys will go for deliverance
We have walked this road. Thank you for sharing and thank you for bringing us along to learn and grow from your pain.
Thanks team for creating these videos! What a blessing
1:02:08 I appreciate the point about "taking on someone else's offense." It's ironic because many people who were angry at Laura were upset specifically because she chose to forgive and stay with her husband. They were angry because she didn't respond the way they wanted her to. In doing so, they made something that directly affected her about themselves and their feelings.
i’ve got so much respect for you for this. Thanks for facing it and not just sweeping it under the rug.
Y’all had me crying this entire episode. Thank you for allowing us to walk on sacred ground.
One day at a time. Thankful for that saying. Carl and Laura, your story is inspiring. God is so faithful to walk with us through our mess.
I’ve been listening to the podcasts when I’m out walking around Belfast. The honesty is refreshing and inspiring. Everyone makes mistakes, I’ve made a few bad ones. I’m learning a lot from these podcasts on how to heal myself and rebuild relationships
Thanks so much for your honesty,. Just watched this with my wife both so challenged on our own communication.
If you hide behind trauma and labels it invokes sympathy. The whole church is having a love affair with psychology and therapy.
James 4
1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Drawing Near to God
7Submit yourselves therefore to God. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
yeah I’m also kind of shocked at the lack of the mention of Jesus
This is a refreshing piece. What a gift. What a rarity. Peace to you both. And continued growth. ❤
I really like some of your phrases and they deeply relate, I wish people are touched or activated by your reflection and your changed life
Pastor Carl, we love you so much, Sir, and thank you so much for not giving up on yourself and your healing journey .
No he is disqualified to
I love this my situation is different but you have given me so much to think about and to pray about.
I wasn’t a Carl fan before… but now I’m a Laura and Carl fan! I needed to listen to this. I went through so much and this has helped me ❤️
I love hearing you two again.
Well expressed Laura and Carl……. your honest conversation is a breath of fresh air 🙏
God restores. I experienced the same failures yet God's grace are remarkable. So never condemned those who failed, we are all under an extra grace that the Lord bestows mostly to those who are repenting and restoring.. God is so good.
Look at David a man after God's own heart, and I see that about you Carl Lentz. Such a blessing you and your wife are
the odd thing is God was hardly mentioned in these first 2 episodes. Perhaps later on they will get to it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂......serious!
@@danielkim672Exactly! The only knew "CHURCH"
His own heart, like be for real he was playing in the world and not having no relationship with God.
@@krystalbrown1306 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂....exactly! God? He know church tho👌Got a PhD in that yo😁
Amen.
I kind of just smile at at Jesus listening to this. What a wonderful Lord who never abandoned us. He is there in our
I gotta say it,…I’m so glad to see you and your family back !!
I appreciate both of your insights so much!
