Thanks so much! This was fairly easy with your help. Beforehand I tried it unsuccessfully. Especially changing the mode to prioritizing the load being most economic (mostly from PV or battery directly) was my pain point. Keep it up!

Great and useful video so thanks for that, one thing about logging interval, no matter how I try mine doesnt appear to allow me to enter anything less that every 5 minutes. Really would love some more granular data. Thanks

Thanks for the info, just to help, does that lives in (PR) do not choose Puerto Rico, my experience was no data, it will route you to the no US server, I change mine with a new registration using United Stated, and with the map locate my spot, that did the trick, got mine working.

I used your video when setting up mine wifi today: After i edited Interval Time then APPLY . The wifi disonnected and wifi module ligh is now solid green. I try reset it with a pin for 10 sec but nothing happens. Any ideas what I should do?

Thank you for the video . had been stumped trying to reinstall the wifi device after upgrading & moving the smaller growatt to a different location . It just wouldnt connect to the wifi of the new location until now !!!! Thanks again

Johan de Swardt, South Africa : I have a off grid, single phase 10Kw Solar system, With 2x Growatt 5Kw SPE 5000 ES 6000W Invertors, connected parallel to each other. Do I need to perches one Growatt Wi-Fi Dongle for each inverter? Or only one, for my whole system? Thanks

Some installers suggest setting up a separate "Guest" account on the router for connecting the Growatt dongle and server for security reasons. What do you think?
Hm, I'm not sure. I don't see a issue with connecting normally but there is nothing wrong with extra security. I've never heard that because 🤔
If you activate the internet does that disable the blue tooth mode? Or does it work either or without any changes?
Unfortunately there is no Bluetooth mode on the growatt
The update time interval won't stay after saving, if the inverter is turn off or batteries disconnect for a reason it will default back to 5 minutes
it also specify (min) can you use decimal numbers such as .02 ?
When I set mine up, that's what I did.
My installer did the initial WiFi setup for me, so I didn't have the opportunity to update the Interval Time value. Is there any way to do this via the web dashboard, or directly to the inverter through some web interface? Or will I have to go back and put it in hot-spot mode again to get to those settings?
You'll have to go through hot spot mode. Don't worry it's easy. Just push the button and connect via IP address.
Just FYI, It seems that the website interface has been removed in a recent firmware update. You have to configure via the app now.

The "add datalogger" option isn't there when I go to that website (I am in the USA). There's nothing between "add plant" and "add optimizer" showing for me. I created a "plant" but can't find anywhere to link it to my dongle. When I try in the app it says it can't connect to the server.
Is your web browser on sever-us.growatt.com?
Also when you made your plant did you pick residential plant? If you picked ground mount that's wrong
@@Roll2Videos thanks for the quick response! Yeah it is. It's showing up now. I'm guessing their login server was down or something. It looks different than it did a few hours ago and my datalogger is showing up in the system online at least though it isn't logging anything right now and says lost, as least it's further than it was :-)
@@chestnutplanter if you have your plant set as a ground mount it will not work. Maybe that's why it's not logging data.

Compared to other inverters this is very overly complicated for doing such basic stuff
what if the color on growatt wifi can't change? I've tried clicking it one time the result turns blue but it's not full, I tried clicking it again but it doesn't work. what is the solution for such problem?
I believe when it changes to blue it's ready to be connected.
If not, try pressing and holding for 30 seconds.
Very useful video. Has anyone had experience with an older unit (10yrs old)? I get stuck at the early stages because I cannot get the wifi dongle to go into connecting mode and get the blue light to appear at all. No problem re-setting (6 sec hold), but no blue light, no matter how long I hold the button.

I'm just trying to install the WiFi dongle. Unfortunately It looks like Growatt now want you to contact them for an 'Installer Code' in order to register your account. Which I will do, but no idea how long it will take to receive it though. It was a good video on the set up though.
Did you choose a residential or ground mount while setting up?
Residential or ground mount weren't options. I chose 'User', the other two options were installer or distributer.

@@Roll2Videos I'm in the UK, it turns out an Installer Code is mandatory whereas in the USA it isn't. I soon as I went onto the US Server, I could install it straight away! Thanks for your help.

Are you using Lithium batteries or lead acid?

Hi,I am having trouble connecting the growatt dongle wifi to growatt server. Kept on getting error messages cannot connect to server. You think because of my VPN?
It might be but I doubt it. If you are in North America and using the sever-us.growatt.com on the dongle and you vpn has you in North America as well it should work. Are you using sever-us.growatt.com in your web browser?

Today the password is growatt20220522 It changes everyday growatt(YEAR)(MONTH)(DAY) DO NOT reset to factory or wipe data OR do any updates. I'm on my 3rd dongle because I made these mistakes.
Also if you turn the inverter off over Wi-Fi you have to turn it back on over Wi-Fi the switch won't do anything to turn it back on FYI. that made me freak out one night lol
What did you do to get data logger on your page, does not exist on mine amd keeps telling me I need to add a plant before i van do anything

@@nodelayfordays8083 it’s not related to ur browser or any security settings in ur computer. It’s a company problem. Wait few days and try again. That what I did and magically worked smoothly.
Btw I contacted the company via WhatsApp, I tried all their solutions but no one worked.

I believe you can just start a new account and add the data logger to the new account
Yes,I did the same but instead of getting this blue screen that has the user and password, it is just giving the white screen that tells that I am not connected to the internet

I'm having issues setting mine up it shows as a locked network and wants the wifi password.
Did you update the firmware? I had to buy a new dongle after I had updated my firmware.
@@Roll2Videos I figured it out when/if it ask for a wifi password you have to use the 12345678 as the wifi password.
@Roll2 Videos is there a way to change the refresh intervals through the dashboard? Or do I have to rest everything and start over.
@@thumbless66 You won't have to redo the wifi settings but you will need to push the button connect the computer through Wi-Fi type in the IP, change the intervals then click apply. it will reconnect to the internet.

How do delete a plant which has entered by mistake?
Just getting ready to head out the door for work so without looking I'd say the easiest way is to deactivate your account with growatt and then re-register the account. I will try and get a better answer for you when I have a chance to look at the program. Thanks for asking

I assume then that Growatt Invertors do not have build-in Wi-Fi communication abilities, like most of then other invertors?

Unless you have a different unit it's on the side that says growatt. There is a black circle with the word key next to it.

@@ryancacanindin8238 During setup I came across an issue where I picked ground out as an option and not home. That gave me the same issue. It's been over a year ago sorry I can't give you more information.
I'm having the same problem, I was able to "add" the datalogger but it is saying offline on the dashboard. I have deleted and re-added it about 10 times but still offline :(
