I just bought this bumper. I love it. Wanted this since before I bought my JK. Solid bumper, heavy, very nice out of the box. Works well with the factory fogs. Easy to install, my only dilemma I ran into was the holes not lining up all that well to the frame brackets with the 8 bolts. The studs on the bumper were fine, but 2 out of the 4 on the outside of the frame up front were a pain to line up. But I ended up getting the drill out expanding the holes a little bigger with a 1/2 drill bit and it lined up... all to realise I was missing 1 bolt :( but nothing I'm sure I cannot have shipped out to me. so I can get under the jeep and throw it in and tighten it up to spec. solid bumper though, its not going anywhere. Driving down the road too you can really feel that weight too ;) I like it. Not bad price compared to other bumpers on the market and I find this bumper looks sexy as hell on the new jk too. Opens up more room for those wheels to make contact first.
Great Bumper I bought one for my 2017 JKU and it looks amazing. It was an easy installation and I also installed a Winch that fits perfect. I highly recommend this bumper
I have the SRC gen2 bumper. I can't really comment on the plastic skids, the one time I hit them on the rocks I hit smack dab in the center of one of the screws. It turned the screw head about 35 degrees and it is impossible to remove :(
Smittybilt offers a tow bar adapter for their tow bar. I have a Roadmaster tow bar. Do they offer a adapter for it. I already have the XRC Gen 2 rear bumper and tire carrier and I would really like to get the front bumper to match but the tow bar adapter is important.
+Dorsk84 I can't speak for sure on what smittybilt's plans are, however, usually how they roll out products are they start with JK and work backwards, so TJ should be next.
Smittybilt designs and engineers their products in Southern California (you can check out their facility here - th-cam.com/video/sK4BtLP94Q0/w-d-xo.html) but produces some items in China to keep production costs lower, which they can then pass on to the customer by offering their items at lower prices than some other manufacturers.
yes there is a small amount of drilling needed. here is a link to the install instructions: www.quadratec.com/sites/default/files/installation_instructions/214903.pdf
Nothing to drill for install on this one. Here is a link for the install instructions if you want to check it out before you get started: www.quadratec.com/sites/default/files/installation_instructions/214903.pdf

The issue for many is the lack of a decent license plate mounting system?????
prophotos365 they have mounts that cover the winch and will lift up when it is in use. actually pretty cool
Where does the licence plate go on

I wished they had that bumper in aluminum
Relocate the evap canister?
no, you do not have to relocate the vacuum pump
Quadratec thanks bro
will bumper be in a mid width bumper , with the nex Max D-Ring mount?
does the warn power plant fit without modification
+Aj Krump I just checked with Smittybilt, you will have to modify the bumper to fit the powerplant winch.
Is there any chance we can see this for the TJ or maybe bits and pieces for older bumpers. Like the light tabs or the wear plates?

Whats the weight on this bumper?
the shipping weight is 121lbs so it would be slightly less than that with all the packaging.
Why is it made in China? Just picked it up n that was the only down part about it
