Something wrong here boys, at 20 psi this thing should’ve made way more power. The first clue was that you needed that boost tee to keep boost. Waste gate is faulty.
I'm surprised they didn't run a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, that would have automatically added fuel as boost increased 1:1 . Also the ECM should have pulled timing in proportionality too the boost increase. That way they wouldn't have to worry about changing timing manually. I'm running a Terminator X-max and it does all that automatically after initial set-up....Seems they weren't adding fuel and pulling timing as the low HP numbers verify....
Those headers were way too small! It honestly should have made that power on 7 to 8 psi! Something was radically off! I honestly hope you weren’t @ 21psi! A crappy 4.8 with a 160$ turbo will make over 800! I honestly think the headers were killing it, way way too small, probably should have been 2 in, @ did anyone verify timing ⏱? Or even check EGTS? High EGTS will tell you if timing is way too low!
Wonder if it was having valve float issues. Hellion is known for high back pressure with resulting valve float on their Mustang kits due to poor manifold design.
Nah, this was mostly the wrong cam and wrong rocker set up. They were blowing their boost out the exhaust valve. The coked the crap out of that turbo also because the plug was WAAAAAY to cold.
Sorry mate, at 2:29 wrong, a turbo DOES NOT work on exhaust FLOW. It works by taking the energy from the EXPANDING gases to drive the exhaust turbine, which are still burning and expanding after they've left the combustion chamber. This is why unlike say a supercharger, there is no power lost because that power is normally lost in a naturally aspirated engine.
No power come free……ever, that cooling fan is way to close to the inter cooler as well, looks like a nice build but expected a lot more from a setup like this to be honest

Would be interesting to see an engine running a turbo without ducting the output back to the engine. To see how much parasitic loss there is with the exhaust restriction.
My Yukon used to get up and go
Something wrong here boys, at 20 psi this thing should’ve made way more power.
Kind of off topic, but I like the new haircut Pat. But being a retired GI, a good simple haircut is my preference! Keep building!
this EP is almost 8 years old.
Now fit all of this set up under the hood of a car..
That stupid rtv between the turbo and manifold is probably preventing them to boost properly because of leak, must use mls gasket or embossed
What happened to the turbo nut at 2.18
how are you the only comment.. i came here purely for that hahaha
Why the msd coil packs over the stock gm ones?
What was the static compression ratio NA?
Yeah I like to cry I love your show and I sure like to try to try to win that in for my car what that'll be a good in you for me I love your shows
I wander what else I can use that VHT on 🤔
?
what brand is the injector cleaner
The waste gate should not be a 90 degree to the flow. It’s blowing right by the gate
Although that's optimal, it doesn't matter that much because it's pressurized.
@@nevosrestos394 wrong.
On a twin turbo set up, I would agree. On this setup its about blow off time. The valve is big enough to make it negligible.
Thanks for watching.
oh wow, another LS and turbo set up 🥱🥱 🥱
Can pre ignition cause an engine to blow the head gasket?
no
You only did half the job on the headers, the ceramic coating needs to be on the inside of the tubes as well as the outside.
Ill.take na
I would never let anybody else touch my car Other than you guys !
I have this coming up thank or you so much for sharing
Terry
Trash numbers for that motor on a 88mm. Go back to the drawing board.
Please pick me....love this show
Season 1... that was awarded to some sucker years ago.
Ya idk, on a 600 hp na motor with 15 lbs of boost it should of doubled the hp
What was the static compression on this engine
Stock it was 9.5:1. They did a piston change to bring it up to 10.5:1. That hurt them badly.
Do a wastegate delete kit for maximum power or just weld the door shut…….. your welcome :p
Could someone please help me finds the spark plug gapping tool he used!!!
You know what I find funny about these giveaways? You never hear about anyone who won.
That's some Fucken power
Thanks gays
You need to do a Chrysler 408 stroker now
No power come free……ever, that cooling fan is way to close to the inter cooler as well, looks like a nice build but expected a lot more from a setup like this to be honest
Is it just me or is the Intake pipe resting on the downpipe ?
Don't know what car that would go in like that 🤔
I just hope ther freshen up these engines before the giveaway and after the dyno pulls. Nothing worse then winning a motor from these guys with a spun bearing or hurt piston
In my position, and my aspirations with my current project, I'd still call that a win.
i wouldn't want anything these hacks build.
Did anyone happen to see how shitty that deck surface was. They gave away a ticking time bomb. That mfer gonna blow a head gasket in no time. Deck surface was pitted and scratched to all kinds of hell.
🤷♂️ Where’s Mike Galley nowdays ? He completely disappeared…
literally a 1700hp engine and these guys wimp out at 10 lbs, can make 1000hp reliably on a stock 5.3, don't see why you would go through the trouble
Gotta put a better cam
