Thank you for saying that you donated what you could. I see these tv shows where they act like kids breaking up stuff and putting it in a dumpster. Habitat For Humanity takes all this.
This video was educational for me because it showed that I can demo my own bathroom. You did a great job but your AFTER looks like what I would want to change.
I love that you did this on your own. I've subbed because you deserve it for your hard work! I do this every day but 5 to 10 bathrooms a day as I'm a apartment redeveloper. NEVER CHOOSE YOUR OWN FINISHES. You'll get better results letting someone else scope the finishes.
Just got into home improvement. Been working with my father in law this past year and I’m ready to take on my own task! Your videos are amazing and I’m learning more and more and can’t wait to start my first project
Thank you for this efficient and quick video to show us what's what. I don't plan to do this myself but I do like the idea of the shower surround to not only keep the shower clean for those of us who dislike trying to keep tile grout pristine. But I also like that the surround is a cost saver.
Looks nice. An option for around the shower walls instead of patching drywall is to use 5 1/4 inch pvc trim. Shim out the studs, rip the pvc and cut to length. Attach it with brads and use good quality caulk. It's faster and will never mold or mildew.
Lots of good advice there. Thank you. Don't use your finger to tidy sealant though people. There's special little scrapers for it that are cheap or eat an ice block and use the radius of the ice block stick.
oh boy, I just finished renovation of my bathroom in Europe. It can't be overstated that homes in Europe are different. We used at least 1,5 tonne of material: cement, plaster, different kinds of glues , ceramic tiles, knauf, hidroisolation, leveling ... for a bath of 3m2.
I like the Tub surrounding how cool. For people remolding on a budget. Now in these Mobile guest bath they should use this product instead of the cheap ones I’ve seen.
Good job!! I learned from re doing my own that it’s best to go ahead and replace the drywall all the way up to the ceiling. You can caulk the gap where the new drywall meets the ceiling. Drywall is cheap, it’s easier to finish, and the board doesn’t visually look angled where it meets the surround.
Fix This Build That I did the exact same thing when I remodeled my bathroom. I did a shower remodel not that long ago for a friend and replaced all the Sheetrock and was glad I did!!
I wish our downstairs bathroom looked like this then I wouldn't have to redo it. But the downstairs will have to wait it's turn. I'm literally about to do the same thing. The roof leaked into my bathroom and I think they did a botched job on this bathroom/tub anyway when they flipped the house. But I'm gonna try and do a tile bathroom with a tile shower and overhead showerhead.
it is indeed a small bathroom but it's perfect for me, I want to split my bathroom and make two small ones just like this. You did great, it's very very, beautiful. One of the bathroom I want a standing shower with glass.
I'm so very impressed with your level of details and skills you have and how very beautiful everything looks , amazing ! I'm glad I subscribe I can learn a thing or two. Blessing from Florida.
Florida? Heads up. La Palma. The LORD has shown me a lot of little signs about Florida. You know about the potential mega tsunami, right? No, but plumbing requires a lot of research and tile a lot of careful skill. I wouldn't suggest a beginner start with an entire tub tiling. Maybe just do a tilesplash first.
Wow. This material u used for the new wall l never see before. But now. Tnx. For u great video . I learn something new tnx lam learning more and more tnx egaing
Great job man, but Before caulking the bath you should fill it with water so that when it dries and you fill it up for the first time it doesn’t pull the caulk away from the wall.
He said he drove holes in the flanges and I thought he said he drove holes in the filangies... from friends. I freaked out and turned on the subtitles, my dreams were crushed.
Hummmm, if I was going to go through all the expense and labor of replacing the entire tub and surround, I would have tiled the whole thing. Taking out a white plastic wall to put in a white plastic wall seems like too much expense and labor not to get much bang for your buck and hard work.
That was my thought exactly. Seems like with all the effort he put into those fancy wall inserts, he could have just tiled it and had a nice quality bathroom that didn't look cheap.
The end result looked beautiful but no way an average homeowner can do any of this except maybe paint & change the light fixture. Def not a realistic DIY task for most people. I still liked & subscribed.
I redid our hall bathroom, with a little help from family. Floors are super easy to change, especially tiling. New sinks and storage are easy and fast to install too. It just takes a little learning time, and anyone can complete it.

I usually dislike fake tile, but the addition of the mosaic makes such a difference and it looks pretty good!

I have never seen acrylic sheets of "tiles" before? Makes it looks a whole bunch easier than trying to re-tile a shower and regrout everything.

it's a great make over!
Anyone else think that wen he put the wall back on it’s satisfying? 4:21 This is also really satisfying 5:40
This remodel video makes me think I can tackle it myself-no experience. Am I crazy!??
Without experience, you'd need some guidance to avoid costly mistakes. However, this is totally feasible to do over a weekend.
I thought the same EXACT thing, but I'd be too afraid to try!
Get a plumber
No, but plumbing requires a lot of research and tile a lot of careful skill. I wouldn't suggest a beginner start with an entire tub tiling. Maybe just do a tilesplash first.
Ultimate DIY!! WOW! That came out great!
My question is how long did it take to remodel the whole bathroom?
The result is beautiful but I'd be happy with the original bathroom cos that was already so much better than mine haha
Fabulous. I will definitely partner up and attempt the remodel on my own bathroom thanks to this tutorial.

Why tear the original tub out and replace it with almost the same looking one, just different pieces?
I agree kinda makes no sense right 🤔
I think the upstile system only works with certain Delta tubs. I’ve noticed this in demos.
That's exactly what I said lol
What material is that tub actually ? Ceramic or some kind of plastic.
I was shocked when he was able to cut tiles and tub
@@abhishek8243 I think it's acrylic. The tiles are acrylic.
Really nice vanity...and I like that backsplash tile in the tub too.
thanks!
The bathroom turned out great!! I love the paint color? Can you list the paint brand/name?
lol that bathroom was nice before the remodel. just wanted to point that out. great video and thanks for sharing!
Great job man, but Before caulking the bath you should fill it with water so that when it dries and you fill it up for the first time it doesn’t pull the caulk away from the wall.
That is only necessary if the tub is plastic/fiberglass. Old tubs that are made out of heavy cast iron won't move.
Nice bathroom 👍
What color and brand paint did u use? Bathroom is beautiful.
This is the best bathroom
what would be great is to see the cost of the whole thing
Christian Torres-Rossi I totaled everything and it was roughly 3K. And that’s without cost of labor.
~3.5k$ materials + plumbing + 0 if you install everything by yourself + home depo rentals (dunno how much $$)
Accountants be like
Great video! Super helpful and the detail of each step and advice is concise and coherent. Thank you!
HOT DAMN....I need a man like you. I love a men that knows how to repair. It's everything,
wow I've just watched a renovation video over on Modern builds channel, and the bathroom's layout is absolutely the same !
Same thought came to me

You did really good job, to these people don't want to remove the wall, shower panel could also be a good solution.
Hummmm, if I was going to go through all the expense and labor of replacing the entire tub and surround, I would have tiled the whole thing. Taking out a white plastic wall to put in a white plastic wall seems like too much expense and labor not to get much bang for your buck and hard work.

Seems like with all the effort he put into those fancy wall inserts, he could have just tiled it and had a nice quality bathroom that didn't look cheap.
I get the concept behind it. Not everyone is good at tiling or can afford to have someone come tile it. Its nice for an average DIYer
You are right!
This deserves more views than only 100k!! Informative and entertaining, thanks for uploading.
how much did it cost in supplies to redo the bathroom?
Racket Tattoo maybe a couple hundred or thousand? 950 890? 1000?
Around $2000, I checked the prices for the supplies he listed in the description.
You made that look super easy, never works like that for me, I always run into every problem possible and some that ain’t.

Yes. I think this bathroom should be medium or big
I would call it a standard size bathroom - neither large nor small.
It’s pretty tiny
Depends on the person I guess, my bathroom is smaller. I only wish I had room for a vanity that size.

Isn't there some sort of waterproofing or membrane that should sit behind the walls of the shower?
the fiberglass is waterproof and he caulked the joints.
