    I loved how you produced this video! It was succinct, practical, and not snobbish!! The only trend I disagree with using is the free standing tub. We just did a remodel and were shocked at the cost of those tubs, along with the additional fussy plumbing fixtures, plumber labor, tile costs around the tub, and they need so much water to even fill them halfway. I have also tried to bathe little kids in a friend’s tub and they are super impractical for that! We opted for a simple, more typical tub that we enclosed on the outside with tile. No regrets! 🛀🏼 😊

      Agree on the standalone tubs. Too hard to clean around and a huge safety hazard to get out of, especially if you are older (and worse if you add in short and inflexible like me 🙂).

    Chrome is an absolute PASS for me. It screams "cheap" and "basic" to me.

      I’m starting to feel that way about brushed nickel. Chrome can feel cheap but if you pick a timeless style it can certainly last a long time!

    I have had a Wall Hung Vanity in my master bathroom for 12 years. I love it and have had dozens of compliments on it. I also have a linen closet in my bathroom as most folks! So I don't rely of just my vanity for storage, even though it gives me a very good amount. I am getting ready to do an update of paint, a new floor and I will paint my Wall Hung Vanity a new deep color to contrast my light color walls. In addition, you say "Don't install a wall hung vanity, you'll regret it. It's just a trend." Well, I've had mine for 12 years with a beautiful 6-inch-thick white ceramic top that cleans so well and easy. I included a beautiful single hole chrome faucet, which I will replace with another chrome faucet. I DO NOT agree that wall hung vanities are a trend. Another point, do you even realize after you tell everyone do not install wall hung vanities, at least 1/2 of all the photos of bathrooms you were kind enough to share with us were All Wall Hung Vanities! At the end, with your 3 tips, also FULL of Wall Hung Vanities!!! I think you should review all of your content before advising the WRONG ADVICE to the public!

    Closed selves all the time. Keeps dust out(hopeful)

    I agree 100% on the hanging cabinets.... it's less space to store items AND it's more floor to clean. same with those 'open shelves' underneath a sink - just more to dust. I will likely have a shiny floor (we are preparing to renovate the master bath) .... hubby and I always wear house shoes so slipping is very unlikely.... and, I want shiny (porcelain - yes) walls in the shower to match. I will consider a duller floor, but we are likely to go shiny to match. our guest bathroom has a nice non-slip floor for guests. :-)

    I come from an era when we did not have enough water. We caught rainwater from the roof and stored it in a leaky concrete tank. We had converse water all the time. I still can't fill the bath too much, so spa and deep baths are not for me. Too much water and it takes ages to fill

    Please don’t say gray is a timeless or neutral color! It looks so outdated! And builders/remodelers must have gotten a great deal on gray flooring because it’s everywhere too. It looks cheap and artificial. The only thing worse is when you walk into a house that has both the walls and the floors in gray. A house of gloom.

    Several good ideas here, but I wish there was some discussion about colors that are flattering to skin tones, rather than show trendy colors and modern lines. I saw a few examples of warmer whites, but no discussion on how a paint color can make you feel better about who you see in your mirror every morning! Gray isn’t one of them!

    Every bathroom in the video was bigger than my living room! I think people go over the top with everything. You don't need two sinks or more than one showerhead. I can't think of anything worse than someone brushing their teeth and spitting next to me! 😝 I like to keep everything hidden in cupboards and just have bubble bath in a posh bottle and shower gel on the bath and hand soap on the sink. Neutral and classic is best, not gimmicky. 😊

    Does it a bad idea to use Matt finish marble look tile on walls inside the shower? Thanks.

    • @pennymodern
      @pennymodern  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No I think it would be great on walls! I believe for shower floor the recommendation is smaller tiles to create a more non slip surface.

    Grey is trite and outdated. Every renovation on tv has used grey!!!! I hate grey floors, walls and accessories.

    Just remember natural stone marble and man-made stone have silica, which is a health issue in manufacturing. So try to find material that in manufacturing is looking after the workers. Just think, a beautiful bathroom could be lined with dead bodies

    I'd love to share a short video I made of our recently renovated (small) Bathroom.
    I'm extremely pleased with it and would appreciate your opinion.
    Though I doubt it would be possible - plus I wouldn't know how 😟.
