    Seeds, nuts and some ancient grains are also good sources of protein and minerals.

      For whatever reason, my body seems to use the protein in nuts and seeds better than what's in beans. My nails (for example) start growing super slow on very low fat diets where I omit nuts and seeds.

    • @sg-yo4kp
      @sg-yo4kp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      nuts have some protein but they would still be considered fat sources, along with most seeds. The percetage of fat in them is higher than the protein

    Thank you Rose! This is my favourite kind of video you make. Was vegetarian for about 30 years, didn’t think giving up eggs and dairy would make that much of a difference. I thought vegans were “extreme”. Turns out making that change (incrementally) was waaay easier than I thought, and made a muuuuch bigger difference in my health. Thanks exclusively to you and Yuval Noah Harari I’ve been vegan for about 5 months now after “making the connection”. And for someone who is a non-professional, I’ve done my research and followed up on everything I’ve heard from you (just like you encourage us to do!) and it has ALL been corroborated by my PCP, my APRN who prescribes my psych meds, and things I find online like from Drs. Greger and Barnard. Living like this is the middle path and so do-able. Nothing extreme at all. The thing that is extreme is treating animals like commodities. You’re the best Rose 💚. I told myself I wouldn’t write too much, so sorry about that! 😜

    Vegan for almost 20 years now. Blood tests twice a year. I was clinically chronically anemic before going vegan, I fixed that the first year. My blood tests have been BEYOND perfect ever since. I’m about to be 38 in January. still rocking a six pack , full head of hair, no glasses, no issues whatsoever 👑
    EVERYONE (ESPECIALLY Meattards) should be taking a B COMPLEX, not just a b12. B complex and a good C along with sunlight and or vegan Vit D is ESSENTIAL.

      #1. With all my respect, it's not for you to decide if this is the wrong channel for me. You can have your opinion, of course. But you don't decide anything.
      #2. You think that I'm a fascist, ha? Why? Because of my profile picture? Because I'm a Trump supporter?
      #3. It seems that you love freedom of thought and freedom of speech, but only if they are applied to who you decide. To you, you're okay with. But not to me, ha?
      #4. Sure! He lost because you and the fake mainstream-media and the woke celebrities and the deep state, etc. are saying so? Okay...
      #5. I got over it. It seems that you don't. Embrace The Great Reset and leave people like me alone, please.
      #6. All I did was to leave a decent and polite comment on this channel. A comment that did not have anything to do with politics. You're the one that chose to put woods on fire. It was not necessary to show how woke and virtuous you are.
      #7. English is not my native language, so I apologize if I made any mistakes. Even so, I'm pretty sure you got the point.

      You don't need to refrigerate, but you can. It's got a lot of salt and it's fermented so it won't go bad. Traditionally red pepper paste, soybean paste, etc were kept in pots outside. Unless you get water in it. Never get water in it. Always use a clean dry spoon.

    The vitamin thing, I'll have to look into some new research I think. I'm vegetarian but I have heard that obviously vegans should take B12, but other than that I was brought up with the understanding that taking vitamin supplements is a scam for the vast majority of people since they don't need it (unless your doctor tells you you have a specific deficiency, for example) and it's just something companies make money off of.
    I think the biggest example for this was always vitamin C, how your body can't even retain it, so you don't need to waste money on it.
    Maybe the science has changed on this?
