    I was out there this morning doing the monthly “pack walk.”I live about 10 miles from the park. The local animal shelter brings out a bus full of shelter dogs and people volunteer to walk them around the park to go them a break from being in the shelter. It’s a beautiful park. 😊

      Do you know if the park allows people to bring their pet dogs?

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jerimow8400 hello! It should be yes. They may have spots that certain areas aren’t allowed but we have seen others with pets.

    We took our kids this last December after watching your video. It was so cold that day! The parking lot was fairly empty. Everything was open, however it felt like we had the park to ourselves. We saw lots of manatees and monkeys. It was such a fantastic day! Such a beautiful park.

    Just watching your video 6:48 on Silver Springs. I live very close to Silver Springs and take my Electric trike out on the trails a couple times per week usually. I just bought a kayak so that I can kayak the springs with my son and his family.
    When biking, I go into the Ranger station entrance so I didn’t even know all those shops were open at the main entrance. I need to go check them out now, thanks to your video.
    I definitely highly recommend the kayaking. My son and family have all got kayaks now and I’m getting one so I’m really looking forward to it. They have found that the trip from the main entrance down to Ray’s Wayside Park is the ideal kayaking trip. It’s 5 miles with the current the whole way, so it’s pretty easy. And you can either leave a vehicle down there to bring you back or you can pay $15 per person I think, for them bring you back to the main entrance. I highly recommend you guys take that trip. The immediate area around the main entrance is pretty busy with boats paddle boards kayaks all kinds of watercraft. But on past that, down to the river to Ray’s is very beautiful and pristine. It is a 5 mile trip but with the current, it’s pretty easy. Guaranteed to see a lot of wildlife. My son frequently sees river otters, anhingas turtles, fish, ducks and other waterfowl plus all the other wildlife you mentioned.
    If you guys ever want to go on the trails out deep in the Silver Spring State Park, with mountain bikes, let me know and I’ll join you. I know the trails well, I’m retired so I have all kinds of time and I absolutely love it out there and would love to meet you guys and show you around Silver Springs.

      Thank you for all of this information! We are not too familiar with all the trails here or with the kayaking. It does seem like a really fun place to try and this was very helpful! We also need to get a kayak and get bikes sometimes. There seems to be lots of great spots around Florida to go explore the outdoors! Thanks so much!

    I forgot to mention, from the ranger station entrance there is the Silver Springs Museum and they have a pioneer village out there that they hold events in several times a year.
    I’m very blessed that I am within easy riding distance to Silver Springs and all it’s many adventures!

    Went there last summer for the first time. Did the glass bottom boat tour and it was awesome!! Saw manatees and wasn't expecting that in the summer! Was disappointed we didn't see any monkeys. But it was a great place to visit!

    We had passes for years. From early Feb to late Apr, they had concerts every weekend in the afternoon. Always Sat. and sometimes also Sun. Name anyone in country music or oldies music, they were probably there plus lots of others. We would get there when they opened and find spots for our chairs in front of the mansion. Then we would go on rides or to animal shows. They had so much to do! Then the opening act would be someone just starting out or someone local. The music was so good and we could wait in line to walk in front of the stage to take photos. Some stars would stay after the show for autographs. On each side of the stage is a room that companies would rent out. They would have food and guests would sit on the side of the stage. We saw George Jones that way and also Clint Black for our 2nd time seeing him there. So much fun and miss it so much. The last person we saw there was Billy Ray Cyrus. We didn’t know it would be our last time there. They changed it from an animal park to a state park.

    That Springside Cafe is really good. Great sandwiches. Don’t overlook their daily specials! Worth spending the $2 park admission just to have lunch there!
