I am so glad you are letting your light shine, Tammy. Pure Intellect has limitations, and you have intuition and spirituality. That is a very profound type of intelligence that our culture is missing. I think living from that place cures immune dysregulation. Not easy to do, but it’s our calling

Tammy- it is such a joy to listen to you speak so serenely about your journey with God. I loved when you said that you wake up every day and ask God what the plan is. I’ve had a very similar experience where God is now the center of my daily life. I’m not living it perfectly of course, but I now consider God first before I make any decision, to make sure it is pleasing to Him and that it coincides with His will for me. May God bless you and your family on this beautiful journey. It’s also been a joy to watch Mikhaila grow in her faith, as well as Jordan’s! I’ve been moved to tears many times 🌹You have a very special
family! Helen was wonderful as well!!!

This was a lovely conversation and Helen Orr is such a wonderful person. Just listening to her, you can tell how down to earth she is, such a delightful light. Each topic was very relatable and it made me feel more comfortable with my decision to transition back into a more spiritual life.
The bit about buildings and old memories was very interesting, before my husband and I got our offer accepted at our current home. I had the strangest dream the night before of the current homeowner celebrating with his small dogs on selling the place. The previous owners must have had a loving relationship, they were an older couple and the wife passed away a few years before. The energy was very light and loving and we can feel it everyday. We're also very lucky to live on a mountain in the forest.
God is definitey in everything as Helen mentions and nature is just one of those beautiful creations. Just sitting on the patio and watching the lilacs and elderberries bloom brings so much joy.
Would love to see/hear you and Helen again on your podcast. ❤

First of all, seeing you start your video broadcasting from your laundry room is the most amazing thing I've ever seen on TH-cam! I think we both own the same iron!
As for Helen Orr, what a jewel! I would gladly move to the UK to be at her church, and hang out in her garden. Her idea about the church as a coffee shop is absolutely brilliant!!! I wish I had thought of that. The best I could do was the church as a hotel, where churches would build hotels, operate them, and meet in one of the banquet rooms on the weekend. No business does a better job of rendering service and showing hospitality that a good hotel. But I like the coffee shop idea better, as it's far more practical, and existing buildings could easily be used. Here in the USA, it's not unusual to see old churches turned into restaurants, bars, and even breweries.
Now, I have a special book for you to read, and I'm sure Helen Orr is very familiar with it. The book is called "Revelations of Divine Love" by Julian of Norwich. The version I recommend is translated by Grace Warrack, modernized by Yolande Clarke, with an introduction by A.N. Wilson. The ISBN is 978-0-281-07707-6.
Why this book? Julian of Norwich is a 14th century female mystic. She had 16 visions of the Passion of Christ, and recorded them in a book. It is believed to be the first book authored by a woman in English history. The visions she had are just amazing, and her writing is beautiful. I think you'll find it to be an amazing read.
God bless you for creating this channel, and it's content. It's been a real blessing to me.
Praying for you and your family, and glad to see how many prayers have already been answered!

I LOVE the idea of having churches as coffee houses. I love being in churches and feeling their reverence. But, because I did not grow up religious entering feels unapproachable, awkward, like I am trespassing. I would go have (a good) coffee in a heartbeat. Sounds like heaven

I often feel the spirit in the wilderness, in a grove of trees ... and also in some cathedrals. How interesting to think that it is potentially from the residue of thousands of years of the spot being where people came to worship. I'm so glad to find this conversation.

What you said after 56:00 was helpful to me, Tamara. I've long been afraid too of surrendering control, even though it's to the best and most all-encompassing part of me: God, IEUE: Befaller. It's encouraging to hear that you are learning this, yourself.
Given how restless I am, and prone to wandering as I have been, I'm blessed that my literal God-Father reminds me regularly that He only has what is most compelling, revivifying, edifying, and fulfilling, for me, on the Straight and Narrow Way. If He did not have an angel or an ass to block or trip me each time I strayed, I would be dead or in hell by now.
Instead, I am humbled, challenged, and learning how to be 'happening' i.e. happy, even as I die and grow, inbetween the moments of spiritual sleep and suffering, leading to further realization and appreciation. But only when I listen and relent, and then walk to His/Her/Their/Our/My/Your lead.

Appreciated hearing this very much. The idea of pointing to self rather than God was reassuring and convicting, the beautiful reminder of breath in liturgy, the timely warning that evil is in those who call what is black, white, and the joy in opening our eyes to what God wants us to see each day. So fun to finish with the vicar singing! Thank you both!

Religion or any culture of belief in the beginning can give meaning and sense of belonging especially in the face of death…I went on a 40 year journey in the Christian faith…it gave me a feeling of acceptance but sadly the idolization of God, Jesus, prayers, and service to certain dogmas led me to dissatisfaction and deconstructing of my faith….Christianity clings to the Christ while other traditions emphasis other certain aspects in the quest for truth ….what I found is that Christianity is basically fear driven and what you believe about the supernatural will manifest depending on the religious tradition you adopt…Christians see demons and devils and Jesus while Buddhists may see their icons while in prayer or worship…those images can appear in the mind because that’s the teaching Christianity promotes….it’s a mind game….any time you pray to something outside your self you are creating an idol of worship because you gave “ God” a physical form

I'll be attending Jordan's first scheduled talk at Place des Arts in Montreal, and can maybe hand it to you there (or to Jordan at a book signing if you won't be there).

@@TammyPetersonPodcast I'm enjoying putting this together in word-processor, finally (I'm currently on Jesus's baptism.) I recall hearing Dr. Peterson say that he prefers a version of the KJV that parses out the Bible's poetry into lines of verse. I am doing that, because it's how I like my scripture as well.
At McGill, I study Biblical Hebrew poetry and the ancient Jewish tradition of chanting scripture based on prosodic intonation (which led to systems of cantillation). I also have a project with a young Music History student to possibly clarify the origins of Gregorian chant.

‘Practically atheist’ that’s quite the leap. Protestants and Catholics worship the same god and accept Christ. We should unite on that front and not point fingers accusing others of imposter syndrome.

Is it still necessary to bring this kind of division into Christianity? Are we afraid of our Lords luck of mercy this much? How about having more humility, more love and more trust in him instead.
Because if Gods Kingdom is something like "a mustard seed", it is bound to become something with branches. Right? In fact ...watching his creation left and right lets start becoming ready for something very much like that. Something colorful branching left and right and yet being the one thing prophecised.

    • @sfappetrupavelandrei
      @sfappetrupavelandrei 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@setsappa1540 The answer is simple. If you are a man (it's not clear to me from your username if I'm talking with a man or a woman) does it really matter that your wife is that particular woman? Why can't there be any woman? Why do you need these type of division between women to expect the woman to be in a certain way to marry her?
If your Christ is your love, if He is your life, you are not in love by an abstract Christ but a real Person Who has different attributes. The Christ I'm in love with, loves His mother so much that we wants us to love Her as the mother of God; the Christ I'm in love with, wants us to consider His mother as our own; the Christ I'm in love with, is not afraid that my prayers to the saints somehow steal from His glory but He actually encourages us to have His saints praised because His love is humble and He wants everyone to have His glory; the Christ I'm in love with finds that women have a different purpose than men in His worship and that purpose doesn't include priesthood and I can go on. If Christ doesn't have one or more of these qualities then He is not the Christ I'm in love with. And if you say that these qualities doesn't matter then my question is: do you love Christ for Who He is or the idea which Christ represents?
