Queen Elizabeth II passed away hours before Dr Jordan B Peterson would give a public lecture. At this event, he was asked, “how could the death of the Queen affect the boundaries between English communities around the world?” His answer was honest and thought-provoking. He explores the weight and grandeur of the monarchical system, the legacy of its longest-reigning Queen, and the great loss so many have to bear.

When she finished her question, he paused then repeated it. And I thought he was fishing for an answer. Instead, he took about three seconds to organize his thoughts into a lecture that made clear to me, why the monarchy exists at all, for the first time in my 52 years of life. All the while filling the English audience with both hope and pride. Jordan Peterson is one of the most intelligent and gifted speakers of our time.

Britain should be immensely proud of your place in history and vast contributions to science, representative government, literature, language, law, and human dignity. Jordan said you stumbled but kept walking uphill. I say you forged ahead bravely and are now somewhat stuck in the doldrums. Dr. Peterson has literally saved my son's life. After my son found him and started listening to his lectures and reading his books, he turned his life around in a matter of months. Before JP, my son was so far to the left. A vegan, a socialist mindset but described himself as an anarchist. He had no real direction, like so many other young men of his generation. He had no real occupation, just worked odd jobs and lived with his gf and 2 other couples. And he struggled with depression and anxiety.
After he found JP, he moved back home, found a job he can grow with, and he finally had health insurance. He then immediately found a Dr, got on an antidepressant (before he was also extremely anti-any medication) and then found a therapist.
Oh, and he's also no longer a vegan or a socialist. 😂 I should note that a vegan diet really does mess with a male's testosterone, among other things, and that's why he's no longer vegan. He just saw a men's health specialist yesterday to address this issue. So it's not that I have anything against a vegan diet, except for the side effects it can have on men.
It's been about 9 months now and he's a brand new person. I will always feel so much respect and gratitude for Dr. Peterson. Before, I constantly worried about my son, and what he'd do once his dad and I were gone. My daughter was always the exact opposite, she graduated from college and had found her career path at the age of 22. So I never had to worry about her.
But my son, I just can't express how much relief I feel. And it's all thanks to the good Dr. He really has his finger on the pulse of the young men in my son's generation. Society has all but thrown them away. And Dr. Peterson is breathing life into them again. That's something that just can't be measured, and will be a lasting legacy for Dr. P for generations to come. ❤️
Edit: Thanks so much for all the kind words. They are much appreciated! ❤️

This understanding of my country's influence and greatness has never been in question, having served in the Royal Marines for 3 decades under Queen Elizabeth II has on many occasions brought criticism by individuals that are so very ignorant to the principles of a collective national identity which this remarkable woman championed and which I swore to defend in her name. When asked to put my life on the line to defend the freedoms of Great Britain, it was easy and for 30 years it drove me and continues to this day. The idea of family unity and strength inspired me and changed something in my psyche, which manifested into fierce loyalty and how critical the need for individual sovereignty and strong believe in a very important constitution. And now I believe it is even more important to embrace this, the erosion has crept up and the insanity, contempt, victimhood and arrogance that has manifested in individuals is staggering.

In April 2019, his prescribed dosage of clonazepam was increased to deal with anxiety he was experiencing as a result of his wife's cancer diagnosis.[192][193][194] Starting several months later, he made various attempts to lessen his intake or stop taking the drug completely,[190] but experienced "horrific" benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome.[195][196][192] According to his daughter, Peterson and his family were unable to find doctors in North America who were willing to accommodate their treatment desires, so in January 2020, Peterson, his daughter (Mikhaila), Mikhaila's husband, and Mikhaila's daughter flew to Moscow, Russia, for Peterson's treatment.[197] Doctors there diagnosed Peterson with pneumonia in both lungs upon arrival, and he was put into a medically induced coma for eight days. Jordan, I heard in the street that one man said he felt that he and the people of his community, a minority, should be recognized as what they truly believe they are, and later, he said, they were "the selected" by God and should be called by everybody your majesty, as a pronoun, because they are the chosen. He said he would sue the government because they are also an important minority and had the right to select their own pronoun too. He said they have the power to do it. I do not know if he was joking or not, but then he added because he has to use the pronoun she to everybody who wants to be called she, he added his community also has the right to select his pronoun. He added that "she" was a pronoun used to describe a person that could carry a baby in her body, and he also wanted the same right for his people. Change an incorrect concept. Could that happen? Could communities, based on the right to have equal treatment, start selecting the pronouns they want to use because they believe they are that? Do you think a group could psychologically manipulate society by changing pronouns that way? I do not know, but I would prefer just eliminate the pronouns and maybe identify a person as a man or woman just in front of a medical doctor.

Exactly. This is what the MSM doesn't do. I was talking to friends about it and I must've sounded like such an idiot when I said I didn't understand why people were calling her such an inspiration in their lives. I think I get it now, even if I still think it's somewhat farfetched, I can respect the job and the way it was executed over the past 70 years. Perhaps the deserved credit is exaggerated and I don't know if a monarchale system is better than a republic one. It surely doesn't work everywhere. But when people say "oh it only costs taxpayer money" I now feel inclined to disagree, because it strengthens patriotism and sense of fraternity which in turn promotes self-sustainability and confidence within a nation state. Even when the monarchy doesn't bring in as much money as it takes there are those secondary psychological or subconscious effects. Besides, a presidency would likely cost about just as much taxpayer money as a monarchy.
I bet we would see less tribalism on twitter and discourse on the streets, arguments within social circles and a more forgiving social hierarchy. And I'm not referring to dictatorial monarchy, but monarchy like in the UK and other countries with democratically elected parliaments where the king or queen serves a more symbolic role. Humanity has been living with kings and queens for about as long as we are on this planet, so I'm not surprised it resonates with everyone on some level.
I realize now as to why monarchies and this sense of nationalism that comes with that has been actively broken down in Europe over the past 30 years.

Doctor Peterson, as a Nigerian I want to thank you for this video and I also want to express my condolences to the Queen's family and the people of the UK. One thing that many of us in Africa cannot deny is that slavery was ended by the British during the era of colonialism they were involved with. Heck! My own ancestors were slavers and also enslaved by other Africans and this stopped thanks to the British. Plus, despite what most assume, we Africans absolutely value the positives brought here because of colonialism like modern medicine, technology, western education systems, nation building (as imperfect as it is, it's better than what was there before), better economic and social systems (capitalism and liberalism) As a Nigerian, one thing that makes me happy is how most of the people in my country did not use the death of Queen Elizabeth as some excuse to insult or whine about grievances. Most of us just expressed our condolences. The fact is that many of us bear no ill will to her or the British monarchy. Conversely, there were many statements and hot-takes from the usual suspects who just wanted to push their stupid victimhood ideology at the expense of the Queen's passing.

As an American I am very aware of the British spearhead to eradicate slavery abroad before and after the Napoleonic War. The British lead the way in ending the Atlantic Slave trade. An amazing battle that enthralled the common Briton back home. The newspapers wrote of the great engagements that took place between Islamic slave ships and British warships on the high seas in the Persian Gulf and East coast of Africa.
Charles G. Gordon, Govenor of the Sudan from 1877-1879 did much to try and end the slave trade in the colony, even going as far as to impose the death penelty on anyone found to be castrating young black men for the Arabs. He left the country for England in 1880, becoming exhusted, only to return in 1884 in the evaucation of Khartoum. After he had 2,500 civilians evacuated, he retained a small dispatchment of military men who managed to hold off Muhammad Ahmad and his army for about a year, before the city fell and he was killed.

Because he demanded absolute obedience and ruled by fear. why did the the barons pressed John I to sign the Magna Carta? because he had too much control over taxation and they wanted to check is power. I believe that the royal family, Elizabeth in particular, are dedicated to serving their nation. but the idea of monarchy, in the absolute sense, is too much a risk for tyranny.

What Dr. Peterson said about the US not discussing the history of the abolishing of slavery is something that has really bothered me in my life. I remember in AP American History we were talking about an American ship that was boarded by pirates, and as just a passing comment the teacher said that the reason this had happened had to do with a law that was passed in England to help end slavery. At the time I made a mental note that if I never learned that history in school I would for sure research it one day and figure out what had happened. Thank goodness that process was made easier for me because several years later the movie "Amazing Grace" came out. I know movies based on actual events don't always get everything right, and "Amazing Grace" did have to simplify some stories and fill in some gaps, but the team really did a good job of trying to be as true as possible to the original story. Now that I know the story I can't believe it isn't taught to every single child in the US. Who cares if it's more a part of UK history. It is a part of human history, and it also had an extremely significant impact on US history as well, and it is a scandal if that story isn't extremely well known by 99% of the population. More people should know that story than know the name Kardashian or the name Skywalker.

He has literally saved my son's life. After he found him and started listening to his lectures and reading his books, he turned his life around in a matter of months.
After he found JP, he moved back home, found a job he can grow with, and he finally got health insurance. He then immediately found a Dr, got on an antidepressant (before he was also extremely anti-any medication) and then found a therapist.
Oh, and he's also no longer a vegan or a socialist. 😂 I should note that a vegan diet really does mess with a male's testosterone, and that's why he's no longer vegan.

Aside from the topic at hand, I noticed something very interesting when listening to Dr Peterson. As one who hails from one of the Commonwealth countries, i didn't know how much I missed hearing "well done for the good things about your country and the country that your connected so intrinsically to". I've grow so accustomed over the last 30-40 years to hearing only about all the evil and wickedness of "white people", the British in particular, rising to fever pitch over the last 5-10 years. Amazing how debilitating that enforced guilt and shame has become at a subconscious level. I know damn well the mistakes my culture, and that of England, has made over the last 200-300 years. In fact, I've read and studied about my culture and heritage for decades - the good, the bad and the ugly. But unlike the mob intent on crushing a heritage that, as Dr Peterson points out, was the only one to stand the "cost" of abolishing slavery, one of the primary drivers for things like "the rule of law", equality for men and women, woman's suffrage, and any number of other good things that make the modern world NOT a third world hell hole, I know that my culture and heritage aren't the devil incarnate: they've simply become a convenient "whipping boy" so that the rest of the world can ignore its own wickedness, depravity, guilt and shame for ITS atrocities. Heck, even in my own country the "natives" deny they were murderous, cannibalistic, genocidal, tribalist thugs eking out a stone-age existence without the wheel or the written word. Thank you Dr Peterson for giving praise and uplifting words where they are due. God knows we need more of that and less of the vitriol and hate washing about the world these days.

As with all ingrates- the benefits that arise are taken for granted and the various costs analyzed and scrutinized ad-infinitum. As Dr Peterson says , we can choose to live in a way they spreads the wealth of knowledge and ability we have collectively gained over time or we can be closed and self serving . Sharing valuable skills or knowledge can help those in need often far more than some kind of I'll conceived hand out and each time and on each occasion we lessen the burden of the wrongs of the past .

This encapsulates Queen's achievements 13:31 and why Britain is called 'Great Britain'. I also noticed that Dr Peterson got emotional at this point. Who wouldn't? I wasn't born British but a Malaysian Indian living in the UK now. I love the Queen and totally adore her. I was lucky enough to have seen her in person at close during her Diamond Jubilee (2012) parade. I had my phone ready to snap her photo, but the moment she turned and waved at us and smiled, I freeze; the aura she carries around her, that moment you know she's not an ordinary human-being but 'the angel' given to the British people. I'm a Hindu, and in Hindu culture we light oil lamp everyday for prayer, unless there's bereavement in the family. I didn't light up my prayer lamp in my house and will continue to do so for 13 days to respect the loss of this great Queen. 🙏

Past wrongs of english empire were catastrophic for a lot of people. Generally, nobody considers english people guilty of anything bad nor americans or spanish who killed entire native population of america. However, english people always judge others, small nations who did not commit any comparable crime. Monarchy is one disgusting legacy element which would be regarded equal to Heil Hitler or similar if anyone would employ their critical thinking.

This is the first time I have heard any one speak of the ablution of slavery carried out by the British who made a decision to do so ,and being the first time such a decision was made in human history . Then carried it out by force mainly at sea by the royal navy the Americans only aided in the affair after the British were seen to be successful. I think it is not mentioned by politicians and the like to avoid embarrassing America ,who still owned and kept slaves for another 40 odd years .But no longer traded in slaves .
