I have a antique Super Man watch. It has the “S” at 12:00, Clark Kent at 3:00 , Superman at 6:00, Lois Lane at 9:00. It has a fancy inscription on the back of the watch that reads “ To Super , Love Lois “
Absolute class my guy. Most non-watch people underrate Seiko, and even more don’t understand vintage. I 100% agree that 38’-34’ being the right size for most men.
Having managed a luxury watch store I came to the realization that watches were looked at by most as a fashion item. That size and type of Watch were looked at the same as any clothing item that was in vogue at the time. I think that tool watches are great if used for their functionality but wearing a dive watch even if you can’t swim is being a slave to fashion. I agree with you that a man’s watch should be smaller, not larger and at most just have a date window. 11:29 My watches of choice are my Sarb 035 and my Seiko tank. Classic watches like classic clothing are timeless. Great video and if you come out with your own line of straps I’ll be first in line. I love your watch choices.
Wanted to add that many watch snobs stick up their nose at Japanese watches - that only Swiss watches are any good. But if you look up what defines a Swiss watch you would be surprised. They’re not quite all that people think.
Beautiful collection, Vladimir. I have a 1967 Lord Marvel and it is indeed a wonderful watch. FYI the serial number appears to begin with 68 which means that it was produced by the factory in August of 1968. 6 denotes the last number of the four digit production year, and 8 denotes the month it was produced. Enjoy your new King Quartz!
Thank you, Freco! I think you meant August 1966 since the first number (6) represents the year. My next goal is to find one from October 1975 which is my birth month and year.
What's up Vlad! The 69 KS 45-7000 that clean dail and case shape along with the lug profile 👌 I collected vintage 33-35mm for many years, unfortunately exercise took my wrist to 71/2 inches so 38mm is the smallest case I can pull off. Btw, if you have an opportunity, check out the Baltic MR02 vintage Calatrava style with Breguet style indices and textured dail with a 36mm case. They go on sale June 1st. Thanks for sharing your collection with us. You can't be a watch collector and not love Seiko ❤✌️

Hello Vladimir, Many thanks for this very informative upload! Your love of quality Seiko time pieces really comes across. Like you, I love vintage watches Your 60s Seikos have a wonderful understated elegance. You have made me appreciate nice Seikos even more than I previously did. Although I had always admired the brand, it was mostly as the source for the best quality "workhorse" watches and movements. Thank you for sharing your Seiko collection. I now see the brand in a much different light. Cheers! -Tim in MA.
Beautiful collections sir, and you know every one of your Seiko. I just started to learn to appreciate vintage watches, and especially vintage Seiko. I have the 45GS, similar design as your 61GS, but with manual wind movement.
Thank you! The 45GS is truly a beautiful watch. I almost pulled the trigger twice but I’ll be patient and wait for the right one. I also absolutely love the 44GS, that’s really high on my list too. I sell handmade bespoke vintage-inspired straps. They have the square tip and look like the ones from the old Seiko catalogs back in the 60s and 70s. Definitely look me up if you’re ever interested.
Great video and beautiful watches. Just made a deal to get my first watch, the Seiko Sarb035 inspired by your other video. Any recomendations on straps? Really don't want them to break any time soon.
Great watch, you’ll love it. Personally I match my straps to my shoes. I’m almost OCD with that, LOL. But perfect timing as I’m coming out with my own line of dress watch straps and I’m taking preorders starting this week. DM me on Instagram at chace.ryder if you’re interested. As far as what I would recommend, the watch is very versatile so anything from lizard, crocodile, alligator or nubuck. That’s how I wear mines.

Hey Vlad, what do you think about pairing the color of a leather watch strap with one’s shoes and belt? Is it okay to contrast a bit much like how a pocket square complements a tie? For example, I’m wondering how to pair a navy blue watch strap. Can I wear it with black or brown shoes? Love all your content, you’re the GOAT of classic menswear.
Appreciate the love, Patrick! Personally I’m OCD with matching my straps to my shoes perfectly. But one of my close friends matches his straps to his jackets and it looks really good. So that would be my advice. By the way I’m coming out with my own line of dress watch straps. Please hit me on Instagram @chace.ryder if you’re interested. I’m taking preorders starting this week.
Looking good Vlad. When you're ready to step up to the next level let me suggest the Grand Seiko Elegance collection. My favorite is the SBGM221. Have a look and tell me what you think
