  • This E&F Miler custom coaster stands 50 feet (15.25m) tall and in spite of being family friendly, it's really all about ejector airtime that keeps popping you out of your seat.
    Check out the off-ride video we posted to see more of what this fun family coaster looks like: • Wild Waves 4K off-ride...
    You can also watch the 360° video we posted to see even more of what it's like to be in the front seat of this coaster: • Wild Waves 360° front ...

    Okay! So at first I thought this was going to be a complete joke of a family coaster...and then the train rounded the bend, and I saw the 2nd lift hill. Overall, I find this to be a GREAT starter coaster to bring your 6 and 7 year old kids to ride! There is literally nothing scary on this ride for them, and they will absolutely LOVE the airtime. (Which is the best I have ever seen on a family coaster.) We have a winner here!! 👍

      What's even crazier is... When I was 6 or 7 this would have scared the hell out of me. Took me 'till about 9 to finally want to do even this, and slightly bigger ones at various places. And somehow, some way, me and the bois went on Kingda Ka as our first ride on our 8th grade trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. We all were scared as hell but maybe I just had to prove to myself I could lmao. And the rest was history. Also glad I got to ride stuff like El Toro. Nitro was worse though, that long buildup has a big psychological effect. I'd just love to go on a Giga at some point. I'll always remember this good ol' Wild Waves for helping me dip my toe in stupidity.

      This park is over crowded with rides. Glad I go in the off season because I can totally see summer nights that place being hard to move around due to queue lines and people walking to those rides. For a boardwalk park Playland is pretty nice if you're staying at 10th street-34th street and even 9th-7th street this is a good park, but from 6th to 1st Wonderland's the place to go.

    I'm confused as to what type of coaster this even is. It looks like it is impossible for there to be any wheels on the underside. Only the top and the inside. So....this is a side friction steel? They still make side-frictions? So theoretically, if you get enough weight in this thing it could leave the track for a brief moment?

    Looking on this years later it's still a total wild card that the pier chose to do this.
    Not only did they replace two coasters-one very crappy, run down pinfari looper, and a zierer flitzer,
    they did with a unique, first of it's kind launch coaster that now gives double rounds, along with an excellent
    family dare I say family-thrill coaster with literal airtime. A++++++++ for them.
    Gillian's REALLY needs to get a solid coaster, they waste the top deck space constantly and removed their fun family coaster, but at least in 2020 they will have a better frisbee/claw ride (cause the one at playland is horrible, and gillian is getting the super crazy spinning huss model).

    The amount of dumb GP comments on this I swear. "Oh it's unsafe!" "Oh that looks boring" please you've got no merit to comment things like that unless you've actually ridden an E&F miller roller coaster. It's of the same make as the coaster that fell into the ocean off Casino Pier, NJ, in 2012 from Sandy. Something different though is those two wide turns are clearly not sharp and while I feel like it may have a few too many breaks, it could also be the reason why they delayed it, wanting it to be more smooth. However, these kinds of designs have some oddly good airtime and feel very different from other coaster companies. I'm glad they decided to work with them to get another coaster in NJ like this. I won't get to ride this til next year so I already have a 2018 coaster I know I'll enjoy let the GP stay away from it, shorter lines for me.

    • @sportsygirl8
      @sportsygirl8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep! Exactly. I'm going to OCNJ in 2 weeks, but since I'm nearing my 30th coaster, I'd skip this and ride it in 2018, for my 29th will be GaleForce and then either 2018 at Hersheypark or Kennywood I will either ride Phantom or Skyrush for my 30th. I'm not 100% enthusiast because I don't travel to park to park every summer, but I love watching roller coaster videos and learning the history of them. The closest big parks for me are Hershey and Kennywood, the others are quite a trek. I did get to go to Kings Dominion this year, and it seemed some the coasters I wanted to ride were closed. :( I did get to ride Dominator, Woodstock Express, Rebel Yell, Grizzly and Anaconda. I didn't have the guts to ride Intimidator 305.

      Honestly 2017 has been a year for New Jersey, Six Flags got it's Justice League Dark Ride, Galeforce in Ocean City opened, and Hydrus the eurofighter also opened. Galeforce as a coaster wins, I don't agree that's it's anything more than slightly shaky, not rough, Hydrus is smooth but not nearly as intense. You should just ride Galeforce after Wild Waves then you can make Galeforce your 30th, very unique launch launcher that's 4sure. I won't be suprised if clones of it start showing up at other parks now that they got the issues/kinks out. But I still see your reasoning. I'm honestly looking foward that in 2018 I'll be getting another local coaster 'Wild Waves" with hopes Six Flags will get something in 2019, and there "Cyborg's Cyber Spin" just type it in for a youtube search like...holy crap.

    • @sportsygirl8
      @sportsygirl8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man, it sure has! And next year it looks like New Jersey is going to have another year for rides since I saw a week or so ago that Six Flags is getting a new ride and roller coaster or just a new coaster, I can't quite remember. That's cool, I have heard that Hydrus is a lot of fun, if it's anything like Fahrenheit, I'm sure it is fun. I could do that, wasn't quite thinking about that. Galeforce is very unique with a 100 degree drop and even though it looks like there's inversions, there actually isn't any. I wouldn't be surprised either, just like with RMC once one park got one then the others are now following up. Funny that you mentioned kinks. I had said that last year the reason for it not being opened just yet and one of my friends said "This thing sure does look kinky." I sure will look up Cyborg's Cyber Spin.

    • @oneandonlysound3453
      @oneandonlysound3453 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I will say that was a suprise, but, long as it's open by the time I revisit (whenever they are open everyday is the answer). I do feel Galeforce would get rougher faster over time even if it was still pretty good. Hopefully this full retracking will make it smoother like they want, and it'll then proceed to hold up a lot better over the upcoming years. Also, at least the company is fixing the problem. Very much unlike Premiere who never did or cared to do anything to fix Six Flag's GADV's Chiller coaster. Why did they not get sued again?
