Looping Coaster front seat on-ride HD POV Funtown Pier

- Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and this Interpark coaster could not be salvaged and Funtown Pier was not rebuilt.
We were lucky enough to ride it earlier in the year before the amusement park pier was devastated by the powerful storm that hit the Northeast coast of America.
In addition to the on-ride POV, this video also includes a couple of news clips that shows the damage the hurricane inflicted and a news clip that shows that Coney Island was spared from any major damage.
Funtown Pier was located on the Jersey Shore in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

I think I appreciate this video more than any of your others. I've lived my whole life in NJ and one of the greatest things in the world for me as a kid was to go to Seaside Heights and ride the rides at boardwalk. And to see what has happened to it in the last few days is devastating, I feel I've lost a part of my childhood and memories i'll never get back or experience again. Thank you for doing this video before it was too late and I can only hope that they repair it to its former glory.
666kingdrummer Hi... I think more people feel the same as you than you’d think. This was the first loop rollercoaster that I took my brother on when he was little. I’ll never forget it. My brother had to be maybe 5 or 6. I might’ve been like 20 at the time. The ride operator was hesitant to let him on, but I assured him that my little bro would be fine. And he LOVED it!
Anyway, I feel a huge sadness and sense of loss at how much Sandy devastated people’s lives and memories. In fact, I haven’t been down to Seaside since Sandy and the Funtown Pier fire (for various reasons).

Like it says in the title, the name was Looping Coaster and it opened in 1989.

Pinfari has some decent coasters. But the brakes and straight runs can ruin an otherwise good ride !
This one was an improvement as it was actually made by interpark. They still make coasters (though I have only ever seen one model type being built-it's mostly this without the loop and shorter) and they work on repairing still operating pinfari's too. THis one was suprisingly nice though especially on uncrowded days when they ran one car you wouldn't slow down as fast nor come to a hault. Even the cars were more comfortable, really just that jerking spot before the first mid-course break run was a bit rough. I really wish they'd been able to rebuild, or even the opposite pier got something like that one day (but they just got hydrus so maybe in a couple years...maybe.)
Any coaster enthusiast, or anyone, will most likely agree with me on this, but. No matter how rough or painful a ride is, you never like to see a ride destroyed by a storm of this caliber. Seeing Star Jet and this in the Atlantic was depressing. You never want to see that. Six Flags New Orleans suffered a similar fate from Hurricane Katrina. You never enjoy seeing something wash away and rot like Seaside is right now.

Hey if anyone that reads this knows how to do virtual reality 360 videos could you please do some more of them for people like me who lived there at the shore but moved out of state and who realllllly misses being there!! Pleeasee but i dont want to see any freakin bennies in the video! Lol
This video was recorded back in 2012. The channel didn't have the tech for 360 videos back then. Besides Hurricane Sandy destroyed this very coaster that same year. So if you want to see this ride in 360 virtual reality, then your best hope is to look for a simulated recreation of it somewhere.

NITRO$ it’s rebuilded so you should visit casino pier the rides are back but not all the rides cause they didn’t have enough money to bring back the enterprise the star jet and the looping coaster kite flyer and cliff hanger but give it a visit.
Horrible? Seriously? The loop had some intense G-forces and wasn't even remotely rough at all. As a fan of Arrow who is tired of the whining people saying how rough they are, this is far smoother than most of their loopers. The drops are sweet, I think it would've been better if they'd inserted another hill in here rather than 2 giant helixes but honestly this was pretty enjoyable. It was one of interpark's first coasters after they bought out pinfari, and it's leagues better than there horrid loopers and most others. Interpark still makes parts for them which is why so many are still running as well as offer models to build, at least one of which they've built several, and also will do restoration jobs to improve still running Pinfari's (though why they have never offered better trains nor made them for things that don't need a shoulder harness-excluding even a ride with a loop-is beyond me).

Sad thing is that I went to Seaside for the first time (hour away) and walked past this coaster several times when I was there... now knowing that that coaster is underwater.

Guys thumbs up this coment if u agree, I think this was purchased as a non- inverting pinfari coaster then funtown pier bought a loop track from another company, that track looks nothing like any other pinfari loopers

No guys they actually rebuilt the boardwalk in 2013 and the rides and they made it look more better unfortaunely they didn’t have enough money to bring some rides back like the star jet the enterprise starship4000 and all that stuff they use to have
