GaleForce off-ride 4K Playland's Castaway Cove

- This prototype S&S triple launch coaster was scheduled to open in 2016, but needed a new section of track and a re-designed train to operate properly. After opening in 2017 it was determined that the Italian manufactured track was substandard, causing misalignment with the launch stators and a rough ride. During the off-season the entire layout was replaced with new track manufactured by Intermountain Lift in Utah, providing a much smoother ride.

So out of curiosity, did S&S foot the bill for the rebuild because the park management threatened to take them to court or did they take the financial hit for another reason?
They had to foot the bill for the improvements because it's a prototype that they want to sell more of. Interested buyers will be coming to the park to test ride it and they need it running as best as possible, even if it ended up coasting the company more than they made from the initial sell.
I'd say it was worth it though, because they worked with Intermountain Lift who fabricates very very smooth track.

I'd rather ride the one running around the outside, myself. This Galeforce seems to have problems getting the cars up the hills, needing multiple attempts. :-/ Not a good design, I think.
VulpisFoxfire That’s how the coaster is supposed to operate by it being a multi-launch coaster.
It's designed to be this way. They've made it like this so that you can experience more launches on the coaster than if you just went ahead once.

No, but some of the competition got all jacked up. The surviving one as of now is Casino Pier. Playland's Castaway cove was mostly unharmed, partly due to it being built inland while other parks were built on piers extending into the ocean
