Love this, I'm going to watch this again with my two "over-thinking" sons later today. I really appreciate the goal setting idea and examples of the type of goals you set, great stuff!
Great video! Congrats on your first 2 BNXT League games, being within 11 points of winning against the defending champs is no small feat! Hope to catch a game live this season.
I like how the advice you gave was very achievable and tangible. I can understand that. Very well. Pardon me if I'm paraphrasing, but I really like the 2nd advice you gave which is all about focusing on physical things on yourself. Maybe pinching yourself or something of the sort. I never thought of this. Innovative advice for me and ground breaking.
This really helped me, thank you. This next season I'm having to adjust my game from a big to more of a wing because of going into an older group, and taking open shots has always been hard for me, aiming to take atleast 3 shots a game this season. Hope you play your best with your new team
Congracts for reaching 30k. It's a great channel. Keep up the good work! Never even played organised basketball, but i just love your positive and methodothic approach to game, improving your play and also just following journey as a pro athlete.
Great message, exactly what I needed! Thank you ;) Constructive Criticism: Use a little bit less of that music, or change it up a bit. It got quite repetitive after a while. All the best and good luck for the sponsorship! Subscribed!
I m a spot up shooter, yesterday missed 3 straight right elbow 3s in 1 possession game, all are open shot and there is my sweet spot, kinda frustrated and disappointed that I let my teammate down, over-thinking is really a mental block for playing well, when practicing shooting drills, our mind tend to be free shot better
This is tough, but the reality is it happens to all basketball players. In college in a championship game I missed 2 open 3s in the last minute that would have won us the game, and we lost. You did not let your teammates down, you just missed some shots, which happens!
Hey man love the vid, and in my history as a centre I've just kind off stopped when my mind ain't sure what to do, and doing some of the things you mentioned helped me and my decision making has improved and my overall game too
@@TuckerRichardson yeah, luckily for me I had the right coachs around me who helped me a lot, but I've seen a lot of younger players literally freeze up and just dont know what to do and let the stress get to them, but hopefully they see a video like this😅
Hey Tucker, I really appreciate the information you are sharing. My Son school basketball team is struggling this year with a bunch of new players, mostly sophomores and juniors. I saw that you recently played in our summer league (Enloe). You were killing !!!Really wish you could talk to the team. Your videos on confidence being unselfish being a leader will really help. They are starting the season 1-7. If you are able to talk to the team? I’m pretty sure you have Coach Poobie information or just reply to this comment and we can discuss further. Thanks again for your videos 💯💪🏾
To be honest, to stop myself from overthinking i actually just stop thinking. If I can feel myself overthinking in the next timeout i sit down and just try to completley clear my mind. I stop looking at the crowd, and generally just look at the floor and the coach. Then when I get back on the court i find myself taking measured risks and making much better decisions. The way I clear my mind is honestly just by completley listening to the coach and not allowing any other thoughts coming into my mind. Once I have done this i feel like I am truly myself again, and can get back to smoking the other team 😏
Hey, sounds like you have that figured it out. For a lot of people, me included, just sort of shutting off the mind is really difficult. So I usually have to use other tactics to make that happen. Although I agree, really focusing on something like the coaches words or a spot on the court is its own kind of grounding. Thanks for sharing!
@@TuckerRichardson I wasnt trying to say that what you are saying is worthless or anything like that, bc if i thought that i wouldnt have watched the video :). I just felt like sharing this bc I find that it really helps to stop and try to remove yourself from the game, and after doing that refocus again. idk how to really explain it more than i just have lol. I also want to say i love your vids so much. They help me in so many little ways. I'm in australia and i hope to be pro in the national league or better one day, so I try to absorb all the info you have to give, as i know that I am lucky to have to opportunities that i do, such as being able to listen to past and current pros so easily with the internet. so thanks. I'm sorry if my comment cam across as cocky or anything else like that, as that wasnt the point. I was trying to be helpful in my own way.
I didn't take it that way at all, if anything I am just impressed by your process and think it is always great for players to hear how their peers are finding success in any way. So no, you didn't come across cocky! I am grateful for your sharing! Keep working, I know Australian hoops are getting pretty good. In fact, I think it would be really cool to play in Australia one day!
This dude is giving better advice than 90% of youtube, so underrated
Thanks!😁
Overthinking affects my game iq and in game decisions I’m trying to get better at not doing that but don’t always know how to
Hopefully you learn something in this vid!
Brudda it’ll come, keep workin too fam

That is a great idea, the key is to come up with goals that are in their control! Good luck to you!
Thank you for this. I have a game tomorrow and have always struggled with mental blocks. I will try to apply these tips and see how it goes!
Let’s go, good luck with the game!

Thank you, and to you as well! That transition might be tough at first but I think it is definitely the right move if you want to expand your game.
I had a game today and tried the physicial touch and pre game routine and I had one of the best games ever!!! Thank you!!!
That is so great to hear! Did it help you to lock in and not overthink?
@@TuckerRichardson Yes! My Goal was to drive agressive and every time. I did that and i never overthinked!
@@louis30039 way to go! Proud of you!
Great advice, I play much better since I started watching you

Another great vid tuck, thanks for this. Congrats on 30k man you deserve it with the quality of your vids
Thank you!! Long time supporter I appreciate it.
I’ve always been an open minded person of point of view and I really believe in the 70/30 rule I never had a name for it but it really does help
i overthink all the time only in basketball and i overthink EVERYTHING
Hey, I'm right there with you. Hopefully some of these tips can help!

Biggest issue for me… I have a game tonight and I will be using these tricks, as long as I get on the floor haha
I would love to hear a video for coaches.
That is a great idea... What should it be about?
tryouts tmrw wish me luck bro
the best thing i heard is in the first 3 times you have the ball just drive aggressive towards the rim
Could be a good mentality to have for some players!
I found that the key to not overthinking is to not be very smart in the first place. Ask me how I know😅
This is a very good point😂
Thanks for this vid I got try outs tn so i’ll try to use them
Let's got, good luck!
i will try this for the future :D
Good stuff! Hope it helps like it has helped me!
I need the link to that watch!!
To the Whoop? Can just look it right up!
silly question, but what kind of tape do you use to cover your whoop?
I’m not really sure what brand or anything it is. It is white sticky tape that my trainer does for me!
W vid
Appreciate it!
I think, your goal is to become a coach someday.
We will see haha
Thank you I’m now going to drop 77 points in my debut senior game 🧏♂️
I hope so!
