I'm sorry too that you didn't get to see her when she first started performing. She was so unexpected and she blew us away. Underneath all of that crimped hair was a beautiful voice and an amazing song writer. There had never been anyone like her before. She's so talented and I remember waiting for her latest album to come out and then playing it about 30 times until you knew all of the songs. She was that good.
She's still amazingly unusual. I still remember walking up to the cashier at Music+ to purchase her album and the cashier telling me about the group she started with.
This appearance made me fall in love with Cyndi Lauper so many years ago, and I learned to cover this song recently, inspired by this specific performance. I still play it at my gigs and will as long as I am able. Thank you for posting this, Edward!
