About Substance 3D Designer Beginner's Course:
This comprehensive course equips you with the essential skills to dive into Adobe Substance 3D Designer confidently. Beginning with the basics, we'll guide you through the interface, core concepts, and typical workflows. With this base laid out, you'll be able to make your first steps in Substance 3D Designer: creating a new project, adding and connecting nodes, and previewing them in real time. We will then begin the creation of a fabric material from scratch: starting from a thread, then weaving it, and finally embroidering procedural ornaments on it. At this point you will start to feel comfortable with Designer node-based workflow, so we'll push things further by introducing hard-surface techniques to create gemstones and sequins. With the height done, it will be time to add color and roughness information, but also translucency and displacement. Finally, you will learn how to make your material fully dynamic by exposing its parameters, and how to export and reuse it in different software.

Great
This is so cool! I feel like I'm learing such a useful tool for my 3d work! Thank you guys! ♥
Happy to help!
Excellent. Thank you. 👍
awesome!
This goes hard on 2x
a really good tool! I hope you guys update SPainter tutorials because those are a bit old
For some reason holding Ctrl and dragging not working for me while transforming 2D node
Found a solution, when I click (or drag a little) joint and then ctrl + click then it works ( like it's needed first click to be active?).
Hi, I'm following everything exactly as the video shows but for some reason my (RATO) node doesn't show fiber shape as it does on my normal node connected to the base material. Would you please explain what I'm doing wrong or missing? time stamp 12:38 -12:45
Hi there! If you need any advice on that, come on down to the Forum & ask our experts about it. Let’s have a conversation here: [adobe.ly/3KjYLbp] ^Rohan
It's because your cube doesn't have enough geometry i think.
Choose high res plane instead or in 3d view go to materials > default > edit > in the height section increase Tessellation Factor. i manually typed in "60".
This helped a lot! Thank you :)
Hi, When I add a Shape node to the graph, a warning is displayed "The referenced data has some warnings" and the shape node is black instead of white, nohting is happening with the node when I change the parameters. Please let me know what needs to be done.
Hey!
What version of Designer are you using?
@@louisemelin1129 Thanks for the reply. This is the version - 13.1.2 build 7745 commit 1e6555a8 Release (04/06/2024)
Somehow After I restarted the software the issue got fixed. I guess its a norm to make us worried at first and then a simple restart would fix it 🤣
@@arjunaarya Haha I'm glad to hear that then!
I do it like on video adding normal and in my render view I see nothing. it doesnt works why?:(
Make sure your normal intensity is high enough, like 6 or 7
Maybe you forgot to drag you base material into the preview window. Press SHIFT+Right Mouse Button on the Base Material node and drag it into the 3D view window.
@@mopozuJIko No need to press shift actually, a simple right click-drag works! but yes it could be that also
@@louisemelin1129 didn't know that, thank you!
