The 'Don't Open Your Eyes' game actually got me a little bit. Idk if it'd have the same effect on people who don't have sleep paralysis, but a lot of times when I sleep I have that feeling of someone standing over me touching my arm or something. The voice saying that it knows the player is awake scared me too lmao. Because that's always how I feel. "Just pretend I'm still asleep until I can wake up fully and move around."
Yeah it got to me a bit too. Sleep paralysis can be so easily mistaken for spiritual crap going on. I don't even believe in such stuff though I don't rule out there could be ethereal stuff going on but I've just never been proven that it does to be convinced. But this one time, a few years ago, I woke up to feeling someone stroke my head and then a whisper into my ear, saying: "Hey... Hey, wake up..." I could even feel their breath slam against my ear. I first thought my mother had somehow entered my apartment since she has a key. But then when I tried to answer saying I was awake I couldn't. My body wouldn't respond, and I felt this odd pressure on my head and lungs as if I was about to pass out and not able to breathe, and then my whole body started to feel heavier too. My heart was racing and I struggled to move for a while, until I could finally move my arms and open my eyes. No one was there... And the usual rational logical me was so startled that I was seriously thinking for a moment that this was it, this could be the proof. So yeah, for a moment I honestly considered the possibility that it could have been a spirit trying to possess my body for a second cause it felt that way. xD But I always like to find logical explanations proven by science, so I went to read up about this sleep paralysis and was like: "That's it! Oh thank the world there is a logical explanation for it." LOL Still, even knowing that now, it doesn't make it less terrifying when it happens though, it's so freaky.
It just got me back to a nightmare (or sleep paralysis episode) where a dark figure was just lurking above me, staring. No face, no features, just like the beginning of the game. It's fucking terrifying. All I wanted was to "look away" but I couldn't get it out of "my sight" it was like a stuck camera. My head was pounding.

Yeah I actually liked most of his games. I feel like if he just took more time to execute the game properly, update graphics here and there and have some better lighting (in his other games) he'd be a great dev. He is a good dev, but has the ability to be better!
I'm late to the game myself, and haven't played Timore yet, but I have to say that from the videos I watched, the guy has some incredible vision for horror. Loved the imagery.
Concept is all that matters, especially in horror. I mean look at Baldy's Basics for example. Looks shit but it's interesting game mechanics keep it standing
@@rainbowrambo7093 Totally agree. Aesthetics only stimulate one of your senses, and can maybe conjure up genuine fear if done right. But the execution of your game has way more weight in terms of how it can affect you. I've seen games with amazing visuals, and found the actual game laughable. Vidas has a really cool approach to horror, and I'm really excited to see what games come out of it.
Sadly I think the neat ideas and concepts only really started in Timore 6. The others were all pretty terrible even past the visual design, and mostly consisted of nothing happening while mannequins watched. There's nothing nearly as memorable as eyeball cloak man, or the killer rocking horse, or the two bosses, or the penniless evil demon men, or basically anything else from 6.
Don't Open Your Eyes activated my fight or flight response so hard I had to keep my headset muted just in fear of what was going to happen the whole time I didn't need this tonight. Good content though John.
'Bloch Street' = Robert Bloch author of 'Psycho' 'Matheson Street' = Richard Matheson author of 'I Am Legend', 'Duel', 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet' NICE TOUCH!
Also Bachman Road, which is straight outta SH (2, I believe), being Richard Bachman - Stephen King's pseudonym. SH had a lot of author-themed roads/streets so yeah, that's a really good touch :D

Not gonna lie, I had to skip over 'Don't Open Your Eyes' after I figured out the synopsis (when the footsteps got closer). I'm a paranoid schizophrenic, so the idea struck too close to home with some of the hallucinations I've had. I was genuinely spooked from the start.
@@AfrahAfzal1997 It's not necessarily sad. People with mental illnesses live normal lives, they're just not as typical. Hard? Yeah you betcha. No need for pity but good to understand it. @@AfrahAfzal1997 For some reason, I never got notifications on these comments? But it started and peaked in severity in middle school. Most people with schizophrenic spectrum disorders typically start 'presenting' (don't know a better word) in their teen years. It's much more manageable now in adulthood.
@: Yours is now an old comment, too, but I'll reply anyway. Lol. But that's not how my personal disorder works. The 'unknown' is more terrifying to me. When I have episodes, I'm terrified of some great unknown evil Thing that is After Me. Watching scary stuff isn't scary to me. It's like how seeing spooky CG monster models in well-lit concept art settings is waaaaay less scary than when they're in partial darkness or obscured in-game, or why Lovecraftian horror is so effective.
It wasn't even really a game, just some guy whispering into a mic for 5 minutes. There wasn't any gameplay at all, the dialogue choices didn't matter. Definitely the most boring "game" in the video.
I actually really enjoyed Don’t Open Your Eyes. Thought it was a neat, visually minimalistic concept, and utilized the “don’t show your audience too much of the monster” rule of horror very well (how many great horror movies went bad after the monster reveal?). It got a bit too wordy to back up said minimalistic visual style; some vaguer, less flowery dialogue would’ve helped it a lot. Also Timore Dev is getting a lot better and I’m super happy for them! It seems like they’ve learned a lot since their first few games, and their monster designs and new, clever twists are awesome. Timore Dev, keep on trucking along! You’re doing great!!
I remember I was not fond with the original Timore games, but seeing the developer make the newer games really brings up the point that everyone can improve over time. I really loved the way Dia played out. I am happy the dev never gave up and continued to improve on their games. I hope to see more of their future works! :)
I really liked Dia. I got really anxious when you were in the hallway and the population counter changed. I also really enjoy Matt Reeves' games. It scratches a very specific itch. Maybe it's the great soundtrack.
Serious props to the Timore dev for making Dia, that was really good. I said a long while ago that they seem to be getting better and better with each game, and I'm so glad that I was right.
First 3 games are great. Nothing wrong with a Silent Hill inspired atmosphere. I kinda liked Don't Open Your Eyes as well. Might do that one myself and see how far it goes.
Given that it repeats "what do my eyes look like?", I am just assuming it also repeats the entire thing if you say no to opening your eyes the second time.
@@fireblade295 i think it was allowing you to see the different choices... basically it was letting you choose a character and I'm guessing there might be something to conclude from whatever the thing end up looking like
Am I the only one who found the fourth horror game absolutely hilarious , even if it was made by someone younger it’s great to see that they’re trying!
Yeah it was hilarious, but that kid must've learned something from working on it. Also like the concept of it's fun and creepy to drive at night from someone who is too young to drive.

@@peterdasilva7541 I assure you nothing was stolen. The sound you heard was made from scratch! If you guys were wondering at all, Two Lines literally took place in Silent Hill (unofficially, of course). It was a jam game, and the theme was "City", with a bonus for basing the game out of a real city. Even though Silent Hill isn't a real place, it fit the narrative of the story I came up with, and was a fun little nod to one of my greatest influences.

Dia: Dang, the Timore dev's doing some good stuff! Keep it up! Two Lines: This one was interesting to watch from a visual perspective, but I didn't find it all that intriguing otherwise. Nothing wrong with it, especially for being made for a game jam, but it didn't do much for me. Look For Me: I really liked this one until the end dialogue. That went on way too long and spelled out too much. I think it'd have been a lot better to let the players make their own conclusions. A Late Night: Well, if it is a child that made this, props to them for trying. Better to do it this way than to just jump on a bunch of asset packs. But... yeah. Don't Open Your Eyes: I really liked this one until the monster started spouting its dreary thoughts on everything. I usually love dialogue-based games, yet this one didn't do it for me. I think it's because the monster went on way too long for each section rather than continuing the conversation. Great aesthetics, though! It'd be cool to see more in this style. Don't Close Your Eyes: The symbol thing is interesting. The rest... nope. Devout: Please no.
>Make a bunch of terrible jumpscare games to generate publicity >bait and switch and start making decent games now that your name is fairly known Honestly, I think Timore Dev was just playing 4D chess with us all along.
Your demeanor and delivery is so much more pleasant than lots of other youtubers that talk over the dialogue or can't stop making annoying edits, jokes, or pointless chatter all over the video. Thanks for great content.
I thought Dia was pretty neat for a short and spooky game and you can tell someone actually put thought into it. That whole “look over your shoulder” feeling was present until the very end and I kept thinking the body would eventually get up and attack.
Hey John! You should play the "The Last Door" series! The first chapter (all episodes, 1-4) is free online, but both the first and second chapter can be bought on steam (the steam version having some extra content). Wow the timore dev is seriously improving. If you told me 2 years ago I'd be looking forward to their future projects I would've called you crazy, but here we are.
Wow that game being from the timor developer was a massive twist. Sure it was more basic but I think that's the first time that dev has made me creeped out. Props to the dev who seem to be finally improving.

I did recognize the way the model(s) looked on the first game. It's cool to see the improvements Timore dev is making to their games. And this one was free, you said? That's really cool. Two Lines was cool too. It was crazy how the city transitioned into an upside down city. Look for me was also real good. Liked the concept. A Late Night? Hmm... Don't Open Your Eyes was interesting. I guess it's meant to be sorta atmospheric and creepy, but the way the shadow dude keeps talking seemed a bit much. Don't close your eyes was pretty lousy, but the spell tracing mechanic was kinda neat. Devout just felt like looking into the past with all the jumpscare maps and stuff. Though I guess that's still a thing nowadays, people thinking that wandering around empty spaces with jumpscares constitutes gameplay.

The music for Two Lines was real good though...
Reminded me of Selected Ambient Works II, specifically #5
Thank you! You can download the soundtrack for free from the page, if you want :)
@@mattreevesdev it fits so well both the ambience and the chase
I wish I could listen to it individually somewhere.
mattreevesproduction nice job on the music
'Bloch Street' = Robert Bloch author of 'Psycho'
'Matheson Street' = Richard Matheson author of 'I Am Legend', 'Duel', 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet'
NICE TOUCH!
Also Bachman Road, which is straight outta SH (2, I believe), being Richard Bachman - Stephen King's pseudonym. SH had a lot of author-themed roads/streets so yeah, that's a really good touch :D
@@LunarShimmer Yup =) ....and I'm betting 'Levin Street ' is for Ira Levin of Rosemary's Baby fame. There *was* one I couldn't make out cuz John panned by too fast for me. lol
I believe most of them belong to SH as well !
Is I am legend considered horror? I’ve only ever saw the movie and it didn’t feel like it. Book different?
Yes all these names were taken straight out of the SH series and yes they ALL relate directly to Horror Authors
"Timore Dev"
TOP 10 ANIME REDEMPTION ARCS
Also that ending to the first game really was jarring bc of the prerecorded voice lines LOL
Aura The Lilligant Princess shut up the timore games are good
Aw hell yea now I got something to watch before I sleep
sounds just like me
I'm honestly so glad the Timor dev is improving!! They still have a ways to go but we love growth.
Character development is good. They're learning. wich is good. One day they'll actualy make a "good" horror game
@Sherwin Clavito I don't know if the PFP was different 4 months ago, but it's a Slime from Dragon Quest.
WOW. Timore dev is gonna be a horror game legend at this rate. Props to them for putting in the hard work.
Wich is something i want to happen actualy. They are actualy getting good. Its great to see the same devs improve their games over time. Makes it more fun to see them appear next time again
CHIPS, SODA, CORNFLAKES.
@ bro I was just getting ready to use that

Not gonna lie, I had to skip over 'Don't Open Your Eyes' after I figured out the synopsis (when the footsteps got closer). I'm a paranoid schizophrenic, so the idea struck too close to home with some of the hallucinations I've had. I was genuinely spooked from the start.
That's sad :( were you always schizophrenic, like from childhood?
@@AfrahAfzal1997 It's not necessarily sad. People with mental illnesses live normal lives, they're just not as typical. Hard? Yeah you betcha. No need for pity but good to understand it. I recommend anyone reading this to just watch a few videos about people living with schizophrenia or other mental illnesses people class as scary. They are just normal people.
SEVEN? LOL Holy shit. John setting new records on YT.
Thanks for playing our game Dia! Really enjoyed the video
Well done
I really liked "Don't open your eyes".
Voice acting was pretty good, it pulled on some strings being slightly unsettling. Nice game.
Really? That was the worst one. Even the gas station game was better than that
@@juxie9229 what was bad about it ? I think it was the best game.
@@1995Rebel I agree
It wasn't even really a game, just some guy whispering into a mic for 5 minutes. There wasn't any gameplay at all, the dialogue choices didn't matter. Definitely the most boring "game" in the video.
@@squidpope2281 its called a visual novel, you clearly never heard of it
I actually really enjoyed Don’t Open Your Eyes.
Thanks!
8-BitRyan:
“So how many games are you putting in your series?”
John Wolfe:
“Yes.”
12:54 that ambient track is really ambient. very very good
"Don't Open Your Eyes" Is the weirdest dating sim I've ever seen.
DIA: *made by the timor dev*
John Wolfe: *chuckles* See, I pulled a sneaky on ya...
I remember I was not fond with the original Timore games, but seeing the developer make the newer games really brings up the point that everyone can improve over time. I really loved the way Dia played out. I am happy the dev never gave up and continued to improve on their games. I hope to see more of their future works! :)
DIA: Oh, you're approaching me?
John: I can't finish this game without getting closer.
DIA: OH HO, THEN COME AS CLOSE AS YOU LIKE
Vastly underrated comment
I really liked Dia. I got really anxious when you were in the hallway and the population counter changed.
I also really enjoy Matt Reeves' games. It scratches a very specific itch. Maybe it's the great soundtrack.
I liked the look of Dia. kinda predictable when you connect the pieces but it was still better than what it could have been.
"It's also pretending to look like a human" was a pretty good line tbh.
:)
Serious props to the Timore dev for making Dia, that was really good. I said a long while ago that they seem to be getting better and better with each game, and I'm so glad that I was right.
this is the first video im watching fresh out of the treatment center, sending love john!!
@@fireblade295 i think it was allowing you to see the different choices... basically it was letting you choose a character and I'm guessing there might be something to conclude from whatever the thing end up looking like
I died when John fell off the edge of the map. Lmao
RIP 🙏🏼
Am I the only one who found the fourth horror game absolutely hilarious , even if it was made by someone younger it’s great to see that they’re trying!
It was a nice concept too!
Yeah it was hilarious, but that kid must've learned something from working on it. Also like the concept of it's fun and creepy to drive at night from someone who is too young to drive.
I thought it was adorable and if they keep it up they’ll be an amazing creator when they get older
Wow i have to applaud the Timore dev, nicely done!
"Don't Open Your Eyes" is just about an asmr youtuber breaking into your room and harassing you.
nobody:
game developers:
John in almost every random horror games video: sILENT HILL-
well i mean almost all indie horror games are trying to be silent hill so
@@DracoHandsome true. But to be fair, resident evil, outlast, silent hill.
Horror genre icons. Well respected and actualy fucked up games.
Obviously people try to follow the footsteps of whats succesfull and try to reap the rewards from other games popularity. Originality only comes from those that don't nescesarily put finances as a 1st priority.
The second game even stole the creepy shifting siren sound so he’s not wrong
@@peterdasilva7541 I assure you nothing was stolen. The sound you heard was made from scratch! If you guys were wondering at all, Two Lines literally took place in Silent Hill (unofficially, of course). It was a jam game, and the theme was "City", with a bonus for basing the game out of a real city. Even though Silent Hill isn't a real place, it fit the narrative of the story I came up with, and was a fun little nod to one of my greatest influences.
If nobody says nothing, then everybody says something.
Okay but like real talk....
That green dude was creepy af in the gas station one
7?? You're too good to us.
Also damn the autumn game was beautiful and soothing and then those gremlins popped out and my heartbeat went from chill to dying.
Sorry about that! I like to toy with people's emotions, I guess. Not in real life, just my games, lol.
@@mattreevesdev Oh don't get me wrong, I loved the concept and both sets of ambiance. The mood whiplash was real though lol.
(Don't) open your eyes = The ASMR horror game: I Need An Adult!
Dia... like, just "Aid" backwards?
"The voice of aid will guide you." Very subtle.
Considering "timore" is latin/italian for "fear" I'd guess "dia" has some meaning in those languages aswell
@@crazychaze9910 I just looked it up, it also means "God" in Old Irish, which would also make sense.
DIO
BRANDO
I saw kravin play DIA, I also played it, and I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed watching you play it.
You and kravin are the only 2 horror youtubers i watch.
Omg I've seen others play the first game too but after all this time I didn't know it was the timore dev that made it. Awesome job and as always great vid John :3
That's because other TH-camrs like Cory and sean, and that dovis Mark are money hungry game wannabes
OMFG I'M SCREAMING AT HANDLEY SHELTON 2019 OR WHATEVER IT WAS CALLED.
Kirs Tron I think it was made by like an 8 year old lol.
@@ssharkbait I'm not so sure, his patreon talks about being a full time student+ having several odd jobs, but it might not have been the person that has the patreon that made the game. Though truth be told if it had been me that designed it it probably would have looked something like that, handdwriting and all
I looked him up, and apparently he's 19. He just sucks. He posts on an Instagram and a Twitter that literally has like seven followers and nobody responds to anything he posts
Yoooo epic character growth from Timore Dev, I am so down for it 👏👏👏
The "Dont open your eyes" part immediately made me think of the movie "Super Bad" when Micheal Cera is singing "these eyes" for the coke snorting guy
I’m so in love with the soundtrack of Look for Me. So beautifully crafted! 😍
john didnt have to go so hard on this one but he did....................thank you. ngl loved the voice acting in the first game
Everybody I've watched can't read the hand writing for the Late Night game. I had no problem because my hand writing is just as shitty, if not worse haha
OH GOD ME TOO ;_;
Same :')
i love the idea of the timore dev making a game to name-check john specifically and all the other people who play it are just collateral
Yes john I did enjoy that game. Thanks for asking
I really liked Dia a lot. I’m so surprised the Timore developer made that game. I honestly would watch Dia if it was a movie. Good job Timore, dev.
Thank you!
I really liked dont open your eyes. I thought it was super interesting
Honestly I'm really proud of the Timore devs for Dia. I saw the ending coming, but I thought the concept was so cool and was still so creeped out by what's going on regardless. Good on them!
This is probably my favourite Random Horror games video
Glad that you played some Matt Reeves games, he's a really sweet guy. And also thanks for playing another Scream Jam game!
Aw, thanks! I try to be sweet, though my games tend to come out a bit salty, lol.
mattreevesproduction what's the sountrack? I feel really calm listening to it
@@elysiumaster486 The Two Lines soundtrack is available in the downloads section for the game. The Look For Me soundtrack isn't up yet because downloads are locked temporarily. But if you follow me on itchio, you'll be notified when I upload it.
let's be honest you could do a fraction of a second of random horror games and i'd still watch, but SEVEN?? let me grab my dinner. i'm ready
I like to cook while I listen to him play games.
Ginger Kubicz My man!
Thanks! (Dia dev here)
>Make a bunch of terrible jumpscare games to generate publicity
>bait and switch and start making decent games
now that your name is fairly known
Honestly, I think Timore Dev was just playing 4D chess with us all along.
How did you know?!
@@Vidas-Mr.Timore OH SHI-
@@nyaazuri8637 👀
Your demeanor and delivery is so much more pleasant than lots of other youtubers that talk over the dialogue or can't stop making annoying edits, jokes, or pointless chatter all over the video. Thanks for great content.
I thought Dia was pretty neat for a short and spooky game and you can tell someone actually put thought into it. That whole “look over your shoulder” feeling was present until the very end and I kept thinking the body would eventually get up and attack.
Gotta give it to the Timore Dev, even if his games involve just "walking around" he creates great scenarios for his games I like his passion.
I really like the environment in Two Lines. I think the stairways and where they led to was pretty unique.
Seven?! This is amazing, something to watch just as I get home from work ;-;
- If I rip off your ears will you scream?
- It would be extremely painful.

@@Vidas-Mr.Timore Your work on the Timore series has been getting better and better too! Keep up the great work!
Hey John! You should play the "The Last Door" series! The first chapter (all episodes, 1-4) is free online, but both the first and second chapter can be bought on steam (the steam version having some extra content). You don't need to rush or anything, just figured I'd suggest it for future reference!
@Hannahmochi oh, thank you!
although, he hasnt played the second season yet
@Hannahmochi yeah! maybe he'll see this and give it a shot sometime! :D
Wow the timore dev is seriously improving. If you told me 2 years ago I'd be looking forward to their future projects I would've called you crazy, but here we are.
Thanks :D
Wow that game being from the timor developer was a massive twist. Sure it was more basic but I think that's the first time that dev has made me creeped out. Props to the dev who seem to be finally improving.
Thank you!
Don't Open Your Eyes was terrifying for .5 seconds. Then the ASMR started and I busted up laughing. Quality content my guy.
I'd love to see the concept of Dia expanded. It had me genuinely paranoid.
Man, Dia really unnerved me. Games where you're being followed just really disturb me, and that fact that you can't avoid the body makes it even scarier. Super good game imo.
Thank you!
You have become my food guy. Meaning when I grab my food and sit here, I no longer go straight for 'The Office'. I come see the latest random horror games!
Thanks!
Thank you John for this gift. Truly a blessing after a week of finals
Are you going to play a plague tale: innocence? It looks super interesting
Found you due to a GT shoutout (them playing your paper dolls ending since they couldn’t beat it) and I’m so happy! Don’t get me wrong I love GT, but your atmosphere is so much better! Never over analyzing, no erratic shouting, like you just seem like a really cool/chill dude. Iv already subbed and ill be watching all your older vids
I gotta say, Dia was a really cool game. I'm so proud of the Timore dev!

Dia was honestly pretty nice, I never would have guessed it was from the Timore dev. They've come a long way : o

Thank you so much for these long videos. They are perfect for everything. From having some chill time all the way up to ASMR for sleeping.
I love (Don’t) Open Your Eyes so much!!Exactly what I’m looking for in a scary experience.

Damn ....is my disability software having a stroke? Sorry for the multiple posts, deleting!
(first time seeing that happen, wtf?)
Ohhh, well, "Don't open your eyes" guy reminded me of a guy from a great movie called "The Eyes of Julia"
What did you think of Look for Me?
