You know what i finnaly found the real deal to learn it iss tufff picking up instruction that dont take a person down the wrong path .and i know ill be watching this channel its a good one 100%.
Applying the technique to a musical idea... such an important concept, Blue! I want to stop being a pentatonic robot and make music! Great lesson as always 😊
Great coaching to exercise staying away from our comfort zone more often. With your suggestions it's easy to implement and a good opportunity to improvisation and creativity encouraging you to use what you already know in different ways. Thanks for another super Lesson to carry on improving...
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver Looks Great now, not sure what it was... I even tried to close and reload with the same results??? Thanx Blue, LOVE the videos. Always looking forward to Saturday mornings, a cup of coffee, and your next lesson.
i always pick slipped, missed pick and pick wrong strings. even though im focusing well. i also playing slow but still occuring. its frustrating. please send help thank you
Make sure to practice things slow and steady before you speed up. Usually all those pick misses are due to students trying to play things too fast. Maybe work on alternate picking with some pentatonic patterns. It's not as fun, but spend time practicing the pentatonic shapes up and down with alternate picking, making them as clean as possible. Don't speed up until you can play all the notes without any misses. It takes time for everyone. You can do it :)
I must disagree about starting a practice session with something difficult to play. Always warm up with something familiar then do the hard work once your fingers are ready. Also I never try to warm up on scales - much better to strum chords for a few minutes.
Bravo..always learning something new. Clipped the video at :51 seconds to check how you raked up and down then hit that Em..watched many times..could you elaborate?
Not as complex as it may seem. First hit is a scratch -- touch strings with left hand but don't push them down, so you just get the percussive scratch sound -- then a couple strums of the chord. Sometimes think of dragging your pick across the strings just a little slower then you might normally, so each string is heard individually, but still quick enough to stay in time. Can do that with a down strum, and/or and up strum. Thanks for watching!

Thank you Steve!
Man I’ve been playing in bands since I was 20 and faked it the whole time I’m 67 now and finally started learning the correct way thanks to you 👍🏻🙏
Well done you can do it! It's worth it. New lessons coming here almost every Saturday 🎸
Shape 5 is cooler than I thought. I usually just use it for the b and e high strings
Thank you! That's a good observation, I think that might be true for a lot of guitar players. But for sure Shape 5 has a lot :)
Nice video Blue - great ideas to shake up the routine
Thank you Tim!

Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
Great directional lesson. I have been finding myself stuck while playing. Being focused is wise.
Thank you again!
Is it my video playback on the video quality at 2:27 that dropped, or something OOMC (Out Of My Control) ;)
Didn't notice @Hexbyte965 but I was watching on my phone
It looks okay to me throughout. Might be an anomaly with YT, seems good now.
