I just clicked on this I really love the sound you're getting out of your combination. I've always been a straight up player just some reverb no pedals nothing else I'd like to try that sound you're getting I generally play off a strat but I have several other kinds of guitars but not a tele. Some Ideas would be gladly taken into consideration. I plug you everyday into a pretty much modern crate but ever since I was in high school which is in started nineteen-seventies my main day was a fender bassman which I just played clean channel still in great shape it's just a bit much to lug around .
@@tomstulc9143 Fender Bassman sure would sound good. But my back and arms can't lift it haha. I use a Deluxe Reverb, or even just a pedal ... the UA Dream 65. I can't tell the difference.
I am absolutely devouring this lesson. I like how you just riff around the shapes instead of teaching a particular tune. One of my (many) flaws is once I learn a lick or a pattern I tend to go back to it instead of noodling around. In the past few days my noodling with this lesson has greatly increased my fret board knowledge. Perfect lesson at the perfect time in my development. Awesome job!

I have been playing guitar for 20 years, but Blue is simply a phenominal teacher and a lot of his ideas and techniques never occured to me. I Just bought his book 5 seconds ago to see what else I don't know. I still have trouble connecting the geometry, but just a few lessons here and I have made a major leap. As soon as you mentioned the "let It Be" solo near the end of the video, the light bulbs went off for me! You lessons are excellent and thoughtful! Keep up the good work! I purchased your Soloing book and I have been using it regularly to compliment your online lessons!

I've been playing for 40 years and just devourer the TH-cam videos. So many resources for learning now compared to the 80s, when I started.

I accidently found this the other day when I was watching Billy Gibbons play. I picked up the guitar and played the c, d and e bar chords and figured out how to slide to the major pentatonic for the major chord. Was amazed to see this lesson, this lesson has taken me the rest of the way.
I've recently discovered you and your lessons. Thankfully. You play beautifully yet you don't show - off. You put things simply yet they are a little piece of a big picture. I had a few 'a-ha!" moments here this morning. Especially how different root notes are used in major pent. vs. minor pent.-it's all on where you start. I've struggled with this and it's much clearer now. Thanks from TN.

This is what I needed. When watching someone teach theory without showing an application, I get frustrated though I know I have "some" chops and I can't be that daft. What you taught, Mr. Vancouver, made sense and is actual music. Very nice. I will buy your first book though learning from a book has not done me tons of good in the past. Now computer nerdy stuff, I can learn from a book. To learn music I like to see it, hear it and have simple explanation. You did this well. Thank you a few hundred tons. ☺

You can use the MP3 downloads to listen to the rhythm of each exercise. Then just learn the notes by the tab, and the rhythm by listening to the tracks. Then you can learn to read the rhythms at a later day :)

This is one of the most helpful videos I've seen on TH-cam for learning guitar! I've been playing for about 15 years with a 4 to 5 year break in the middle when my daughter was born. This just made something click in my mind finally and instantly made me a better guitar player! Thank you so much! I have one question still though. Excellent, this lesson pieced together a lot of the things I knew in such a cohesive and useful way. Taking the shapes we all know and showing a simple and awesome way they can work together. Love it, I’m gonna use this trick all the time now haha
Outstanding. Really enjoyed this lesson. Can 't wait to practice this concept. I was all over the elements of this lesson,however, I could never put the puzzle pieces together until now. Game changer.
Well for cryin’ in the sink. That is a useful lesson! I’ve been playing in and around that pattern but never really heard it explained so well. I think it’s because 99% of the time I’m playing my chords with the root on the 6th string. And that three note barre that’s so cool for the Hendrix double stops and so on. This is great for learning to play as part of the song rather than just a blitz of notes off of whatever pentatonic scale is appropriate. I found you book on Amazon so I will order it later.

Excellent, this lesson pieced together a lot of the things I knew in such a cohesive and useful way. Taking the shapes we all know and showing a simple and awesome way they can work together. Love it, I’m gonna use this trick all the time now haha

Well for cryin’ in the sink. That is a useful lesson! I’ve been playing in and around that pattern but never really heard it explained so well. I think it’s because 99% of the time I’m playing my chords with the root on the 6th string. And that three note barre that’s so cool for the Hendrix double stops and so on. This is great for learning to play as part of the song rather than just a blitz of notes off of whatever pentatonic scale is appropriate. I found you book on Amazon so I will order it later.
