Hi Tim & Dad, personally I would use the diesel.. rip out all of the petrol systems build a testing stand with the electronics and make that a separate (long term) project figuring it out. then once you fix it you can either reinstall the petrol system and sell it to try and get some money back. Basically your dad is 100% right,, you want the diesel for almost instant all day long stress free motoring. As a side note and revenge on a liar, I would go dump a whole bag of sugar in your old fuel tank and give him some heartache
Maybe the RB will live the rest of its life listening to doof doof and doing circles in a MacDonalds car park who knows. But what we know is the 4x4 deserves a decent diesel. Sorry to hear about the rego delay frustration and extra money spent but no use sending good money after bad is my vote.
right now the level of frustration when you can not identify the problem is damming. The diesel should be easier in the way that there are not alot of electronics, most possible problems should be easy to identify in the diesel set.
Hey Tim, what was your reason for the swap to get this in the first place? Just the newer body shape? I'm a Landcruiser owner, so I don't get Patrols - but turbo diesel is a wonderful thing! Even better, the twin turbos (in my 200 series) rolling coal overtaking on the highway, towing a 2 ton boat, with clouds of black smoke billowing out the exhaust as people look on in horror... It's a beautiful thing
As a patrol guy I don't get the LandCruiser thing lol. The reason for the swap was I wanted to go to the newer platform of the GQ for the coil springs all round and the strongest diffs and box available. The plan was always to put the v8 but I didn't plan on doing it that soon.
mate, I feel you're frustration...., think this time you got screwed and you're too much of a nice bloke to have a go at the seller, given that you accepted the challenge, however i'm thinking not all truth was told to you and unfortunately nice guys do come last sometimes. BUT ! Wait ! ( i am only 6 minutes into the video lol) I'm sure you will come out the other side either smelling like roses or grinning like a cheshire cat !. Cheers, Frank
you're grinning like a cheshire cat lol., I think you will persevere and do your darndest to make this happen, defeat ain't in your vocabulary . @@HarpersShed

Time and work commitments mostly mate. It has been very difficult to get back out to the boat to do work or film anything. Wife, 3 kids and 2 jobs ( not including TH-cam) sometimes means the video work gets left behind. I hope this has answered your question and thanks for watching 👍
Come on mate. There is no bad content. It's called life. I spent forever welding up my shed tube rails to hold the tin up. Made one backwards. Fuck oh well. Send you a pic when it's up, right now your roasting and I am soggy
@@greglomas7620 thanks mate, yeah unfortunately it will be a few weeks before the next episode comes out as I'm going to have to get parts and put it all together. Thanks for the support 🙂
Wolf ECUs are horrible. Even a Nistune flash on a factory ECU would be better. Bin it and go with the diesel. Listen to dad, dont waste your time. Dont get me wrong, I love the RB30s, I still have a couple myself....but in skylines which are half the weight of the GQ.
scrap the petrol 6cylinder, , fit the v8 diesel, and be done with it. less heart ache. life is too short to be screwed around with that , junk the petrol
Pull out the six, you gave it the old college try, it didn't work, not your fault like you said others have butchered the wiring and who knows what else. Drop in the 8, just my opinion.
Fellas I feel your pain. Don't carry on do it once and do it with DIESEL . More fun easier and right first time. Good luck
No shame. Pursued it as you did and didn't get a result. So much respect. Don't go changing, just to please me, love you just the way you are.
Thanks mate, yeah can't say we didn't give it a good try
Now you’re just being silly, oops i mean “Billy” lol love your comment
You and your dad are great together! Mix of comedy and facts!
Don't know about facts, more just carrying on lol
Trash the petrol and go the diesel. It sucks that your "runner" isn't. I feel your pain!
Thanks mate, bit annoying but one door closes another opens as they say
and this is a good thing unless you are driving at the time! @@HarpersShed 🤣

Diesel mate (with stacks)👍🏻
DIESEL DIESEL DIESEL DIESEL
You just answered your problem, put the diesel in this channel is turning into Days of Our Lives LOL one drama after another
Yeah it certainly feels that way. Hopefully I can pull it together and make some forward progress instead of backwards
I vote for letting the wreckers have it and ......getting back to the boat work, Even though I thoroughly enjoyed these vids.
Boat video coming very soon mate. I didn't intend this to turn into a big project but that seems to be the way things go with me.

Thanks mate, unfortunately things are not going according to plan. I will put up a video soon explaining what's happening and why the lack of content.

that boat is the worst to be fair lol. Just a floating bit of drift wood
Wasn't far off it when I first got her but it's worth more now 🤣
Could be love
Give each other a hug or handshake and make a new plan with the diesel bud
Lol well we had a few beers and made the decision 😄
i would def go with the diesel. will be a much more reliable, simple to understand/repair, and likely resistant to possible EMP
