The Queen at Liberian Independence, Africa.
Queen Elizabeth II is driven in an open car with officials (including President of Liberia, William Tubman?) away from a large white building and past cheering crowds. Several shots of spectators. Some in traditional costume playing instruments and singing. The Queen is greeted on arrival at an event by a little blonde girl and some African children who present her with bouquets of flowers. She is accompanied by an official as she walks along and chats to people. Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh) is also seen.
Beautiful sunset (or sunrise) over the sea with palm tree in foreground. Queen gets into open car with officials and is driven off. Prince follows in the next car. Crowds wave as they go past.
M/S of billboard with 'God Bless Our Beloved President WVS Tubman' beside a painting of the man. Another shows the Queen and the President with two flags and 'Welcome To Liberia'. Union Jack flag flying; pan up to colourful balloons against a blue sky. C/U of balloons with 'Queen Elizabeth of England' on them. L/S of liner ship approaching (Royal yacht Britannia?). The ship comes alongside a pier where crowds and officials are waiting, including President of Liberia. Queen and Prince Philip come walking down carpeted steps and are greeted by officials. Queen inspects Guard of honour. Tracking shots going along crowd-lined streets. Monrovia City Hall. Queen arrives and is greeted by officials, then goes inside.
High angle shot panning over town - Monrovia? L/S crowds in street. M/S of large, modern building.

Wow! It’s often said, time and change is inevitable - It deeply pained my heart to see how good time flies and everything turnout to be memories.
From the eyes of faith, I want to believe that Liberia was beautiful and peaceful during those days.
If you’re watching in (2022) Imagine the generation of today, consider crime rate on the increase, thus violence being the order of the day.
It’s so sadden to see one of Africa’s oldest republic being the way it is in the 21st century.
My love for Liberia 🇱🇷 is beyond measures and it’s my prayer that our country may improve in every aspects ❤️🇱🇷✌️
Thanks for your visit back then queen, may your soul Rest In Peace

Can you imagine mingling in crowds like that today and riding in an open car? Times have really changed. President Tubman and the Queen had no fear of harm. Today....

The Queen was so respectful of cultures and indigenous people. See how she reached out and collected the flower from the little black girl and not the white girl, because she knows she is in an African soil. Respect Queen

Just so there's no confusion, Libera was never a British or any other colony. This is actually the 100th birthday of the nation.

Sam you call this normal? When wealth and political positions were base on names and family associations. When we the native people were considered less Liberians . These people ( Americo Liberians) did more harm to this country then you will ever admit

Rules that country for 27 years and he didn't lay out the country now see how the people are suffering. These are the people who spoiled all the opportunities to make Liberia 🇱🇷 better. And some groups of people putting the blame on George Weah to fix the state. Smh
