The WRX shines in winter weather - so agree it is a great choice for a road trip in January! Glad it kept you and your family safe. If I had one complaint - and it is a minor one - it would be that maybe it could use a taller 6th gear. The rpm's feel a bit high at highway speed, so taller gearing (or an added 7th gear) could help with fuel mileage. When I first got my WRX (22 Limited), have to admit I would have the urge to upshift on the highway when I was already in 6th gear.
“Whatcha doin back here boy” 🤣🤣🤣. I do the same, stopping in populated areas. Also, my road trip approach is to call ahead to reserve where I’m going to stop an hour or two ahead, that way the only thing that happens is, I hand over my card and pay. I can get away with that because I don’t sound…um…like people think I should… another great video, and glad you travelled safely!👍🏽
@ I use a 4 hour limit (DC to NY) for road trips. The VB with Eyesite changes a lot. I also use Eyesite when I’m not tired. Do you have the SOS feature on your VB?
QUE!!!!! I just wanna congratulate you on your follow count growing and the amount of videos you’ve made for us. I can’t wait for all the TR content you’ll have In the future. Keep on keeping on sir ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
"Whatcha Doin back here boy" took me out 🤣🤣🤣 Aww man poor Racoon ☹ I'm glad you guys made it through the storm safely and yeah man the regularu Subaru WRX Limited was amazing for road trips so I'm sure that the TR is even better because of how much fun it is to drive.
Definitely learned from you with the tank, I didn’t know if it was at 0 miles on the cluster you actually have 2 gallons left. That “Whatchu doing back here boy” took me outta here! I heard that when I was in Lousinana 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@ ayyyeee! “Gots to be careful out here” that’s a good move especially for our cars with strange tire dimensions. Well not strange, I should say not common
You seemed to be well prepared. I like energy drinks, water, some gum and good music/podcast to drive here in the west. Glad you brought an actual spare. Good to know your road trip with the TR was overall a solid experience.
You have to wait all the way to the 23 minute mark to find out he was on all seasons. Wasn't sure if he had dedicated snows given where he lives. Great video!
@@QueTheChaotic Nice!!! Dude I've had it since 2014 got it for $22k with just over 30k miles been best vehicle I've ever owned! Has 188k with minimal problems
Honestly I’m really bad with road trips like one time I was two hours away from home and the sleepiness was hitting me so bad to where I had to stick my head out the window to stay awake 💀 Glad yall made it home safe tho🫂
li live 3 hours away from work so i riad trip often lol. But I don't drink energy drinks unless I drive more than 4 hours. I always keep a bag of essentials in my car at all times. Change of clothes hygiene bag and water with snacks. Love to see the WRX doing great things.
They say you can run 87 octane on new WRX if you want but I assume you'll lose 20-30 hp. I remember engineering explained made a video about it few years ago when VB came out. Me personally would only run 93 unless no choice 91 I want all the juice lol. Wait until you get into ethanol tuning it's addicting

A taller 6th gear would help. It sits very close to 3000 RPMS at highway speeds

It’s the perfect road trip car. Now I need and exhaust or a tune 🤔

TR is amazing, great video, cool insight into your trip w/the TR.
Thank you🙏🏾

Loo-uh-vul is generally how the locals pronounce it. My in-laws are from there.
Ah. That’s an odd pronunciation for the accent.
Nahhh we call as we see it! LOUIS VILLE 🤣🤣🤣

Keep up the good work!
Yessir! Will do cuz. Stay safe down there
AWD is a beautiful thing to have on these type of days
Absolutely
@QueTheChaotic I live in Colorado have G37XS sedan for that and NC2 Miata nice days. Budget version of your garage lol

Great info on the fuel economy change with the wing. That may keep me from getting one now. I commute 20 to 30 miles to work daily, mainly highway.
I didn’t expect it to be so bad
