Fuh Hire was one of the strongest decks in the history of Duel Links, I still remember when it arrived in 2018 to change the game completely, being one of the tier 0 decks in the history of the game
I’d be interested to see a “Top Ten Cards that are WORSE in Duel Links”. Stuff like Block Dragon or Miscellaneosaurus that are completely unlimited in DL because they don’t have some of the stuff from the TCG that makes them broken there. Or even stuff like Droll & Lock Bird, which is in DL but sees zero play.
Block Dragon is still a broken card, able to search that many card, and it's easy to summon. Too bad there not enough good Rock Earth monster in Duel Links. Maybe if Konami release Adamncipators to duel link there' a change that Block Dragon have same fate like other formats
I've suggested this multiple times now but spells/traps that don't feature fusion in their name but have effects to fusion summon, invocation, dragonmaid changeover, void imagination, destruction sword memories, ect.
I keep see people asking why Champion's Vigilance is still limited even though we now have a bunch of skills that let characters just normal summon their vanilla ace monster without tributing.

@@harrywang4769 half your LP is a cost (there a semi colon after it), it's just one most people are more than willing to pay for that effect. However, Duel Links doesn't even have Solemn Judgment the only Solemn we have is Scolding.
Idk how good Fossil fusion is in TCG, but in DL it's really good as many popular decks rely on high level monsters. With the existing hand rip+draw cards you can realistically cripple your opponents strategy before their turn even starts and then put out uniquely powerful fusion monsters.
@@buchiklop110Arguably faster true to the name cause you're not waiting 30 minutes for the opponent to cycle through their entire deck just to flex and finally OTK you. Though Link comboes still take awhile to run, most of the Link monsters seem deliberately weaker and harder to pull off due to the smaller board size so at least most individual turns do go faster.

Harpies was a huge deck a couple of years back, but it had its weakness also, and the deck was Lunalights. It was always fun playing Lunalights against Harpies in those times in Duel Links.
Hehe both those decks saw nerfs and limitations but are still very splashable due to how great thier boss monsters are and how flexible they are. I like using Harpies just to have that "Send monster back to hand" that destroys boss monsters pretty much for free, and if I don't need it, there's a TON of good rank 4s to go into as alternatives. Still a fantastic deck that somehow only got better as time went on despite not getting anything more than Cyber Slash Harpie.

Yeah they nerfed Raging dragon after Yugo's addition cause everyone was running that combo and saw how easy it was to destroy the opponent with it whether using Yuya or Yuto (as they both have it). It lead to a ton of mirror matches where you had to just outplay your opponent, but it was scarily consistent.
Evocator Chevalier has probably the most badass looking character art in Yu-Gi-Oh. I used to have the first edition of that from a structure deck of geminis back in like 2007 or something and I always wanted to make a deck based around that card and Phoenix Gearfried.
Same here! Not only do they sport some of my favorite card art, but they are really fun to play. Despite numerous nerfs, they still are flexible as a good Level 4 engine for Rank 4s and the ability to "SEND" a monster to the hand (or back to the extra deck really) is always valuable. Ooh immune to destruction Zuzu? I have an answer to that!
@@luigifan4585 Nah, back when Fur Hires were in business, it was much harder to earn gems, and I didn't spend any cash on gems, so while I was constructing my masked hero beatdown deck (another meta deck back then), I was being eaten for breakfast, whenever fur hires showed up.

Duel Links gets a bad rap. Granted, recent skills have made a lot of cards (most notably Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon and the entire Black Luster Soldier and Toon archetypes) competely and utterly broken, but it's still a lot of fun. Especially if you are a fan of the various anime, as a few of them take place after their respective series. Also, Rush Duels are pretty fun.

there is just two things I would add to the cards on the video: - Skills that work with Star Blast (like Acces Denied) did not have the "from 5th turn onwards" prior to the introduction of the spell in the game.... the actually got nerfed like that exactly because of Star Blast - also, you would use waaaaay better cards than Gandora with the skill - I remember people going full Infernity Combo in DL (or as full as it could be at that time), than Star Blast-ing Doom Dragon and activating Access Denied, for example. - The description of Cyber Slash does not encompass how good the card is (or was) in DL. If you had a Synchro deck that could synchro for 8 and had no skill restrictions that prevent it, you would add Cyber Slash as the best generic lvl 8 monster - this has only changed recently, after Void Ogre, Crystal Wing and Berserker of the Tenyi were added to the game (in that order - and Void Ogre was still a hard sell against Cyber Slash). Like, pre-Vrains release, Cyber Slash was basically a lvl 8 version of Baronne in Duel Links.
Some other cards that I think are worth mentioning because of skills: 1. D/D/D Doom King Armageddon: pretty much does nothing in the TCG except being a level 8 for Xyz. In DL, it's central to D/D strategies because of the skill that sets the pendulum scale if you have it on hand. 2. Raidraptor Rise Falcon: same as above: central to the deck cause of the skill. It can be summoned from any RR Xyz monster and search a rank-up magic. 3. Black Luster Soldier: the vanilla one and pretty much any other BLS form. A skill exists that puts 6 monsters + super soldier ritual at the start of the duel in the grave. It also has another skill effect where you can search another BLS if you summoned one, and search an additional ritual spell if you summoned the vanilla. 4. Armed Dragon Level 10 Thunder: not as bad as the other ones in the TCG, but DL allows this, White and DAD to exist in the same deck while being ultra consistent. 5. Sephylon the Ultimate Timelord: not exactly that good in DL either, but I think it's worth mentioning cause the skill lets you get to Infinite Light very easily and cheat this out. It also serves as a backup plan if ever timelord traps are removed cause of the skill to add 10 Timelords to the grave. 6. Meklord Astro Triskelia: this card being added to DL actually put Meklords to tier 2 at one point. The consistency of the skill and this thing's power was so good.
Also one of the most annoying monsters ever it made really hard to compete and earn gems and everyone was running around with it and I had just started playing again made me quit
Not anymore dude. Been playing DL for years and she hardly sees play as of late. Like the last person I duled used her but that was over 6 months ago. I'm not even calling Cyber Harpy trash,just saying she's been swept under the rug in favor of better support
Some other cards I think made a very good impression in DL would be: F.A. Hang on Mach - which was the reason for the nerf to the Level changes skills in the Synchro era in DL. It was mostly played with Darklors, due to their high levels you can copy/increase to Hang on Mach. Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En - In the early Synchro era there were no good Synchro decks until Six Samurai was playable (got more Support + the Synchro Boss monster), having a Spell/Trap negate once per turn without cost was huge back then. The Fossil Warrior Archetype in general - Rogue tier atmost, but still made a decent good deck which was able to get you to KoG, even today. Endymion, the Magistus Mastery - It's more of a one-card engine. It draws you a card and depending on which card it equipped to itself with it's effect you can either: - add another copy of it to your hand (thining your deck) - negate an opponents Effect monster's effect (there are other ED monsters with effect but those two are the most played iirc)
I'm almost positive there aren't enough cards for a Top 10 Cards That Were Only Limited In Master Duel. The only card in Master Duel I can think of that has differing Limited status from the TCG and OCG is D.D Dynamite. There's definitely enough for a list of cards in Master Duel that have summon animations over much better cards in their archetype, but I can't of a title for it that isn't damn near a whole sentence.
I'm still shocked that Duellinks has Orcust, Dragon Link, Knightmares but not ABC when the existence of 3 minster zones limits the deck's strength inherently...
Cyber Slash Harpie Lady is special to me personally. I didn't join Duel Links until February 2019 and for a super long time I wasn't able to get past platinum in ranked. But eventually I could make legend and then it was with a full power Harpie deck that I made my first King of Games in May 2021. And I've had an unbroken KOG streak ever since then with a variety of decks but I owe the start of the success to Cyber Slash
Both Dark Magician and Blue Eyes are still good in Duel Links. Meanwhile in the real TCG they're pretty lackluster. Because every now and then I'll duel a player with a deck built around these two arctypes and have some difficulty defeating them.
Duel LInks is still just slow enough that seeing 3 3k beatsticks on turn 1 is kind of hard to answer, and the Blue eyes fusion and synchro monsters, as well as the White dragon that removes spells and Alternative that literally special summons itself and the 4000 lifepoints you have, Blue eyes still needs to be respected. Even Red eyes can do some sneaky stuff with access to powerful rank 7s and for Duel links, good fusion targets and amazing revival potential as almost every Red eyes card is about recycling.
@@MarioMastar You're correct,the Dark Magician support in DL. Let's you instantly destroy and remove from play front and back row cards. Making useful at clearing out your opponent's strategy they've worked to build. Still all of these archetypes in the TCG can't hold a candle to the current meta or more archetypes with superior support.

I think they should do a mode in Duel Links where there's no skills, just the Speed Duel format. I think that would have it's own separate meta, because of the whole 4k LP and no Main Phase 2. And no archetypes or cards getting extra powers because anime.
Please do Top 10 archetypes with multiple different extra deck monster, thry need to have like more than 2 because almost all of them archetypes in the game received a link monster !

I also like how Yusei's ability that sets up Shooting Star dragon is almost the ONLY way to get Shooting star on the field.... good luck summoning the level 2 Formula Synchron to get it on the field otherwise. Jack's Nova Archfiend is WAY easier to bring out cause you can simply synchro climb, but Shooting Star.... you NEED the ability...
@@MarioMastar think someone combined Jack monsters with to do it but yea, Nova dragon is easy because it doesn't require a synchro tuner. If his tuner stardust can change its level at will then summoning shooting star will be better.

I had war flashbacks hearing Fur Hire mentioned. It was bad, ranked duels were unplayable. If you went first, you lost. If you went second without playing Fur Hire, you lost. Duel links up to that point had a much slower format. Even though they are called speed duels, games regularly went beyond the 10 or even 20 turn counter. Fur Hires was the point where OTKs weren't just gimmicks.
The #1 on this list has seen some competitive play in Naturia Runick, as it can be triggered by either player and the runick engine has no shortage of ways to trigger it for free removal - though that deck had such a short lifespan in the tcg due to the hit to Sacred Tree. Still seeing some play in Master Duel though.
People who complain about Raging Pendulum probably never lived in the Harpies meta. They were such a nightmare that they still see play (and I enjoy crushing them with my BLS deck, no mercy for them)

When I used to play duel links I ran this Subterror deck and it was a bitch to go against because it had everything (Massive back row removal,monster banishing,pops, and massive damage swings). I hit some random dude for like 4600 once with a single baddie

Yea, the slower speed was back in the day. Once Pendulums and Links dropped, the game became just as fast as the main game.

Just fyi: Swallow's Nest can be used on Winged Beasts of any level to summon another one with the same level from your deck.
So much love for harpies. They were my go to deck for my final 2 KoG pushes in order to get the 10 KoG icon. To this day I still use them frequently

@@luigifan4585 Nah, back when Fur Hires were in business, it was much harder to earn gems, and I didn't spend any cash on gems, so while I was constructing my masked hero beatdown deck (another meta deck back then), I was being eaten for breakfast, whenever fur hires showed up.
If the Top 5 doesn't have Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon or Orcust Dingirisu, then the list is a fail.
@@buchiklop110 Raging dragon was good in the TCG though, and orcust's send to graveyard effect saw play too. That's most likely why they weren't on the list.

I would add the Shiranui synchro monsters who see no competitive play in the tcg but were a META deck in duel Links.
Duel Links gets a bad rap. Granted, recent skills have made a lot of cards (most notably Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon and the entire Black Luster Soldier and Toon archetypes) competely and utterly broken, but it's still a lot of fun. Especially if you are a fan of the various anime, as a few of them take place after their respective series.
Also, Rush Duels are pretty fun.

This combo made red eyes a meta deck.
there is just two things I would add to the cards on the video:
- Skills that work with Star Blast (like Acces Denied) did not have the "from 5th turn onwards" prior to the introduction of the spell in the game.... the actually got nerfed like that exactly because of Star Blast - also, you would use waaaaay better cards than Gandora with the skill - I remember people going full Infernity Combo in DL (or as full as it could be at that time), than Star Blast-ing Doom Dragon and activating Access Denied, for example.
- The description of Cyber Slash does not encompass how good the card is (or was) in DL. If you had a Synchro deck that could synchro for 8 and had no skill restrictions that prevent it, you would add Cyber Slash as the best generic lvl 8 monster - this has only changed recently, after Void Ogre, Crystal Wing and Berserker of the Tenyi were added to the game (in that order - and Void Ogre was still a hard sell against Cyber Slash). Like, pre-Vrains release, Cyber Slash was basically a lvl 8 version of Baronne in Duel Links.
Some other cards that I think are worth mentioning because of skills:
1. D/D/D Doom King Armageddon: pretty much does nothing in the TCG except being a level 8 for Xyz. In DL, it's central to D/D strategies because of the skill that sets the pendulum scale if you have it on hand.
2. Raidraptor Rise Falcon: same as above: central to the deck cause of the skill. It can be summoned from any RR Xyz monster and search a rank-up magic.
3. Black Luster Soldier: the vanilla one and pretty much any other BLS form. A skill exists that puts 6 monsters + super soldier ritual at the start of the duel in the grave. It also has another skill effect where you can search another BLS if you summoned one, and search an additional ritual spell if you summoned the vanilla.
4. Armed Dragon Level 10 Thunder: not as bad as the other ones in the TCG, but DL allows this, White and DAD to exist in the same deck while being ultra consistent.
5. Sephylon the Ultimate Timelord: not exactly that good in DL either, but I think it's worth mentioning cause the skill lets you get to Infinite Light very easily and cheat this out. It also serves as a backup plan if ever timelord traps are removed cause of the skill to add 10 Timelords to the grave.
6. Meklord Astro Triskelia: this card being added to DL actually put Meklords to tier 2 at one point. The consistency of the skill and this thing's power was so good.
Skills shouldn't count since there's no "skills" in TCG

Not anymore dude. Been playing DL for years and she hardly sees play as of late. Like the last person I duled used her but that was over 6 months ago. I'm not even calling Cyber Harpy trash,just saying she's been swept under the rug in favor of better support

Some other cards I think made a very good impression in DL would be:
F.A. Hang on Mach - which was the reason for the nerf to the Level changes skills in the Synchro era in DL. It was mostly played with Darklors, due to their high levels you can copy/increase to Hang on Mach.
Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En - In the early Synchro era there were no good Synchro decks until Six Samurai was playable (got more Support + the Synchro Boss monster), having a Spell/Trap negate once per turn without cost was huge back then.
The Fossil Warrior Archetype in general - Rogue tier atmost, but still made a decent good deck which was able to get you to KoG, even today.
Endymion, the Magistus Mastery - It's more of a one-card engine. It draws you a card and depending on which card it equipped to itself with it's effect you can either:
- add another copy of it to your hand (thining your deck)
- negate an opponents Effect monster's effect
(there are other ED monsters with effect but those two are the most played iirc)
I'd say Ninaruru, the Magistus Glass Goddess to pop backrow is certainly among the most common Endymion uses.

I'm almost positive there aren't enough cards for a Top 10 Cards That Were Only Limited In Master Duel. The only card in Master Duel I can think of that has differing Limited status from the TCG and OCG is D.D Dynamite. There's definitely enough for a list of cards in Master Duel that have summon animations over much better cards in their archetype, but I can't of a title for it that isn't damn near a whole sentence.

Technically they do have ABC, just not the fusion monster. A, B, and C are all free card trader cards.

Cyber Slash Harpie Lady is special to me personally. I didn't join Duel Links until February 2019 and for a super long time I wasn't able to get past platinum in ranked. But eventually I could make legend and then it was with a full power Harpie deck that I made my first King of Games in May 2021. And I've had an unbroken KOG streak ever since then with a variety of decks but I owe the start of the success to Cyber Slash
I remember the grass grows greener wasnt useful due the low amount of GY effect cards

Both Dark Magician and Blue Eyes are still good in Duel Links. Meanwhile in the real TCG they're pretty lackluster. Because every now and then I'll duel a player with a deck built around these two arctypes and have some difficulty defeating them.
Duel LInks is still just slow enough that seeing 3 3k beatsticks on turn 1 is kind of hard to answer, and the Blue eyes fusion and synchro monsters, as well as the White dragon that removes spells and Alternative that literally special summons itself and the 4000 lifepoints you have, Blue eyes still needs to be respected. Even Red eyes can do some sneaky stuff with access to powerful rank 7s and for Duel links, good fusion targets and amazing revival potential as almost every Red eyes card is about recycling.

You're correct,the Dark Magician support in DL. Let's you instantly destroy and remove from play front and back row cards. Making useful at clearing out your opponent's strategy they've worked to build. Still all of these archetypes in the TCG can't hold a candle to the current meta or more archetypes with superior support.

I think they should do a mode in Duel Links where there's no skills, just the Speed Duel format. I think that would have it's own separate meta, because of the whole 4k LP and no Main Phase 2. And no archetypes or cards getting extra powers because anime.

Remember yusei skill that set him up with shooting star dragon was broken as if you didn't have a card to deal with it you basically lost and going first basically was also a win
I also like how Yusei's ability that sets up Shooting Star dragon is almost the ONLY way to get Shooting star on the field.... good luck summoning the level 2 Formula Synchron to get it on the field otherwise. Jack's Nova Archfiend is WAY easier to bring out cause you can simply synchro climb, but Shooting Star.... you NEED the ability...
@@MarioMastar think someone combined Jack monsters with to do it but yea, Nova dragon is easy because it doesn't require a synchro tuner. If his tuner stardust can change its level at will then summoning shooting star will be better.

I had war flashbacks hearing Fur Hire mentioned. It was bad, ranked duels were unplayable.
If you went first, you lost. If you went second without playing Fur Hire, you lost.
Duel links up to that point had a much slower format. Even though they are called speed duels, games regularly went beyond the 10 or even 20 turn counter.
Fur Hires was the point where OTKs weren't just gimmicks.

Actually, I get extremely good mileage out of Citadel Whale in Master Duel. Combine it with Electric Jellyfish for some great negates.

The #1 on this list has seen some competitive play in Naturia Runick, as it can be triggered by either player and the runick engine has no shortage of ways to trigger it for free removal - though that deck had such a short lifespan in the tcg due to the hit to Sacred Tree. Still seeing some play in Master Duel though.
People who complain about Raging Pendulum probably never lived in the Harpies meta. They were such a nightmare that they still see play (and I enjoy crushing them with my BLS deck, no mercy for them)
