This is a really great movie. It shows that even enemies can be the best of friends. I know, the plot may just drone on, but it's a great movie overall. I think it made me cry a good few times. Really no one can have a great friendship like this.
Ever since that damn unofficial dub, it's been super hard if not impossible for me to find the english sub version on anime streaming sites what don't just replace it with said unofficial dub now which annoys me to no end tbh. Glad this is still up despite that.
The meaning of the name of these this move characters, "Gabu" is "sounds to bite" in Japanese. And "Mei" is "sheep and goat voice " in Japanese. "Gabu" Nuance is "sound to bite violently" "sound to strongly chew" .
I love that Mei is a male here. In western countries they would never produce such a thing with that dialoges as a male and male. They would NEVER xD They would cut the dialogues so that the goat can be stereotypical macho-like or they would make it to a little cute female. And that's why japanese things are much better than disney and western stuff
In terms of the dub, they actually did neither, it kinda sticks true to both Mei and Gabu, Mei sounds similar to the japanese voice, albeit a bit more... "sheepish" in a way while Gabu has a gruff voice but still sounds like he's nice
I read that Tustin (who produced the dub) tried to make them seem less gay by having Mei say that line after he wakes up mentioning a girl that tickled him. What I don't understand is why they changed other dialogue having Mei instead ask to sleep with Gabu in that cave midway the movie and the elderly goat say she saw them 'holdin' each other' weird.
***** True, but nouns and topics in conversations can't be missed in translating unless you didn't notice it at all or you didn't WANT to have them speak it (which is what I assume Tustin did).
This movie is so cute. Such a sweet story, and the characters were so endearing. I wasn't expecting to like this movie as much as I did when I first heard of it. Why isn't this movie more easily available to buy? I would think this would be at least a cult classic by now.

So cute! Seriously this movie is overall cute! The way Mei and Gabu’s relationship develops is great to see! Starting with them becoming friends by pure chance due to not knowing they’re natural predator and pray, but getting to know eachother as individuals!
this is like a pocahontas spin off because there are two sides and they are supposed to be enemys but they are friends and no I do not have a problem with the fact that they are friends I think it's simply wonderful!

I was trying to make sense of Joon Joo's death .In this animation he does not die but has a near death experience..So does this relate to the accident that killed his first love or is this related to his stabbing here? I'm guessing since we didn't see any suspension message, and that it says "the user closed their account", that they closed it on their own. They had a clear message saying they'd remove the dub if anyone else reuploaded their work.
