i’m really glad you went to college and mentioned that “youtube doesn’t last forever”. some of these current you tubers forget that they won’t be super popular forever, and you have to have a back up plan. so proud of you!

@@blue-pj2bp A lot of people who suddenly come in to wealth eventually go broke, youtubers are not an exception. I just watched a video last week about this TH-camr who foreclosed on her mansion and has no savings...
I've watched this video many times already and I realized it just makes me feel so motivated to do things that I want to do. Idk Ashley has this ability to make me rewatch her simple-vloggy videos again and again.
My father always said that the point of a coin toss was not necessarily to make the decision, but like as you said, the moment you toss the coin, you know what you want the answer to be. Good luck in NY
it's really true I ended up having to teach myself that "the toss doesn't HAVE to be the rule and if it lands on the side I realize I didn't want it to, it's not bad/wrong of me to go against the toss" because the point is to figure out what I want, not what fate decided for me
I use this principle too. Though rather than a wise idiom from my father , I learnt it from phoebe in friends. She tells Rachel shes not actually pregnant after all, after a second test. Rachel then realises she kind of wanted to be and feels sad and phoebe tells her she lied - and now she knows how she feels and should keep the baby.
her whole vibe screams ny. especially the home aesthetic. she turned her whole studio into a rustic “i’m paying $5000 for one room in brooklyn” moment and i love it. not to mention the very obvious eye for fashion which is insanely huge there. honestly i think this move will really up her content and most importantly her happiness!
When i first read the title i was like “She’s moving to NewYork”. She seems like such a NewYork girl, especially with the fashion industry being a huge thing in NY. It’s a perfect fit for Ashley
lol she's too nice to be a new york girl. I'm sure she'll toughen up when she gets here but you definitely gotta have a tougher attitude to make it here
I love that you’re not an ordinary youtuber in the way of using clickbait or other tricks to attract people to your video’s but you are pure and youself and you show your struggles an flaws and you actually make great content that viewers enjoy to watch and I think that’s the reason you are an inspiration to so many of us
I agree so much some other TH-camrs I wach as they grow they start to get more generic and try to have a likeable personality but so far I've been watching her for over a year and I have not seen that genericness in her. I love her so much!
I'm a native Angeleno, born and raised, lived in NYC for 11 years but moved back to L.A. 4 years ago. It's interesting to hear you say all this. Some of what you said is dead 100% true like fake nice, urban planning, and I just about DIED when you talked about traffic because it's SO TRUE. I live 8 min from work but it would take me 30-40 min after work because of traffic. A lot of what you're describing in terms of diets, personal appearance etc the "typical L.A. stereotype", I believe to be "entertainment" related. Most Angelenos in East L.A. or the San Gabriel Valley aren't worried about such shallow things. As far as race, I mean, you live in West L.A. / Central L.A. I don't see how you could feel so out of place considering these two parts of L.A. are the much wealthier areas made up largely by white and asians, especially if you went to UCLA. But I dont live in your shoes. L.A. isn't for everyone one but I'm glad you gave it a shot. Having live in NYC for over a decade, I still miss it very much and there's lots to love about it but I'm glad to be back in L.A.

That's pretty much just the not having kids part. Source - I'm old & currently living in my 4th country so far this life time. My goal is to live 10 years on each continent except Antarctica before I die.
Unless you homeschool like me :) we travel wherever whenever! Definitely not the same with kids though I love your encouragement in “idk you but I’m proud of you.” That warmed my heart... beautiful to see women supporting women!
Ashley, you probably won’t see this, but in case you do: I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos recently because you put me in a better mood. I was trying to pin down the exact reason why, thinking it was your outfits or the vintage jazzy music or your pretty edits. And although all those things make me excited about fashion and music and artsy stuff, what really gets me is your attitude. I really aspire to be as independent and optimistic and brave as you are. You put effort into so many areas of your life and it pays off. Seeing that makes me wanna put in effort too. But you’re also relatable and make me feel like it’s okay if I’m not productive all the time. You also make me feel like I don’t need a guy to be happy and there are so many things in life that can make me happy. I’m sure lots of people agree with me and I just wanted you to know that you really are a role model to me and make me feel really happy and inspired when I watch your videos. (I don’t usually say things that cheesy that was hard haha)
i’ve been watching you for a year now and you seem like an entirely different person. not in an “la changed her” way, but you seem like you are so much more confident and independent. i’m really proud of you. thank you too, because you have helped me get through life a lot. also i want to move to new york so badly. when i go there, i feel like i finally fit in and it feels cozy, but everyone disagrees with me on that point.
i have only gone to ny once and it was when i was little but i totally agree with you! like my parents say “You’d never want to move to New York, don’t do it” but you’re right it feels cozy
i live like a 2-3 hour drive away from nyc, and i love it too. one of my cousins live there too. i would say make sure you can afford it since it’s really expensive. but if everything’s thoroughly planned out, i say go for it.
i’ve lived in brooklyn my entire life and one of the things i love most about this city is how easy it is to ground yourself. when i’m feeling anxious or just need to distract myself, i sit on the red steps at times square and people watch. its really cool to do this later in the night when there aren’t as many people, you really get to take in the beauty of times sq which is something that i forget a lot. and people watching, its usually tourists so you’re seeing their faces, how happy they are and how much fun they’re having. it makes me feel happy and hell i usually end up volunteering to take their pictures lmao. but you don’t have to go there, theres so many places everywhere around the city where you can just sit and take in whats around you. also, i live near the subway and late into the night when i can’t sleep, i close my eyes and listen for the sounds of the trains departing and arriving. it reminds me that i’m not alone, theres people awake right now coming home or leaving for work, and whatever i’m feeling isn’t bigger than me. i hope you find that here too. welcome to new york, baby! ♥️
Nice perspective! I went to New York last year and it was nice having activities to do everyday. Even if you don’t have something planned there’s already so much around you to just explore and go with the flow. I enjoyed that aspect of New York. I did feel a little drop of sadness that comes with the city..And it’s just that it’s so busy and you can tell others around you are hustling as well that you can almost feel like a character in a book that has “awaken”. It feels like others have been hustling along with their fast paced lives that they dont realize the “ system” that they’re in. It becomes almost monotone. I don’t think it’s something that you can’t deal with though. You can find some relieve by using these sources to go out with friends, go sightseeing somewhere, go walking and feel less lonely
i went to times sq not too long ago when i was visiting the us. i was there at night and now that you mention it, it makes me wonder if we might've passed by each other! slim chance but that kind of thing is what makes life wonderful to me XD
I'm a screenwriter that moved to Los Angeles. Currently completing grad school and sometimes I feel like I want to leave Los Angeles. I don't know. And that's okay. Life is filled with uncertainty and I want to enjoy the small things.
I want to become a filmmaker and actor, I wanted to move to LA to get started and make connections but the rent and taxes is scaryyyy 3k a month for a 1 bedroom ?!? Yikes
Girl when you talked about how comfortable you feel living in a big city surrounded by big buildings and people of all kinds and knowing that you don’t matter that much... i love that feeling but no one has ever understood me on that one since now hahah
Elin Winblad maybe that is what someone can get from my message but it’s not what I totally meant. I like that feeling but I like being successful in what i do, being hardworking and important for those who I know I matter to, but today’s society is simply to overwhelming for us as individuals. It is so easy to be stuck in this circle, which leads to social anxiety, depression, feeling of never being good enough. And based on that, yes, I think that feeling anonymous is great sometimes.
K Will i truly get your point because at the end of the day i think it’s all about experiences and personalities. I live in a small town in Italy, with backyards, neighbours i’ve been knowing since forever, I went to school with everyone who lives here i swear. It’s peaceful and people are nice and for a long time i was convinced that this was the reality of life. But then i started University and i moved to one of the biggest city of the country: that was a new discovery for me. I’ve been surrounded by people my whole life and that was the first time that i could be me without the fear of turning down someone’s expectations, and without having to explain my personal choices. When i wrote that comment my intent was not to denigrate any other life experience so don’t call me an insecure losers just because you love your life and i love mine.
"Most depressed I've ever felt, most self destructive..." Welcome to your early twenties where you get to break yourself down completely and rebuild yourself into hopefully someone stronger, better, faster.
Oh no, past that thankfully and entering my thirties now. Growing up, it always thought that only your teenage years will break you down like that, but those early 20s are rough.
@@lilyoh5780 feel the breakdown, envision who you want to realistically be or not be, make small goals to mold yourself, stand up, take a deep breath, start walking. You're going to be okay, and you're never fully alone.

Nope. It sucks. My grandparents, parents, myself and kids all raised here in LA. I don't understand why people keep coming here and gentrifying neighborhoods, displacing POC and then complaining about it all while they're ruining our culture being all the exact things they complain about.
The way Ashley talks about her experiences, her thoughts and idk how she describes life in general feels oddly comforting I can't even properly describe it. It just feels like storytelling,it feels like she voices struggles everyone faces and in a weird way reminds you of how small the world really is,like we really all just through the same shit at the end of the day and it's fine cause we're just so many. That sounds so cheesy but idek i just ~felt that~ you know

Edward Cullen okay dude?.... She’s hot which means that she’ll obviously attract hot guys. She can date whoever the heck she wants. You’re obviously very insecure.
the way she talks makes me feel like she was raised fckn right!! she's so mature and intellectual and it's RARE to see an adult have a realistic perspective towards society.
Usually when it comes to people moving to LA, they tend to stay in the realm of people who are also outsiders but with the mentality of being the best out of everyone else, for example Hollywood, Silverlake, Beverly Hills etc. They don't bother to seek out genuine people born and raised here and immerse themselves in cultural areas where the true heart of LA lies. It's like they created their own world of vanity and destruction in our city that is now taking over via gentrification.
They are out there but you really have to filter through all the loads of crap that's out there and that can be quite a challenge. Wish you all the very best in 2020
as someone who’s born and raised in west LA and still lives here, everything about the video is true. the only caveat is people who grew up here are not superficial/flattering, they’re typically super nice and down to earth. guessing she mingled with a lot of people who were from out of state
YES!! we’ve been given this stereotype of being fake and “entitled” but i feel like thats due to the fact that a lot of people move to California to try to be famous and they’re the ones who are giving us the bad image
Thank you! This is something people who aren't born in L.A always get wrong. They think the natives are these superficial movie star wannabes when it's usually people who weren't born here who act that way and they give a really shitty image of L.A.
@@bryanarreguin8321 Interesting. I definitely feel the opposite. As a Kentuckian who moved out to LA, all natives felt superficial and selfish and all who weren't from LA felt more grounded and empathic. Non-native Angelino's felt like they were all around genuinely caring beings.

As someone who was born and raised in LA i would just like to point out that the toxic energy is only true for people who equate moving to LA with success. All of the TH-camrs and influencers move out here because of the industry not because of the place. LA is my favorite place in the world, but that's because I don't interact with people who only want the lifestyle. Im sure the move out here was hard on ashley because she didn't know people who were in LA for reasons other than connections or the lifestyle. I hope she find more happiness wherever she may find herself in the years to come.
EXACTLY! I was born and raised in Silver Lake and seeing the city change so much for the worst compared to what it was before the height of social media. Now everyone and their mothers move out here for the sake of the hype of the city. Rents went up, traffic got even worst, people obsessed with image and their “clout”. I now live in Seattle and still visit LA a decent amount but I can’t live there anymore.
If we take a closer look, "Hollywood" is what started it all. The term "LA people" really only applied to the transplants, not to those of us who grew up here. TH-cam celebs are no different, so it seems..
Agree completely. I love LA so much. I moved there from Michigan. I didn’t move there for fame or fortune or to hobnob with celebrities. I made true genuine friendships/family there. Did I make friends with some super successful people in the industry? Yep, but that was just fate. Not social climbing. A lot of them were native Angelenos though. So maybe there is something to that. From energy of the city, it does feel like there are a lot of lonely people searching which can be a bit sad. It’s really easy to attract genuine people when you are genuine yourself.
This comment should be PINNED lmao It’s very well said. I’m born and raised in LA and still living here and I can definitely agree on everything you said.
Until two months ago, I lived in LA my entire life. Except for the fact that it’s wonderful to be able to see the variety of architecture in many of the older neighborhoods there. I think that your analysis is spot on.

The Dude That's part of almost every big city. Also, she didn't have to live in a place like this. There are so many nice and affordable places. People should just admit when things don't work for them and why, instead of complaining about things that are an excuse for not achieving dreams.
Beba K It’s simple math! What’s the common denominator??! Democrat run cities! Democrat policies are ruining these once great cities. I ought to know. I live in Baltimore, MD and when President Trump said it was rat infested, high crime and drugs he was 100 percent right!

itziebitz Go back to sleep or try to keep up. I also said high taxes, high crime, high murders, liberal Democrat policies that contribute to these problems and I also said high taxes! What’s the common denominator in all these big cities? Democrat controlled and run! But keep voting them in and paying out your pocket for these wonderful by products of Democrat policies.
I am from Vegas and I have lived in 6 states, one thing I can say about living in different cities in the US, in the future you will cherish your memories of California. You have perspective and a right to say why you don't like LA--because you made the leap! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Life is an adventure and I am excited to hear about your new experiences. If they are positive, AWESOME! If they suck? You just make another decision. Carpe diem.
in London they asked where you were from because of your accent. When I came to LA people did not ask me "what is my job", they asked "where was I from" because I have a Kiwi accent. What people ask will depend on you appearance, accent, etc etc.. in saying that LA was %100 not what i imagined and the media portrays it to be. Could not believe the homelessness there.
I think it's super cool how americans feel free to move wherever they want, to start a whole new life, they don't get so tied to the place where they grown up, to the people they know... It's super unusual for me as an italian and as a super emotional person. I wish I was this mentally free instead of being here complaining about how I'm gonna survive my everyday life after I broke up with my boyfriend after a 4 years long relationship.
Elisa Bonfanti i hope you do whatever feels right to you!! it doesn’t have to be a big change like moving far away and leaving everything you know, but instead it can be small changes that make you happy. four years is a long time, but it always does us good to remember to be content on our own ❤️
Keep in mind that you are getting a very specific perspective, i.e., that of a rich TH-camr. Most Americans don't move as freely as you think they do. Most are tied up with mortgages, children, family, careers, and every bit of sentimentality that anyone would have about where they grew up. Hell, most Americans don't even have passports or have ever really traveled. TH-cam =/= real life.
Nataly Del Riego of course I know this is not every American’s typical lifestyle but I also think that overall Americans tend to move and live far from their home town easier than Europeans, or especially Italians, do. I think it’s something in the mindset we have, it’s just different. I don’t think one is better than the other, it’s just fascinates me to see people being able to do something I would struggle to do 😊
I think youngsters move to the Big Cities because they want to feel like they're starting in their own Rom-Com movie. There are thousands of people doing the career thing from home, a local coffee shop or from airplanes..
i shed a tear when ashley said "i'm moving to new york, baby!" and i have no idea why. i think i'm just really happy that she's making a (not-so-easy) decision to live a better, happier life. it might also be the fact that i'm feeling stuck at this particular point in my life and wish i could do something similar to this. nevertheless, so excited for your journey, ashley!! lots of love from indonesia x

My first time watching your videos and Your being open and telling how you feel without remorse is great. In my 59 years of life your openness is refreshing
Great, honest information. People who want to move to LA need to hear your breakdown. You did an excellent job. Im a 63 year old man and I learned a lot from you. Thanks!
idk why everyone is trying to invalidate her reasons for wanting to leave LA, i lived all over the east (seattle, monterey, etc) and west coasts (atlanta, dc, etc), texas, AND europe (for four years, mind you) and personal experiences can vary widely depending on your personality and direct social environment. her bad experience doesnt mean everyone should have a bad experience, your good experience doesnt mean she should have had a good experience. wow.
As someone who has lived in NY my whole life and recently moved to SoCal, I can't express how seen this video has made me feel. Idk, maybe it's just homesickness or the pandemic, but I realized how much I wanted to live in NYC only after moving here. Nothing at all against the West coast or the people who live here but it's like you said, it's hard to put my finger on, but I just feel so much more in-tune with how people on the East coast interact.

when she says “it makes me feel like I don’t matter that much.” and how she describes it as comforting, it threw me off. I was like ?? that’s strange ?? but I understand it. It’s kind of like the feeling I get where I want to move to a completely new place where nobody knows me and where in fact, I don’t matter that much.
Yeah that comment through me off but I took at as she wanted somewhere that humbling and ground her/ keeps her centered. I think its a lot it be in the spot light all the time (social media and LA culture) so I think she wanted a place she could just get lost in once the cameras are off.
As a marylander I hate and love the state but my possible future I feel like will take me to New York where most of my family, culture, colleges, and general lifestyle would be.

It always shocks me that a city like New York has such a mediocre public transport system (after spending a lot of time in Europe) and can't seem to care to fix simple problems like frequency and reliability but then NYC at least some kind of public transport not like most cities in the U.S. where people are so dependable of cars.
@@CinthyaBB AGREED! after using other subways around the world I tried to understand why...the problems run deep and are complex, there are multiple rail systems/train models that were all integrated at different times and are in different stages of disrepair, corruption, bloated workforce, lack of accountability, ineffective track cleaning procedures, massive garbage and rodent issues, track fires, safety issues, police brutality against fare evaders...there are so many issues and it is so frustrating to use it on a daily basis, trying to be informed and understand WHY things are the way they are and hitting this wall of endless problems that are always being addressed but never solved. It honestly depends in which part of LA you’re located. I lived my whole life in LA and never once considered it predominantly skinny white models. Lmao probably bc I was raised in a Hispanic community, as I said before, it depends where you’re located. You just gotta surround yourself with the right ppl which you can literally find anywhere since it’s so diverse here.
Problem is man even what you talk about is changing. I lived in Beverly Hills and Downtown. Downtown in particular I would drink at Dublins on 7th street, very, very diverse group of people. However, with the liberals selling all the real estate to Asian investors, and the fact rent hikes evaporated the middle class, then the soul that built this city, of which I have a tonne of respect for the Hispanics, is dying. Its basically becoming this hotspot where literally everyone is from somewhere else but all of the same " the world owes me" mindset. A lot of the working class have left and are leaving to Arizona, Nevada and Texas. Or further away from LA into inland Empire for example. The " right" people you talk about are becoming a dying breed. Its a shame, but I also think Covid will speed this up too. Absolute sucks to watch Silver Lake get taken over by rich, white, hippy woke liberals displacing the working class Hispanics from that area.

My father always said that the point of a coin toss was not necessarily to make the decision, but like as you said, the moment you toss the coin, you know what you want the answer to be. Good luck in NY
Brilliant.
I love that!
it's really true
I ended up having to teach myself that "the toss doesn't HAVE to be the rule and if it lands on the side I realize I didn't want it to, it's not bad/wrong of me to go against the toss" because the point is to figure out what I want, not what fate decided for me
So true !!
James Franko i mean it was just an exaggerated analogy but alright
i love how she indirectly spoiled where she was moving to by giving way more situations influencing her decision and the radiating enthusiasm
true! i knew she was picking NY right away
Damn I guessed London haha maybe bc that's where I wanna go!! Haha

@Margherita 8-10 minute drive translates to 3 miles distance at 4:45am when Im out the door to go to the gym before work (which is down the street from work. It takes much more than 15 minutes to walk 3 miles.

Best thing about being young with no kids is you can go wherever you want whenever you want. Idk you but I’m proud of you.
That's pretty much just the not having kids part. Source - I'm old & currently living in my 4th country so far this life time. My goal is to live 10 years on each continent except Antarctica before I die.

26:33 so you're moving to NYC because you want to have a "slutty fun time" ....LOL am I the only one who caught that???????????????
Ashley, you probably won’t see this, but in case you do:
I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos recently because you put me in a better mood.

P. S I love your profile picture 💜
i have only gone to ny once and it was when i was little but i totally agree with you! like my parents say “You’d never want to move to New York, don’t do it” but you’re right it feels cozy
i live like a 2-3 hour drive away from nyc, and i love it too. one of my cousins live there too. i would say make sure you can afford it since it’s really expensive. but if everything’s thoroughly planned out, i say go for it.
i’ve lived in brooklyn my entire life and one of the things i love most about this city is how easy it is to ground yourself. when i’m feeling anxious or just need to distract myself, i sit on the red steps at times square and people watch. its really cool to do this later in the night when there aren’t as many people, you really get to take in the beauty of times sq which is something that i forget a lot. and people watching, its usually tourists so you’re seeing their faces, how happy they are and how much fun they’re having. it makes me feel happy and hell i usually end up volunteering to take their pictures lmao. but you don’t have to go there, theres so many places everywhere around the city where you can just sit and take in whats around you. also, i live near the subway and late into the night when i can’t sleep, i close my eyes and listen for the sounds of the trains departing and arriving. it reminds me that i’m not alone, theres people awake right now coming home or leaving for work, and whatever i’m feeling isn’t bigger than me. i hope you find that here too. welcome to new york, baby! ♥️
Lucy Xi me 2!
Jenn R I think you’re the first person I’ve ever seen calling Times Square beautiful 😂
i went to times sq not too long ago when i was visiting the us. i was there at night and now that you mention it, it makes me wonder if we might've passed by each other! slim chance but that kind of thing is what makes life wonderful to me XD

Its different to come from the place as opposed to come to the place
I live in Orange County most of my life. I have lived in LA and love it. ❤️
@rico yungboy 401 nope. Please don't come.
Girl when you talked about how comfortable you feel living in a big city surrounded by big buildings and people of all kinds and knowing that you don’t matter that much... i love that feeling but no one has ever understood me on that one since now hahah
Endrikela Troci sounds like you’re describing how it feels to be anonymous
Sigh...your comment makes me miss living in new York 😢

Nope.
It just feels like storytelling,it feels like she voices struggles everyone faces and in a weird way reminds you of how small the world really is,like we really all just through the same shit at the end of the day and it's fine cause we're just so many. the way she talks makes me feel like she was raised fckn right!! she's so mature and intellectual and it's RARE to see an adult have a realistic perspective towards society.
This is literally what I’m trying to avoid when going. I just don’t Know where to go… which neighborhoods are actually genuine?

YES!! we’ve been given this stereotype of being fake and “entitled” but i feel like thats due to the fact that a lot of people move to California to try to be famous and they’re the ones who are giving us the bad image

I was just going to comment this. You create the environment around you with the people you associate with and the lifestyle you choose.
I’m born and raised in LA and still living here and I can definitely agree on everything you said.

h a n i Who wants to overpay for housing, overpay in taxes, live with illegals, poop and syringes on the street with an over flowing homeless population with some extra wind fires! Yeah, smart move lady!!
@@TheDude-yw4kn New York is Rat infested too. What are you on dude?
Also she lived in West LA. If you don't know what that is, then 🤫.
Fact based please, not opinions from the peanut gallery.
itziebitz Go back to sleep or try to keep up. I also said high taxes, high crime, high murders, liberal Democrat policies that contribute to these problems and I also said high taxes! What’s the common denominator in all these big cities? Democrat controlled and run! But keep voting them in and paying out your pocket for these wonderful by products of Democrat policies.
joe goldberg just moved into LA so, gud call
fjwjxjrjw I was about to comment she did a reverse joe goldberg
Don't worry "Joe" will find her no matter where she goes. And she will be swept away by him just like all the others.
🤣🤣🤣 I just started watching that show lol. Good laugh mate.
I hear he’s moving to the PNW for season three. That’s where I live. Can’t wait for joe to discover pour overs, Gortex and Bigfoot.
Carpe diem.
I feel like I'm listening on 1.25 speed
superholly Yeah. And I think that she just did my exercise for the day.
Had to check to my settings to see if I had it on 1.25 speed too.
lol. : )
Holly!! Amiga
It’s 1.5 speed for me ...
When Ashley started tearing up talking about moving to ny I literally felt so freakin happy for her
This is such a candid chat, It’s like fresh air to my smog ridden lungs.
Actually informative, contemplative and editing is on point as per usual.
in London they asked where you were from because of your accent.
Lana del Rey has said it "I moved to California but it's just a state of mind turns out everywhere you go you take yourself"
Ailin Behar damn that’s rly good advice
Yes ! No matter where you go there you are.
The Weeknd: “Cali was the mission, now a nigga leavin’...”
Vish also Abel “this place is never what it seems, this place will be the end of me, take me out of LA”
Elisa Bonfanti i hope you do whatever feels right to you!! it doesn’t have to be a big change like moving far away and leaving everything you know, but instead it can be small changes that make you happy. four years is a long time, but it always does us good to remember to be content on our own ❤️
Ti capisco perfettaments
viri thank you so much, that means a lot to me
Keep in mind that you are getting a very specific perspective, i.e., that of a rich TH-camr.
I don’t think one is better than the other, it’s just fascinates me to see people being able to do something I would struggle to do 😊
If Ashley had a podcast I would listen to it constantly
Yessss!!!
Love her voice
honestly she needs to start one rn
Ikr!!! Her voice is so calming and nice to listen to. I’ll play videos I’ve already watched😂
Was literally just thinking that
I think youngsters move to the Big Cities because they want to feel like they're starting in their own Rom-Com movie. There are thousands of people doing the career thing from home, a local coffee shop or from airplanes..
But L.A and San Fransisco pay their jobs a lot
i shed a tear when ashley said "i'm moving to new york, baby!" and i have no idea why. i think i'm just really happy that she's making a (not-so-easy) decision to live a better, happier life. it might also be the fact that i'm feeling stuck at this particular point in my life and wish i could do something similar to this. nevertheless, so excited for your journey, ashley!! lots of love from indonesia x
Michelle Lionard I cried so hard because in a way she’s living my dream and she just speaks to me on a level of what I want to be able to do when I grow up. And when I watch her videos I realize that I’m in 10th grade and I’m almost there and I just cry tears of joy for her and for me. Omg I literally cried the second she said that she already knew in her heart where she wanted to go because it was just so emotional for me omg.
Michelle Lionard i started crying too LOL
Im indonesian too.
ME TOO!
Especially since New York is my dream city to live in so I related to Ashley even more
Same to me girl! I'm also Indonesian and I feel like my purpose and where i want to live in a long run is not here in Surabaya. But the sad thing is, we as Indonesians have it pretty hard to apply for visa in the first world countries
Was I the only Brit trying to make her telepathically choose london
Yes
Skye L lmao. i mean i can’t stand london so i probably would’ve gone if she did a meet and greet and that would be the only reason but then again i fell the same about New York so whatever really. also i have this fear of the world finding out how shit england is. like when they go there on holidays they’re all like it’s lovely but you get bored of england fast and i don’t want the country to be exposed just yet.
BLAHbl AHblah I do like London but I’m afraid people will find out how bad the weather is
No. I definitely hoped she'd come here. I'm such an introvert. But I'd totally travel into London to have coffee and talk random crap at an inappropriate hour.
Skye L im in NY and still listened to NY part like I’ve never been here lol
I love how educated and articulate she is. It’s honestly so refreshing to listen to her talk
My first time watching your videos and Your being open and telling how you feel without remorse is great. In my 59 years of life your openness is refreshing
"comforting feeling that i don't actually matter that much" a sentence that i never thought i'd hear... and i loved it tbh!!!
Moral of the story: Ashley doesnt wanna matter that much
I would die for a podcast at this point, but I’m so happy for Ashley and her new journey!
Great, honest information. People who want to move to LA need to hear your breakdown. You did an excellent job. Im a 63 year old man and I learned a lot from you. Thanks!
ashley saying "New York, baby!" reminds me of joey saying "London, baby!" in friends and i feel like that fits really well
ah hahaha
omg yess
Omg when she said “New York, baby” and got all excited and shy I literally started tearing up? Why was that so emotional?
idk why everyone is trying to invalidate her reasons for wanting to leave LA, i lived all over the east (seattle, monterey, etc) and west coasts (atlanta, dc, etc), texas, AND europe (for four years, mind you) and personal experiences can vary widely depending on your personality and direct social environment. her bad experience doesnt mean everyone should have a bad experience, your good experience doesnt mean she should have had a good experience. wow.
you mixed east and west coast, but you've lived in places i want to live in so bad you're so lucky
How did you like Seattle? I live close by but I haven’t explored much besides the “main part” (1st ave area)
@@correallealtier9269 I may be a bit biased, but I love Atlanta..hehe
Word of advice. No one can know what it's like to "live in the city of Los Angeles" under ten years. Anything under that is just visiting.
@@IKNOKWORLDWIDE not - that's ridiculous did you just make that up?
As someone who has lived in NY my whole life and recently moved to SoCal, I can't express how seen this video has made me feel. Idk, maybe it's just homesickness or the pandemic, but I realized how much I wanted to live in NYC only after moving here. Nothing at all against the West coast or the people who live here but it's like you said, it's hard to put my finger on, but I just feel so much more in-tune with how people on the East coast interact.
I love people who can speak fast yet fluently at the same time. Weirdly satisfying.
I’m struggling to keep up and I live in UK :(((
Lol
I even thought I had it on 1.5x speed !! ha
Yea! Im from finland and i understand everything :D
Yeah like Ben Shapiro. He is a very fast talker.
@@misein1 i watch a lot of his video too
ive been here since before 1M and im still feel like i can relate to you. youre one of the realest people in our social media age. everytime i watch ur vids i remember its ok to feel lost!! hope things go well for you! :)
me too! and i agree on everything you said! also, harryyyyy okay goodbye
Ashley: I’m thinking about designing my own clothing line
Me: SHUT UP AND take my MONEY
Leslie Lugo especially cause it’s probably gonna be sustainable!
same
literally me
yeah that's me
That reminds me of the give your fucking money vine lol
This video gave me chills, i live in LA and everything you mentioned is true. Many reasons why i also want to move out of LA
ashley: spends 20 minutes comparing LA to NYC
also ashley: i havent told u where i'm moving yet uwu
when she says “it makes me feel like I don’t matter that much.” and how she describes it as comforting, it threw me off.
I love how the sky turned blue when you said you’re moving to newyork. Im happy for you ashley :’)
💖💖💖💖
Isaochy 🤭🤭🤫
‘People are nice, but fake nice’ that’s the entire USA for you ma’am
"The nations least significant state" I've never been more offended by something I completely agree with
i thought i was the only one. i love Maryland but at the same time i'm ready to go somewhere new
The whole state is a bedroom community for DC now
Isn't that Montana? I sometimes forget Montana even exists.
As a marylander I hate and love the state but my possible future I feel like will take me to New York where most of my family, culture, colleges, and general lifestyle would be.
Lol 😂 don’t forget Connecticut
Ashley: **talking about how convenient and efficient the subway is**
Me: **waited 2 hours for the N train to go 3 stops down**
Why did you not get out and walk/taxi to another train? That's not a common situation.
YES. The subway sucks I have wasted so many hours waiting in the dank shit and piss smelling dungeons of the subway. but as much as I hate to admit it, it does get me where I need to go 100% of the time even if it's only on time 70% of the time.
wheeewwww let it be the weekend, the MTA will have you waiting literally all day
It always shocks me that a city like New York has such a mediocre public transport system (after spending a lot of time in Europe) and can't seem to care to fix simple problems like frequency and reliability but then NYC at least some kind of public transport not like most cities in the U.S. where people are so dependable of cars.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK 😩
I found really interesting how the necklace with stars twinkled.
It’s because her head is moving so the necklace is moving too
Thanks, now I can’t stop looking at the necklace- 😅
Nyan Miku it’s in her description she always puts her outfits there and where to buy them
lubs ahri I couldn’t stop staring at that! 😂
I watched it like the whole time it’s so cute
2023 and still rewatching Ashley's video
@@anthonyr587 "with the liberals selling all the real estate to Asian investors", lol, I personally know a few RE up there doing that.
@@stevesmithston8914 Liberal politicians, there are no republican politicians doing that here. DTLA in particular. So many high rise buildings and land being sold by the City politicians to Asia. Metropolis one, the two towers opposite the Staples. Luxe hotel. Huizar and his cronies got indicted by the FBI for corruption with China developers. Big ring of these liberal politicians taking bribes and back handed deals, pricing out their own voters from living there as well.
there's probably more skinny white models in NYC than L.A... and i see more brown or mixed race people in L.A than i do White people. so i don't know what alternate universe she's living in
Yes. This 💯
