      Hey Steve! I enjoy your content a lot. Can you do this underrated rig please. It is called the drop dead ned rig. I tried using it last year and it combines the elements of a drop shot and ned rig in one build. I’d be interested to see it underwater too.

    This is so much better than 90% of the videos that say go up a creek arm and look for shad for essentially everything.

      Especially when you live somewhere where lakes don’t have creeks or shad.

    Really great tips in this video! I struggle with knowing when to change things up if those bass are showing interest. Sure, I'm getting the bass' attention, but I need to remember that I need to dial it in just a bit more.

      I struggle with the same thing. Lol. I get some swats on a lure and it is hard to put it down. But man, when I switched it up on that lake last summer the hits were immediate and violent. Just crazy. I learned a lot that day for sure.

    That's sound advise Steve. I often times use crankbaits for my search lures depending on the conditions. I will go with a shallow, mid depth and deep diver and probe the depths until I get bit. I will then use a swimbait in that area as well since its not as obnoxious as a crankbait. I have never used a swim jig, but seems it would be a lot more efficient than my method. Thanks for the great content.

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It took me a long time to start using swim jigs, but once I did, wow, what a game-changer they were. A terrific angler from LaCrosse, WI taught me all about them. A swim jig up there on the river is a real staple.

    I got some juice for you Steve you might like. I use crankbaits for search baits. I have 3 rods and 3 different depth baits I start with 0-4 foot, than 4-8 foot, than 8-12 foot. I have a lot of success with this! Plus I catch a lot more fish with crankbaits than swimbaits. Just personal preference. Keep the faith brother and keep it coming! 👍🥸🙏

      Thank you! Crankbaits are such great lures. They were the first artificial bait I used as a kid many years ago and they are still high on my list of go-to lures.

    @SteveRogersOutdoors Question/Advice.. I fish like 99% of the time in a rock quarry. You can only put Jon boats, kayaks and Canoes with battery operated trolling motors in. No gas powered. With that said I want to buy a fishing kayak and a trolling motor. Is it necessary for me to have a trolling motor with spot-lock in that environment? I'm not going out on the River with it. Or can I get away with a hand operated trolling motor. I saw some at Academy Sports for like $150 on sale Minn Kota® Endura C2-40 Freshwater Transom Mount Trolling Motor 40 lb thrust, Shaft Length: 36"... I would probably only go out on the water on mostly calm days and many of the times the water is pretty flat.. There are days where its very choppy, but I would just bank fish on those days.. Your thoughts and opinion would be very much appreciated...

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a terrific question. Most definitely you can get by with the transom mount, especially if you shore fish on those windy days. The cost difference is also a considerable difference. With that said, I recently added Spot-Lock to my boat by upgrading to a new trolling motor - an absolute game changer. I do know that a lot of kayak anglers that have the Spot-Lock always talk about not putting it in anchor mode while standing, because it can cause you to get off balance and possibly fall when it makes a sudden adjustment. Like you said, when you can get one for $150 though, that makes a huge impact on the wallet. And the nice thing with the transom mount being much more affordable, you can always try it and if sometime in the future you want to upgrade, you're not out a ton of money.

      @@SteveRogersOutdoors Thanks Steve, as always your advice is very much appreciated.. I will buy that $150 one for now. Save up some money and get one with a spot-lock down the road..

    I hope someone hear can help me..
    I have a river, one hour away. I cant find any predator movement around... theres A LOT of that little fishes that are usually the pray..
    Siriusily, there are a lot off fishes but no signs off predators... is it possible, in river with that lot of fishes, no predator around?

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There definitely could be a system that is out of balance in that predator-prey relationship, but I haven't personally run across a river that is missing the predators. What is the river? I will try to do some research on that one.

      But no attacks on the lures...
      Spinning baites, poppers, surface frogs, softs, those that submerge and surface with each pull... and some of those that goes deep.
      And some hours trying natural baits like worms, fishs heads, corn, sausage...
      Dude I tried everything... and i was, like, 1 mile away from the last house by the river...

    Fish "parallel" to the shoreline? Bank fisherman not welcome here. Haha jk.

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can be very hard for shore anglers to parallel. Especially if there is a lot of shoreline brush that make it hard to cast. My backcasts end up in a lot of trees. Lol.
