    Thank you! I might make some for my brother’s birthday. Can I put the fondant straight into the cake or do I need to put something on before the fondant?

      Hi there x before putting fondant onto the cake, you will either need a buttercream or ganache crumb coating so the fondant sticks x

    Hi could I ask do you use anything to stop it cracking? I tried to do this and it cracked a lot. Could I ask what sort of icing is underneath? Is it marzipan? buttercream?

      Cracking (elephant skin) can occur when the paste is too cold or too warm if kneaded too much. It’s best to use cornflour to dust your surface when rolling out your paste. Use more paste than you need as you won’t need to stretch it as much. I find Renshaw extra paste much easier to work with x
      My outer coating on my cakes is white chocolate ganache. It gives a more stable, firmer and workable surface when adding fondant x

      Hi there, I know it's been a while but I just found this video. I actually colored my own black fondant for this using 3 drops of green, 4 of purple and two of dark black. Warning: Using this much liquid can alter the texture of your fondant and make it sticky. Use cornstarch to help solidify it.

    how can I mix this navy color I tride to mix shine blue with black but it looks like green more than the dark blue can I use it ?

    • @NautyLittleTreats
      @NautyLittleTreats  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A colour this dark is best brought pre dyed (I used renshaw navy/dark blue) as you would need to use a lot of food colouring to get such a dark blue x

    Where did you get the acrylic smoother?

    • @NautyLittleTreats
      @NautyLittleTreats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get acrylic smoothers from most cake decorating shops, but these would have been purchased from www.icedjemsshop.com
