The Absolute Universe is changing Gotham in a way we've never seen before, and now we have CONFIRMED details on the next wave of villains coming for Batman. One of them will be his biggest challenge yet-literally.
Scott Snyder has revealed some insane details, including:
🔥 A terrifying horror villain perfect for this Gotham
🃏 A familiar face with more power than ever before
💀 A monstrous threat so massive, Snyder says Batman will look tiny next to him
But that’s just the beginning. Snyder also confirmed that all of Bruce’s closest friends will eventually turn into their villainous selves.

Would love an absolute Poison Ivy in Act 2 and maybe Harley Quinn as The Joker’s Assistant
It would also be cool if Harley was a TV host again with Heart to Heart but at Oprah levels. I’m not sure how Poison Ivy would fit but I’d love to see it. It seems like maybe she’d need to be anti-environment to work.

Snyder could really do some interesting stuff with Mad Hatter. Maybe he could be a bigwig or CEO of a media corporation. Maybe the same network Harley is on.
I am digging absolute universe so far. Wonder if he is going to use Court of owls or any “new” villains
@@MrRctroh I don’t really want to see BWL but Court of Owls would be perfect for the Absolute Universe. Like, so perfect that it’ll be a shame if they don’t show up at some point.
My problem with the absolute Gotham villains is how lackluster they are. The idea that so many of his enemies were childhood friends feels cheap. So I hope Scrawcrow isn’t ANOTHER long-lost-childhood friend turn fiend. Plus, Snyder already took a shot at Mr.Freeze in the New 52. He made the guy go from a desperate man trying save his wife to a generic obsessed cold villain. So, my hopes aren’t high.
Why is that cheap? At this point they’re not villains anyway. Black Mask is. He seems like a pretty tough challenge for Batman to face, which is the point of the Absolute Universe.
Scarecrow will probably be another powerful person like Black Mask. Freeze too.
From what he’s said so far, it sounds like Snyder is making his Absolute villains powerful nihilists, which I think makes a lot of sense given that it’s Darkseid’s universe now.
@@WhatsUpWOLF I get the idea Snyder going for. Trying to lean into the “One Bad Day” philosophy. Where Batman would or could be as broken as them. However, making so many be personal old-pals is kinda a stretch. It works with Two-Face, cause he embodies corruption. It doesn’t work for guys like Riddler and Penguin, who are suppose to be complete narcissists. By trying make everyone a sad story, you remove what makes them stand-out.
@ we don’t really know enough of their backgrounds for them to be sad stories. The Penguin definitely seems sus already. Not only Harvey Dent, but Selena Kyle also makes sense to start out good. She’s always been borderline. I’m gonna let him cook and see if he pulls it out. He’s doing good so far
@@WhatsUpWOLF Don’t get me wrong, I am reading the story. I admit their parts I like, especially the actions, the manga style artwork, and the villain Black Mask. However, much like the $#!% show of “DC vs Vampires”, it feels like the writer telling me to turn-off my brain off while gloating about how smart his story is.
Overall, I say my enjoyment is 50/50. It just needs some fine tuning.

Prime Batman isn’t all that different from Absolute Batman lately-he was even poor at one point. Also, can Snyder please return to write the main Batman comic after Absolute Batman ends? I know Loeb and Lee are working on Hush 2, but maybe after that? They haven’t been giving Prime Batman any unique gadgets or tools lately, unlike Absolute Batman, who’s constantly receiving new gear. That’s one of Batman’s biggest appeals, isn’t it? Instead, he’s stuck using the same old equipment and even went back to wearing an outdated costume during King’s awful run. This is one of the reasons I loved Snyder’s Batman-he actually introduced new things like the Thrasher Mech, Justice Buster, and various new gadgets for batman and gave him a new batsuit by the end of his run. Absolute Batman feels like their way of making Batman cool again, just in another universe.
@@Maab_835 he’s lost his money, but I don’t think he’s ever been born without it has he? Lemire is writing JSA and Absolute Flash and a couple of other things, so maybe Snyder will too. I don’t know how busy the Absolute Universe “show runner” role is keeping him. Seems like a lot of the other big names would be too busy. Like Joshua Williamson. He’d be a good choice but he’s already doing Superman and GI Joe.
@@WhatsUpWOLF no prime batman was born rich it's a known fact I was moreso saying that as of recently prime batman was poor until the finale of dark prisons where he got money from zur, now he is rich again but not as rich as he used to be.
How long exactly the absolute series will go on for?
@ As of now, there's no end in sight. I hope it never ends, but I would imagine it's more likely they'll have some big event in a few years that only the most successful Absolute characters survive. Maybe not though. I'd love it if they just kept it going forever.
@@WhatsUpWOLF Do you think absolute heroes will meet their prime counterparts? I wanna see absolute batman meet prime batman and them exchanging their gear and gadgets for a fight that would be so dope.
@@Maab_835 Me too! I'm hoping the comics will be successful, and they'll slowly introduce the Absolute heroes to each other, then create an Absolute Justice League, and then do a crossover between both universes. But I hope they do it over the course of five years or so.
