@@ffjj3964 yea there were definitely some missed opportunities. It’s like they forgot the assignment they assigned themselves. I like the story, but it could have been even better if they’d started him out as more of an under equipped guerrilla

@@WhatsUpWOLF I read Absolute Superman, and he feels kinda generic. The younger and edger Superman is has original as the Evil Superman. (Read “Earth One Superman” or “New 52 Action Comics” or “New 52 Superman”.) Same time, character feels so far removed from Superman, he’s a complete different character. Not Clark Kent, different look and ideals, doesn’t live in metropolis, has a difficulties with his powers. Just feels too removed to be Superman. I do like Absolute Wonder Woman. Cause the book stick to one small change so far. She definitely different, but that from the one alternation. Being raise in hell. Rest don’t seem interested in changing just one detail or anything like that.

@ we don’t know what absolute Superman’s ideals are yet. I do think they went overboard with the changes, but it’s got the makings of a good story. Same with Batman. Overall, it’s enjoyable, but not executed to perfection

@@WhatsUpWOLF I feel like we’re in the honeymoon of the Absolute Universe. Right now people only like it cause it new and different. Like The New 52 or the original Ultimate Universe. I feel like we’ll have to wait somewhat before we know if this has any real staying power. I think Batman has the best chance of lasting. Maybe The Flash.

Yea, before issue came out, I thought he wasn’t going to have all the cool gadgets until he finally teamed up with Alfred. I think that would have been cooler. Still could have built up to all the cool stuff, but also had some time to see what he’d do with less resources. I mean, he probably has better gear than he did in Batman year one and was he that much younger in that?

@@j-money867 you may be right 😥 so boring Garth Ennis has said some interesting stuff about that and how the fact that the stories never end makes them less meaningful. I think that could still be meaningful if fans would just give the writers and artists some leeway and let them cook. But it really does seem like most people don’t want that

@@victorbottino7886 he’s the guy who wrote “still not a worry wart, I just think a lot” way back when I am really pleasantly surprised by how much everyone is loving the absolute universe. Sometimes we can get a bit too quick to dismiss anything that changes things up. It seems like most of the people who don’t like them haven’t actually read them yet

@@WhatsUpWOLF😂. I do wonder if they’ll take elements of inspiration from anime similar to what they did with Wonder Woman. Maybe like Parasyte or Kaiju #8, Naruto etc but via an American lens ya know? That’s why I am intrigued (I am prob off but we will see)

@WhatsUpWOLF I like it. I have always said that many popular DC characters are simply OP. That made me lose interest. Marvel started doing same thing as well. Now noting matters anymore cuz everyone is OP. I want most of then depowered or given REAL limitations, which would encourage BETTER WRITING. Example: - Batman (they are doing a very good job so far) - Superman (so far so good, it looks like he has to manually recharge) - Wonder Woman (she should not be able to fly without her steed) - Flash (no time travel, limit him to "barely faster than a bullet", and make him a GLUTTON because he needs to always eat in order to run) - Green Lantern (ring needs to be charged more often, and user needs to _constantly concentrate_ to keep their constructs solid) - Green Arrow (no change 🤣)

@@Beastboy_relly I’m not sure, but there’s another page where Bruce is playing cards with his buds and he’s wondering where she is. He’s clearly got a thing for her but she doesn’t come around much anymore for some reason it seems.

@@dayneschwarz8437 I do like it so far but I hope the mood improves a bit because it’s so bleak right now. That could make for a really nice light at the end of the tunnel sense of relief when things finally start coming together. I just hope we don’t take TOO long to get there.

@@WhatsUpWOLF It's definitely a bleak outlook on the character, they'll probably have it all fit together at some point in the run. Its just a matter of when they'll do it, since they're taking there time fleshing out these characters. Which makes me excited for the process, but the first issue was good! I'd put it in second place out of three, but it's different which I like. I really like that Peacemaker is not an isolated character but rather an elite group of enforcers. Lois's character is what I'm really curious about, will she continue to be an enemy? Or maybe see the circumstances from Superman's point of view, only time will tell.

@@WhatsUpWOLF it's a drastic departure from the norm, which I imagine does not appeal to a lot of people, myself included. I will say that Batman Beyond got a lot of flack in it's day though as well, and turned out to be an overall good story. I wasn't a fan of the character styling though at the time.

@ yea, I like both types of stories. Staying close to the source material and going crazy. This is definitely more towards the latter
