i am not very smart and i CLOSED MY GAME WITHOUT SAVING after i built this, so i have to rebuild it at some point this weekend in order to put it on the gallery 😭

I feel like italian restaurants always have a bunch of random stuff on the wall like a picture of frank sinatra or something so I think the clustering of photos really added to the italian restaurant feel lol
I don't know about the pictures of Frank Sinatra ahahah but in my zone we have the restaurants full of picture of the ocean or trees or ... family photos ahahaha (I'm italian)
All the Italian restaurants I’ve been to have been pretty fancy. Like they’re not really fancy, they’re not expensive but they try to feel expensive and fancy. So they don’t have random things on the wall.
@@rachelcookie321 It depends by the owner, the type of restaurant and the zone. We have the pizzeria(usually it's pretty simple and tiny), the rustic restaurant with an older look or the fancy one, the gourmet one (with a more expensive look) or the restaurant near the sea

@@YouKnowImOnMyPeriodYah Like the photo of the grandparents wedding ahahah who owned the restaurant before them ahahah, we are really family oriented ahah. Btw the photos means something, it's like "you're welcome in my home". Family photos make the place more warm and friendly
One of the best lessons I've ever learned is that things dont have to MATCH. They just have to GO. Every time Simsie says "it doesnt match!" I want to tell her it's okay! Just as long as the colors are complimentary then it's good visuals! Too much matching can look contrived and boring and not lived in.
I’m loving the “town square” sort of areas! They feel so cosy, and yes, great place for a restaurant!! :)

I built an Art Deco cinema there
maybe you could use the trellis things to get roof access over the kitchen. so teens can sneak out at night and star gaze on the restaurant's rooftop. I'm not sure if that's how any of this works but it's a silly, rebellious idea for teens to do in the middle of the night 😂

tbh it being a cute lil fancy cafe makes sense since they're trying to appeal to teens and id definitely go to this if i was a teen
Do teens go to lots of fancy cafes where you live? Teens never go to cafes where I live because we can’t afford it. Teenagers just go to the supermarket and then eat at the park or McDonald’s. That’s what me and my friends do. We went to a cafe once and it just felt weird. There was a bunch of adults there and it felt like we were out of place.

All the little details in Copperdale's downtown are so darling! The fairy lights over the alleyway is my favorite!
I love the idea of using the sneak out window in the bathroom of a restaurant so if a dates going bad you can escape through the bathroom like a friends episode lol
My hometown had a really nice and cute coffee shop open up while I was in high school. My husband and I would occasionally get each other coffee there in the mornings before school and would write each other notes on the coffee cups and surprise one another every now and then. Sometimes we met up before school to have a little morning date there as well. It was the first place we met up at after high school when he came back home from basic training/tech school for the Air Force. And it was also a place we went to when he came home again to propose to me. I think it’ll continue to be a spot we go back to when we visit our hometown. High school restaurants or coffee shops are honestly the best.

Pretty sure she didn't mean really fancy... just fancier than your typical diner (or fast food place) would've been so it's really just a nice kinda mid-range option, which is what she ultimately went for. But yeah lol :D
challenge: Build a three tier cake with curved walls? (I havent been able to play the sims, so im not sure if you can try and make it circular but if not, it could just be a three tiered cake cut in a quarter, or half)
Edit: It could also just be two tiered, since three may be a little too hard
You can make it a complete circle! It takes some fiddling because you have to take each slice and line them up, but it's possible. The inside gets really weird about wall-placement though because it functions exactly like the curved decks. I think it'd be insanely cute with a quarter cut out of it! Maybe take that quarter and set it off to the side like it's a slice?? Oooh, have both of them plated on platforms! It might get glitchy with the platform presentation but ya know... The ceiling is gonna glitch too but mostly from the inside. Point is: people might not want to play in it but for a build video with a theme it's perfect... and hearing her fuss and fluster over trying to sort out the various issues will be amusing for us anyway. :)

I got a kick out of the number of chocolate desserts. That's actually pretty normal. I'm allergic to chocolate so I see often that there are no *non-chocolate* desserts on most menus.
I really like this restaurant. I'm looking forward to finding it on the gallery! (It's so sad that it didn't save initially.)
That's so true. I'm not allergic to chocolate, I just don't like it so I also notice that most places only have chocolate dessert
You may not see this, but it could help others.
At 3:24 where you can't raise the column. There's an easy fix. Have the column selected and use the bracket keys {[ and ]} to make the column taller or shorter. It works even on the corner bits where dragging doesn't.
I can’t wait to see how this looks. I know you say you don’t do good with community lots. But in all honesty, you do them so well. The look of each one is incredible
I’m loving this town square area too. The other day I built an Art Deco cinema on this lot!
This reminds me of when I was a teen and I used to take my friends to this historic-ish eatery because I was really into food there. I think this place is really nice for teens who take themselves a little too seriously if that makes sense. Maybe for a chefy kid or shy kids first date?
i'm not sure if animal crackers are new as an appetiser in restaurants or not but they're definitely not new in general, they've been a quick meal you can get from fridges for ages lol

YES! Finally someone remembered restaurants!! I love going to different restaurants in real life and I try to do the same with my sims, but there almost isn’t any restaurant in the game. The worst part is, no one ever builds restaurants or even thinks about them. It’s like dine out is a sims 4 pack that got forsaken by the community. So glad to see you building this. Can’t wait to add your build to my game :)
my sims go for lunch and leave after dinner lol it takes forever for them to get their food
I just wish it worked properly when you order multiple courses all at once. But I haven't seen too many glitches with them in my game. Then again, I have my Sims eat at them once in a blue moon. I used to add multiples per save and now if I set up a new save, I usually just add the Chez Llama since it has all of the experimental dishes on the menu. Some time I need to create a foodie who goes to college or lives in San Myshuno and they just want to learn every dish out there lol. Can kids learn cooking now if they max out one of the kid skills? 🤔
Edit: lol I still haven't been brave enough to run a restaurant though. I should probably do that soon just to see how it is! I honestly think half the issues might be EA and the other half might be using MOO when building restaurants. (The EA half probably gets busted by cross-compatibility not being taken into consideration mostly.)
Dine out is pretty broken. I have to reset all my chefs everytime they spawn or else they won’t work (this is only if my sim owns the restaurant). You also can’t order multiple courses. I use them regardless, but the sh!t is busted Ngl. Also they can’t add restaurants in their worlds cause that requires everyone to have the pack

I really like that lot being a community lot to round out the town square much better than a house. Good job, Simsie. Sucks that you have to rebuild it lol.

So far I think this was one of my favorite packs EVER in sims 4 I love the atmosphere. makes it seem so much more real and I’d love a restaurant there.
I think when I use this lot I will put loads of debug furniture upstairs and a ladder hidden somewhere so like a storage loft 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
oh it gets SO RAINY during autumn, i played it yesterday and it was an immediate downpour every day i was there once summer passed.
And here I am just knocking down the stairs in the existing build and converting it into a Chinese place.
Good build Kayla. One thing you could have done when you reduced the kitchen size was create a janitors closet out of that unused space. I plan to do that when I download this build.

I build a gym there! Not a great one! But the bottom floor was a practice gym for my cheer squad only and the top was a regular gym. I made a cheer squad organization because they allllll needed to practice cause that first cheer competition was ROUGH.
I agree wholeheartedly about that tile! I was soooo unhappy that the beautiful floor tiles pretty much don’t match any of the nice new wall tiles!

You can put the booths together so she could've made it longer to go next to a longer table but her issue with the small tables looking weird beside just the corner booth is something I've noticed too and it's really unfortunate. It's like everything is oversized until it isn't in the Sims, then they look weird combined. lol

Sims 4 high school how is it even working for you? Mine is bugged as heck. I didnt even get close to prom. My sim aged up. My adult sim lusted over my teen sim....when is EA giving us that patch!
