  • The spares or repair Range Rover P38 joined the fleet around six months ago. Here's the story so far.
    Because I'm an idiot, I forgot to do a Club PetrolBlog update (apologies), but I'll sort that in the Safrane video. Thanks for watching.

    I bought one of these to tide me over until I found a new L322; never did get another 322. This does everything I need at the fraction of the price. Fitting a Powerbox really helps the drivability. Things do go wrong, but by modern standards they are very simple cars. Folks worry about the air suspension, but it's just a compressor and four bags: changing the latter is the same as changing a spring. The looks have grown on me too. She's handsome I say, handsome.

    • @Petrolblog
      @Petrolblog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a good point: the P38 is still relatively simple. That will become a positive as the car gets older and new cars get more complex.

      Changing an air spring is easier than changing a coil.

    I agree with your belief in the P38 values. I always look to see whether a vehicle is being imported from Japan as a mark as to whether they are being considered as collectable/desirable. Great video and keep them coming. I love my 97 4.6 HSE.

    The P38s have been underrated for some time. Prices are certainly on the up as you say. Would love to have one.

      Prices appear to be going up. You should invest in one while they're cheap, although you have a lovely Octavia to keep you occupied!

    The most underrated Land Rover ever made. Must admit I find it amusing that the P38 rusts far far less than an L322

    It's a great useful tool to have around the farm. If you wanted a clean example there's plenty out there wouldn't be a bad idea to one add to the fleet. Late model Vogues are very smart or the rare Holland & Holland which is just gloriously appointed.

      There's something quite regal about the L322, especially from the back. More headroom for a man bun, probably.

    This lovely P38 needs some air in the front tires and some new paint on the rear end! Should drive her more! I'd say original is the way to go. I'm no range rover expert but I've heard the air suspension being the biggest worry.
